Prov
3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not
depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his
will in all you do,
and he will
show you which path to take.
Sharon’s fiancé jilted her during their final
year in the university and this really broke her because apart from the fact
that they were both committed Christian students, he depended on her throughout
for his upkeep as he was from a poor Nigerian family. Months passed and Sharon
didn’t deal with her bitterness and anger, she was still angry with God and
refused to hear her mother’s advice to acknowledge
God in all her ways especially now that she was about to marry a wealthy
man who’s Christian conviction was shaky. She felt that when she trusted God concerning her first relationship, it
ended badly, why should she trust Him now…
Her marriage with the wealthy man ended very badly,
she lost almost everything; he molested her when she was pregnant; killing the
baby and ruining her womb.
I do not believe there is any right thinking
Christian who would not want God to direct his way and establish them, but
sometimes discouragements make some Christians ignore seeking God’s face
concerning crucial issues because like Sharon, they think God has failed them
before.
I want you to remember that as long as you love
God and you have a relationship with Him, all things are going to work together
for your Good. It may not seem so right now, but take God’s word for who He is
and see Him bring out glory from the story.
Go into today with a renewed zeal to trust in
the Lord and let Him in on every detail of your plans.
Prayer: Dear heavenly father, I thank you for
your word and your lordship over my life. I pray you give me the strength to
trust you even in difficult situations, in Jesus name I pray. Amen
