DESPISING SHAME 2

LISTEN TO AUDIO VERSION

Heb 2:10

For it was an act worthy [of God] and fitting [to the divine nature] that He, for Whose sake and by Whom all things have their existence, in bringing many sons into glory, should make the Pioneer of their salvation perfect [should bring to maturity the human experience necessary to be perfectly equipped for His office as High Priest] through suffering.

AMP

It is important for you to know that God causes all things that happen to you to walk together for good, He sometimes uses your sufferings as refining tools even more than your pleasant experiences.

When a man passes through a dry period or a period of suffering in life, the experience will either make him or mar him. The way you react to unpleasant experiences will determine which of the two you will get from it- making or breaking.

When Jesus passed through the most unpleasant suffering any man can experience, he didn’t occupy himself with the current predicaments and therefore complained and murmured; He instead set His heart on the glory that was before Him and he despised the shame and unpleasant situation.

There is a call to Christians all over the world to despise the shame in their lives and set their heart steadfastly on Christ and the great, indescribable glory that will come to them in this earth and in the one to come. This is the only way to not make an idol out of your experience but turn them into a tool that equips you for your brighter destiny.

Unpleasant situations come to everybody, your response to them will determine whether they will help make you or mar you. Choose this day to take advantage of everything that comes your way by never losing sight of your glory and your greatness to come both in this world and in the world to come. God’s plan for you is always good and never evil. He will bring you to that expected end no matter where you are right now.

Trust in the lord with all your heart and set your mind constantly on Him and what He is doing in your life.

Inherit God’s kingdom

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO

Heb 2:8-10

Now when it says "all things," it means nothing is left out. But we have not yet seen all things put under their authority. 9 What we do see is Jesus, who was given a position "a little lower than the angels"; and because he suffered death for us, he is now "crowned with glory and honor." Yes, by God's grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone. 10 God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation.

NLT

Jesus is our first born in the kingdom, He is our first brother, and He is the original heir of God’s kingdom and has made us joint heirs with him. We are not only to see the kingdom; God has given us the kingdom- for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom. Except a man is born of the spirit, He cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

Christianity is about the kingdom of God. God is real and tangible to those who are truly in His kingdom. He is not so to those who are without. Only those who are born of the spirit get to inherit the kingdom.

What then does it mean to be born of the spirit?

When a man is born of the spirit, one of the major evidences is that he walks in the spirit; his total being is now controlled from his spirit and no longer from his flesh. This means he now does things not because of the feelings of his flesh and mind but because of the leading of the spirit. Such a man walks by faith and not by sight or feelings (your faith is from your spirit). Because of this man’s spirit led life, he is a just man, and such a man lives by faith and faithfulness to God, for the just shall live by faith.

Being born of the spirit means you are born again and this is literal, it happened to your spirit. It begins by believing in Jesus Christ, that he rose up from the dead; that he rose up with a glorified body, the kind of body that you will someday have and walk on the earth as a SON of God, that he ascended to heaven bodily. You also accept Him as the lord of your life; this means your life now belongs to Him and you let Him rule it. When you do all this, you will be saved. When you live in the light of this truth daily, you will grow into a son and be led by the spirit. This is what it means to be born of the spirit.

Go into today knowing that you are not of this world but God has bought you with a price and you have been transformed into a new creature. Your light shines in darkness and darkness cannot comprehend it.

The world to come

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO VERSION

Heb 2:5-8

And furthermore, it is not angels who will control the future world we are talking about. 6 For in one place the Scriptures say,

"What are people that you should think of them,

or a son of man* that you should care for him?

7 Yet you made them only a little lower than the angels

and crowned them with glory and honor.*

8 You gave them authority over all things."*

NLT

Further study: Rom 8:19-end

There is a world to come, and that world and age is a glorious one, one showing forth the manifestation of the sons of God. This world will be controlled by man and not by angels. This one will be absolutely controlled by the sons of God.

We humans have been made a little lower than the angels and this is not a permanent state, when our bodies  have been redeemed(transformed and glorified) we will be crowned with glory and honor, just like Christ Jesus who is our first born, and we will be given dominion over all things. All things in this context are not limited to things on the earth.

This current world and age is controlled by angels; it is controlled by the prince of this world, who is the prince of the power of the air, who is the devil, who is a fallen angel.

God made the earth for man to rule over not for fallen angels, and until humans take back control of the earth, the earth will never be free but will continue to groan. This is the freedom that Jesus came to give us. There is now the chance of peace on earth and good will towards man because Jesus has come to take away the sin of the whole world.

Will you reign and rule with Jesus Christ in the world to come?

You get to determine this by working the works that the lord has sent you while it is day…Selah

LISTEN CAREFULLY

LISTEN TO AUDIO VERSION

Heb 2:1-5

So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. 2 For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished. 3 So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak? 4 And God confirmed the message by giving signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit whenever he chose.

NLT

It is possible to listen and yet not listen carefully.

God expects us to listen carefully and understand the message of the gospel because it is only when we understand it that we grow.

Jesus has come to give us salvation. He has come to save us from bondage and slavery. When we believe Him and accept Him we have salvation. Salvation is received by grace for we are saved by grace through faith and this faith means believing in Jesus and in His power to save you.

One of the ways that a man can neglect this salvation is by coming to the lord through faith and then thinking he can be made perfect through the works of the flesh or the works of the law. This is what happened to the Galatian churchsee Galatians 3). Your salvation is not because of your righteousness, your salvation is because of your unrighteousness.

Jesus has come to make you righteous so don’t ever think that there are any works you can do that would qualify you for God’s blessings. All you need to do is to continually believe and depend on Jesus for life, life being the power to function in the kingdom of God and in this world.

Believe and trust in Jesus for the life that you need to operate in His kingdom. Have a constant link with the father by talking to Him all the time in your heart- making melody in your heart always to the lord. This can only happen when you don’t feel condemned before God. When there is any unresolved issue in your life, don’t run away from God, run to him to get cleansing and grace. He loves you more than you can ever know and He understands your frame.

Let the grace of God abound in your heart by trusting totally in Him and obeying Him.

Go into today not forgetting to keep a constant link with your father in heaven by always talking to Him- making melody always in heart unto the father.

WHO GOD TEACHES HIS WAYS

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO

Ps 25:9

9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

KJV

It is hard to fill a cup that is already full.

We saw previously that God tells us to wait patiently for Him. those periods of waiting are used many times by the lord to teach us some of the most valuable life lessons.

What makes the difference in how far one goes in life is the knowledge he or she has. The best and most useful knowledge you can acquire for greatness is such as the Lord teach you because He is the one who holds the keys of the universe…

The only people that get to learn from the lord are those who are totally submitted and empty of pride; these are the ones who go far and learn the most valuable lessons of life.

I want us to determine in our hearts that beginning from today, we will be more meek and humble; that we will begin to give ourselves less priority and give the things and the people of God more priority.

Prayer: Father in heaven, I thank you for this day that you have given me to show forth your glory and nature, I thank you for being willing to teach me into all truth and greatness. I pray this day that I will walk in more meekness and self-control; that I will be empty of all self and pride. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen

Jesus is not an Angel

image

Listen to Audio Version

Heb 1:10-14

And,

"Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth,

And the heavens are the works of Thy hands;

11 They will perish, but Thou remainest;

And they all will become old as a garment,

12 And as a mantle Thou wilt roll them up;

As a garment they will also be changed.

But Thou art the same,

And Thy years will not come to an end."

13 But to which of the angels has He ever said,

"Sit at My right hand,

Until I make Thine enemies

A footstool for Thy feet"?

14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

NASB

I have heard a lot of deal made about how Jesus might be an angel or the greatest angel, I have even heard some say He is a great prophet. This is not true. All those who say these things try to prove their point from the scriptures, but we clearly see here that they are very wrong. Christ Jesus is much greater than any angel because He is the creator of the universe and we also see it clearly stated here that He seats on the right hand of the throne of God. Only God sits on His throne.

Jesus was manifested on the earth about two thousand years ago but he actually existed for all of eternity past. He was manifested in the fullness of time to save human kind and bring us into His glorious salvation.

He was born as a baby because every human who will walk the earth legally has to come into the earth realm legally; he therefore had to grow through the human world even though He really was not of this world. We are now to be like Him in that He has bought us with a price and we are no longer of this world.

Prayer: Dear heavenly father. I thank you for your love that you have poured upon me and saved me. I pray Lord God that I will operate indeed like a citizen of heaven and not walk according to the fashion of this world. I pray this in Jesus mighty name. Amen

Faith and Works

Listen to Audio Version

Heb 1:10-12

He also says to the Son,

"In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth

and made the heavens with your hands.

11 They will perish, but you remain forever.

They will wear out like old clothing.

1

NLT

Also See: Ps 8:3

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

KJV

It is very clear from our bible text that the heavens and the earth were made and formed by the lord God.

I used to first think that God only spoke these thing to existence but as I further study the scriptures I find out that the lord God also literally formed these things that exist with His hands and fingers. God speaks and He forms.

This also has a lot to say about we who are God’s children. When we have faith, we are also to have works. Works are the actions that we do because of the faith that we have.

When we purpose a thing in our hearts, or have a desire that has been motivated by the Holy Spirit, we need to start speaking words of power to bring those things into being. The power of words when spoken in the physical realm is enormous in causing things to be formed (as it were) in the spiritual realm, and only then can we embark on successfully building what we have desired in this physical realm

See it, speak it and build it.

Go into today knowing that God has given power to build all that he has purposed for you to build on the earth, be it relationships, business empires, governments, etc.

FORGET NOT HIS BENEFITS

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO

Ps 103:2

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

KJV

I have come to observe that it is very easy for us to forget even very important events. The people of Israel who God led out of slavery by great acts of wonders and signs often forgot the benefits of the lord and were prone to grieving the lord.

We are told today to forget not all the benefits of the lord. One of the things testimonies and praise reports will do for you is it will help you remember the things the lord has done. You may forget the great things God has done or you may forget to remember those things, but it is easier for you sometimes to remember that you testified about that thing that the lord has done for you.

One of the things that remembering His benefits will do for you is that it will empower you in the evil day. When you remember what God has done for you in the past, it gives you strength to know He is going to do something great in the now.

Let us go into today knowing that the lord wants us not to forget His benefits

Prayer: dear heavenly father. I thank you for giving an opportunity to be called your own. I pray that you help me to live in a constant awareness of your benefits in my life. Amen

Love for Righteousness

image

Listen to Audio Version

Heb 1:9

9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

KJV

I was not surprised to see how David turned out when we went to the university. He became known as a bad boy who even had to be arrested and jailed by the police for a while.

We both grew up in secondary school as ‘fellowship’ boys who did not indulge in the unrighteous acts of other boys who didn’t know Jesus in our school. But I noticed that David also felt like he was missing out in not exploring the dimensions of iniquity that was becoming prevalent among the students then in school. Even though he was not doing them, he really admired those who did them.

There is the love for righteousness that God desires in everyone who is being conformed to the image of Christ Jesus. Love for righteousness is not only the state of imputed righteousness or a state of being righteous; it is a state of loving the idea of righteousness. Seeing the beauty of holiness and desiring this more and more even as you walk in it.

There is another very strong indication that one loves righteousness apart from the fact that he is walking righteously, he hates wickedness. He despises iniquity and does not want to have anything to do with it. He does not hate the people who commit such wickedness because hatred for human beings is unrighteousness in itself; instead he hates the acts of iniquity and sees them as they really are- toxic to his system.

Many of us don’t like snakes because they are poisonous and can cause great harm to us, iniquity is even more poisonous and dangerous to your spirit man.

Let us go into today knowing and celebrating what we love- righteousness and despising and hating unrighteousness. Then we will be like our lord indeed.
