Acts 2:8
Then how is it that each of us hears them in his own native
language?
NIV
The verse above is an excerpt of the story of Pentecost. On
that day, about 120 men and women were gathered praying in a room in Jerusalem,
Suddenly after great sounds and movements indicating a paradigm shift in
things, over three thousand people began to hear the disciples speak in their
own languages ( without PA system).
The gift of tongues is not as much the speaking as the
hearing by the hearers.
There was a time in my life when I wanted to hear myself
speak in other human recognizable tongues. But God has taught me that when I
speak in tongues, he gives the hearers whatever He wants them to hear, if the
need be.
Do not be deceived to thinking your tongues are not valid
because people cannot comprehend them.
Tongues are a sign or symptom of the Holy Spirit’s presence.
They are not an end in themselves.
Therefore let us focus more on the Holy Spirit who brings
the gifts
Prayer:
Dear heavenly father, I thank you for your word today. I
pray that your word will bring fruit in my life today, in Jesus name. Amen
