Numbers 21:9
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.KJV
Whoever looked to the serpent made out of brass was healed! Some died of course because they refused to look. Just as it was in the wilderness, not all that live after Christ's death will be saved, only those that will continue to look to Him will. Jesus was made sin for us (see 2 Cor 5:21) so that anyone bitten by sin may look unto Him and receive freedom from sin and the wages of sin (death).Looking unto Jesus means trusting in Him alone for your salvation.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Heb12:2 KJV).
Note that it is “LOOKING" and not “LOOK" because we are to look and continue to look unto Jesus. It takes determination, endurance and discipline, empowered by grace, to be able to look to Jesus continually.
When we're able to constantly look on Jesus, He then becomes the author and finisher of our faith; that is, He brings us into faith, sustains us in faith and will present us to His father at the end. Amen.
Go into today making up your mind through the grace that is released in Christ to constantly look unto Jesus, knowing that only those that have their eyes fixed on Him to the end will be saved.
Prayer: help me Father to constantly look unto Jesus. Amen
