Proverbs 8:3
Beside the gates opening into the city, at the entrance of the doorways she (wisdom) cries out: [NET]
Nike and Stanley both came to the university the same day. They were born the same day, but they didn’t know this. Stanley was admitted to study chemical engineering while Nike was admitted to study mathematics.
Because Stanley grew up in a Christian home, he looked forward to when he would be in college and be totally free. The university was simply amazing, he thought. That was the same thought that came to Nike’s mind when she walked through the gates of the campus. But unlike Stanley, Nike asked herself: ‘why am I here? What are the practical steps I can take to achieve my goals in this place? ’. She started out by developing a realistic plan that revolved around class, fellowship, hostel and other occasional social involvements. Stanley on the other hand met guys who were really having fun and wanted to join in the fun. Nike ended up accomplishing her goals and was an excellent student. That wasn’t the case with Stanley because he didn’t have a plan to succeed in the first place.
Proverbs 8 talks about wisdom. We see in today’s Bible text that wisdom cries out at the gates into the city. Wisdom would make a person ask herself questions like these: “why am I here; what is my God ordained assignment in this place?” A wise person would also set goals toward accomplishing her vision; she would develop realistic plans to accomplish these goals.
Go into today determined to heed wisdom’s call by planning your life according to God’s will.
Prayer: Father, please help me develop and walk with realistic plans that will bring me into my destiny, In Jesus name. Amen. Not yet saved? Tap: http://bit.ly/1iTOmol
