And I say also unto
thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the
gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The church is God’s weapon for advancing His kingdom
here on earth.
The kingdom of darkness has set up defenses and
hindrances against the church’s invasion such that they will still be able hold
others captives within their gates, but Jesus has told us beforehand that these
gates (the gates of hell) shall not prevail against the church.
This means that we are continuing in preaching the
Gospel and baptizing in the name of the lord. We are to be light and salt in
our generation. If God wants to change your country and deliver it from the gates
of hell, He will do this through the church in your country.
The church of God is the agency through which God
advances His kingdom and destroys the gates of Hell. These gates were put there
because they (the kingdom of darkness) are afraid of the church not the other
way round.
Wherever you go today, remember that you are an agent
of God’s kingdom dispelling the oppression and operations of the kingdom of
darkness.
Prayer: thank you dear God for making me a citizen of
your Kingdom. I pray that my salt will retain its saltness and my light will
shine to your glory in my generation. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
