Rom 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of this Good News about
Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew
first and also the Gentile. 17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right
in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the
Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has
life."
NLT
Let us remember this day that the
good news saves anyone who believes no matter who you are or what you’ve done.
One of major components of the
gospel is that it tells us how God makes us righteous because of what Jesus has
done for us; He suffered in our place taking our sins and guilt upon Himself on
the cross.
One other thing I want to point
out about the gospel today is that it is not only valid for you as someone who
has never believed but it is effectually valid even after you are saved because
it is through Jesus Christ that you continually gain access into the throne of
God, it will never be through your righteousness even though the devil will
want you to think so after you have been born again. I am saying this because
sometimes the guilt of sin and shame that you have disappointed your lord as a
child of God may hinder you from making it to the throne of God to obtain grace
and mercy.
God’s plan for you is that you
have a sweet fellowship and communion with Him through the Holy Spirit that
lives within you. This will never be possible if that fellowship is based on
your strength. You have to depend on Him daily for the grace and strength to
continue in His righteousness.
Prayer: thank you father for
giving us the opportunity to access you today by faith in the lord Jesus
Christ. I pray today that you help me walk in sweet fellowship with you from
this day, in Jesus name. Amen
