Rom 8:3

3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

NASB

The law on its own is not weak, as a matter of fact if it were possible to keep the law accurately; there would be salvation for us because of that. The basic problem with the law was that its requirements were in the flesh, the law walked with the flesh and because of the weakness of the flesh the law could not bring to mankind what God intended.

The law was unable to save us because we were unable to keep the law in its entirety and this was because we all share a sinful weak nature. God solved this problem by giving Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for sin so that we would not have to suffer again the consequences of breaking the law when we accept Him. He did this because of His great love for us.
