IT IS BY GRACE

Audio Version Link: http://bit.ly/1MUHS0A
Eph 2:8-9
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God.[NLT]

When Sandra gave her life to Christ, She did not fully understand God’s grace. She was taught that grace is unmerited favor. And that it was because of this unmerited favor that she was saved. She did not know that grace also meant God’s empowerment toward to us be who he wants us to be.

Because of this, she found Christianity to be an unbearable struggle. She was told that she was to pray for up to an hour every day. It was impossible for her to pray for more than 15 minutes, and by then she would have repeated all her prayer points up to five times. Everything changed when she fully understood the grace of God. She saw strength to do things she never knew she could do.

It is not possible to be a Christian without the grace of God empowering you to be a Christian. This grace is administered to your spirit by the Holy Ghost who lives within you. The more filled with the Holy Spirit you are, the more of God’s grace you will experience. Those who walk in spiritual gifts also do this because of their measure of grace (see Rom 12:6)

It is by grace that we are being saved. It is by grace that we experience anything that is from God. Our works do not and can never qualify us for anything that is from God. Any work we do that is not inspired and empowered by God’s Grace is not recognized in heaven.

Go into today remembering that your walk with God is by His grace, and this grace is abundantly available for you through the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Thank the Lord for saving you.
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you from this moment (see Luke 11:13).

THE FULLNESS OF GOD

Prayer for the sick in today's Audio version: http://bit.ly/25vbyx3

Ephesians 3:19
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. [KJV]

Ola and Folu were friends from childhood. They gave their lives to Jesus at a very tender age and they grew up loving the Lord. They turned out very successful in life.
Ola as a child didn’t take drugs; he believed God was able to heal him. He would always say "by his stripes I am healed". Even when he was stung by a scorpion, he kept repeating those words. He was healed without drugs.
As an adult, Ola never again fell sick.
Folu on the other hand believed that once he had money to treat himself when he fell sick, the Lord healed him through the drugs. His faith in God to provide His needs was strong. Because of this Folu was very wealthy but he spent a lot treating sicknesses.

Both friends chose a dimension of God and it worked for them. But there is more to God than just wealth or health. Jesus has been made the head over all things to us (see Eph 1:22).

Many Christian have limited God and have suffered setbacks in certain areas of their lives. God can be everything to you if you believe Him that much.
Go into today knowing that there are many more dimensions in God that you can manifest if you access them by faith.

Prayer: Lord, I recognize you as Lord over all situations in my life. I stop limiting you and ask that you take over my entire life in Jesus name. Amen

INCLUDED IN HIM

Audio Version: http://bit.ly/1LVSzFr

2 Cor 5:13-16
14 For the love of Christ controls us, since we have concluded this, that Christ died for all; therefore all have died. 15 And he died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised [NET]

Many have asked me how they can live lives controlled by the spirit. I have also asked this question several times.

One very important doctrine Christians must never forget is the truth that reveals to us that we were included in Christ when He died, and because of this, we were also included in Him when he resurrected into eternal life. Understanding this truth is the secret to living a victorious life above sin. It is the secret to live a life controlled by the Spirit.

Your old man of sin has been crucified with Christ, therefore it is dead. All that is left is your new man of righteousness which is actually the life of Christ. It is no longer you who lives, but Christ now lives in you.

Quit thinking that your life belongs to you. Know from today that your whole life now belongs to Christ. Tell yourself this truth until your minds accepts it. Because when this has happened, you will realize that your body no longer belongs to you and you will let Christ control it. This is what it means to accept Christ as your Lord. Lord means owner and controller.

Go into today meditating on this truth:
Gal 2:20-21[NET]: I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside God's grace, because if righteousness could come through the law, then Christ died for nothing!

DISCERNING TEMPTATIONS

Audio Version Link: http://bit.ly/1XXqaQ7

2 Cor 5:7
for we live by faith, not by sight.[NET]

Jide got a promotion with transfer. He was very happy, but his joy vanished when he remembered his work in his local church assembly. He remembered that just few weeks ago, the Lord specifically instructed him to be faithful with his assignment in that assembly; that he was going to be launched to greater heights through his work there. Jide now knew that moving away from the city was not God’s will.
He refused the promotion and was demoted because someone else had already been transferred and promoted to his current position.

As Jide served the Lord in the city, he grew so much in spiritual might that diverse healings were very common in his ministry. He eventually had to resign from his job so that he could cope with the worldwide demand for his ministry.

Every temptation has the goal to drag the tempted away from God’s will. That is why God never tempts us (James 1:13). We may be tempted to do what is wrong, and we can refuse. But when we are tempted to do what seems to be right, how do we discern and handle it?

Let’s remember that our definition of right and wrong is not based on the world’s standards, but based on the word and counsel of God.

When Jesus was tempted by the devil to do things that appeared acceptable and desirable (see Mat 4:1-11), because He had the spirit of God, He could discern and resist the temptations through God’s word.

Acquainting yourself with God’s word builds up your faith, wisdom, and your discernment level.

Go into today remembering that a man whose life is controlled by faith in God will also receive God’s help and guidance in everything.

Prayer: Ask the Lord for grace to always walk by faith. Ask for grace to study and understand God’s word more. Not saved yet? Tap: http://bit.ly/1iTOmol

SIN LEADING TO DEATH 2

Audio Version Link: http://bit.ly/25qsbKe

John 15:1-2
"I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. 2 He takes away every branch that does not bear fruit in me. He prunes every branch that bears fruit so that it will bear more fruit [NET]

When Jesus spared the adulterous woman who was to be stoned to death, He did it on the premise that everyone there was guilty (see John 8:3-10). There was no point killing a woman who did what everyone was already doing.

The reason why God sanctioned capital punishment in the Old Testament was so that it would prevent the virus of iniquity from spreading among His people. God’s design was that if anyone grew under the system of His Law, it was to be very strange for that person to commit certain acts of disobedience like adultery and sorcery, etc. If anyone was found doing such, it proved that the person really hated God, not that the person was pressured into such acts, because the law was to make such acts very strange among God’s people. So in order to stop the virus of iniquity from spreading among God’s people, the offenders were to be killed.

Yesterday, we saw that there is sin that can lead to the Lord allowing believers lives to be cut short (see 1 John 5:16-17).

In today’s Bible text, Jesus tells us that God takes away any branch in Him that is not fruitful. This doctrine is repeated by the Lord in other places (see Mat 7:19-20, Luke 13:6-9). Disease can make a branch that is still connected to the vine to be unfruitful. In order to prevent such diseases (of iniquity) from spreading to other branches, the gardener cuts off the unfruitful branch.

Go into today examining your life to see if you have been fruitful in God’s vineyard. Are you spending your time serving God, or are you spending it serving mammon?

Prayer: Heavenly father, please have mercy on me and purge me from everything that hinders my fruitfulness. Amen.

SIN LEADING TO DEATH 1

Audio Version Link: http://bit.ly/1Rl2Dbp

1 John 5:16-17
If you see a Christian brother or sister sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it. 17 All wicked actions are sin, but not every sin leads to death. [NLT]

Examine these verses:
Gal 6:8-9
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. [NLT]
Rev 21:8
"But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."[NLT]
It is quite clear from the scriptures that all sins, whether great or small, leads to spiritual death.
What then was the Apostle of the Lord talking about in today’s Bible text?
In the early church, because of sound kingdom proliferation and understanding, it was quite clear to the brethren that certain sins Christians committed (especially in rebellion) led to their physical death. Ananias and Sapphira were good examples (see Acts 5:1-11)
I believe this is the reason why Apostle James instructs the saints to confess their sins to one another and invite Christian elders to pray for them if they have a lingering sickness (see James 5:14-16). It was quite common knowledge in the early church that people could get very sick and even die, if certain sins remained their lives. These sins are the sins that lead to death.
Go into today asking the Lord to deliver you from every sin and stubbornness. Ask the Lord to help you increase daily in spiritual understanding.
Prayer: Heavenly father, I ask for grace to walk perfectly all the days of my life. Amen.

GOD'S TIME

Audio Version Link:  http://bit.ly/1Skspv8

Genesis 1:2-3
2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. [KJV]

Josh finished from the university with a very good grade. His friend Joe got employed immediately but Josh went between unemployment and underemployment for years. Even though he served God the best way he could, it seemed Josh was not getting any reward for his work. He was insulted and called names because he wouldn’t compromise his faith to get a job. There was a good job he missed because he wouldn’t lie about his age.
During His period of waiting, Josh used the time he had to study and learn more of God and further grow spiritually. He also invested time in self and professional improvement.

Eleven years after he graduated school, Josh got a big contract, and everything changed for good. In only a few months, Josh achieved more than all his friends put together.

We can see from today’s Bible text that even though the Holy Spirit was present, the earth was void and in darkness. Does it sound contradictory?

God has his calendar and there are certain things His Spirit does in us during our periods of waiting. They are usually things of preparation for the glory He wants to bring to us. Yielding to the Holy Spirit’s work of purification and preparation shortens the wait period.
Go into today holding on to God. Do not let circumstances control your faith. Let your faith control your circumstances.

Prayer: thank God for what He has done and what He will do. Thank God for His great promises that will come to pass in your life.
