In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say
to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain. 2 For look, the wicked bend their bows; they
set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright
in heart. 3 When the foundations are being destroyed, what
can the righteous do a?"
4 The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He
observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them. 5 The Lord
examines the righteous, but the wicked b and those who love violence his soul
hates.
NIV
Lot was a righteous man but He lived in a land
where the foundations were being eroded gradually. A time came, when the
foundations of that city could not altogether stand again, the city had to be destroyed
for the good of humankind. I am talking about Sodom and Gomorrah. Just imagine
what the world would have been like had that brand of corruption that was perceived
in Sodom and Gomorrah been allowed to remain and blossom from those early days.
The principles upon which your life is founded
can also be known as the foundation of your life. The foundation of your life
as a child of God is the truth that God’s word presents concerning you. These are
the principles upon which and around which you build your life. Jesus said
anyone that comes to Him, hears his word and obeys shall be like a man who laid
his foundation on a rock, but anyone who does not do so shall be like a man
that laid his foundation on sand. The principles of the kingdom of God should
be the anchor and guiding principle of your life. let God’s word be the
standard for your life.
Prayer: dear heavenly father. I thank you for
your word today. I worship you for being the greatest and the highest. Lord I ask
that you help me that my faith in your word will never fail; that you keep me
in your peace. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
