2 Timothy 2:20-21
20. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. KJV
Four categories were mentioned here: clay (earth), wood, silver and gold. All four categories may be found in the Church. By the end of this series, you should know where you fall and what necessary step you should take.
Category One; “THE CLAY"
This set of ‘Christians’ are natural; they have not met God and are not yet converted. They are only interested in things that amount to physical gain even though sinful. Sinning is an everyday routine, when they cheat they consider themselves smart, yet they go to Church. Going to Church is just another routine; they are unstable just like clay (clay easily breaks).
Note that nothing made of clay was found in the Old Testament tabernacle; likewise, persons in this category will have no part in the new tabernacle (the New Jerusalem) unless they repent and are converted.
To be a part of God's kingdom you cannot remain clay.
Jesus has this to tell us “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Mark 1:15 (KJV).
Go into today knowing that nothing unclean will inherit the kingdom of God (see Eph 5:5). I therefore say, repent of your sins and God will accept you.
Prayer: Lord God, make me a vessel unto honor; sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. Amen.
