Eph 2:1-7
Once you were dead because of
your disobedience and your many sins. 2 You used
to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the
commander of the powers in the unseen world.* He is the
spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. 3 All of us used to live that way,
following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our
very nature we were subject to God's anger, just like everyone else.4 But God is so rich in mercy, and
he loved us so much, 5 that even
though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ
from the dead. (It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!) 6 For he raised us from the dead
along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are
united with Christ Jesus. 7 So God
can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his
grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united
with Christ Jesus.
NLT
Sin brought
death to humankind but Christ came and brought life to us. The only reason you
have spiritual life is because you are united with Christ who is the source of
all life. There is nothing you can do that can possibly warrant this life.
Let your faith
always be in the lord Jesus to sustain you because He is able to keep you and
present you before the father blameless.
New rules and
regulations cannot ultimately make you closer to God. Let your faith be in the
lord Jesus and not in the potency of any rule or regulation. The work of the
devil is to attempt to take us back to laws because he knows that is where his
power is because all that is in the domain of the flesh and not the spirit. Do not
make the mistake of falling for this because that would be undermining the work
of Jesus; let your relationship with God be based on your faith in the lord
Jesus Christ.
Go into today thankful
to the lord for what He did for you on the cross. Thank Him because you are
seated with Him in the realm that is above and beyond all other.
Prayer: My
father in heaven, I thank you for your love and mercy. I pray I will see more
of you and less of me daily; that I will take up my cross and follow you. In Jesus
name I pray. Amen
