KNOWING JESUS

AUDIO VERSIONhttp://goo.gl/u70ccM

Acts 19:13

13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out."

NIV

I saw a publication on the internet saying a book has been discovered which reveals that Jesus was not really crucified. The publisher (clearly an anti-Christian person) was trying to make a case that Christianity will be shaken by this ‘discovery’. In case you were wondering, fairy tales have more degree of antiquity and integrity than that particular piece of ‘discovery’. I wonder when such people will realize that for a Christian, history and documentations of events only correlate our experience of Christ, they are not the basis of our faith. Our faith is based on an experience of the person; the grace, love and fellowship of God.

The seven sons of Sceva (in Acts 19) only heard about Jesus from Paul, they did not know Him personally. We know the rest of their story (See Acts 19:13-16).

If we must experience the fullness of Christ and enjoy Christianity according to God’s plan, then we need an encounter with Christ; an experiential knowledge of Him. We get this experience in the place of fellowship with Him; when there is a desire and hunger for Him.

Go into today determined to take out time and seek the face of the lord. “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” says the Lord -Jer 29:13.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, my heart is open; I want to know you more from today. Please fill my heart with the knowledge of you. Amen
