GROWING INTO CHRIST 2

DEVOTIONAL AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1Mz905S

Eph 4:14

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. NET

One thing that makes Christians remain spiritual children is what I call spiritual malnutrition. In science today, it is a known fact that people are more vulnerable to diseases when they have bad nutrition. Bad spiritual nutrition is a product of bad doctrines and wrong teachings that Christians feed their spirits with. It is worthy of note that the way you feed your spirit is by the word of God that your spirit hears. If the word you hear is wrongly divided or adulterated by worldly traditions, you will not reach the fullness of your potential in God.

The solution to this problem is to first be open minded as a Christian; do not restrict and constrain yourself to one teacher no matter how gifted he is, because one teacher does not have all it takes to make you grow into the fullness of Christ (read Eph 4:11-14). Secondly, let the written word be your standard for judging doctrines, and try to be objective in your study of the word.

Go into today knowing that the spiritual bread of God’s word is always available if you look in the right places. God is too good to let your spirit be starved of its required food and water.

Prayer: Thank God for giving you the grace to hear His word.

Pray that God will renew your mind so that His word will be fruitful to your spirit.

We pray in Jesus' name. Amen
