Eph 4:11-13
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God - a mature person, attaining to the measure of Christ's full stature. [NET]
Some terrorist intercepted the vehicle Lola was traveling in. They robed everyone in the vehicle of their mobile phones, jewelries, and money. When they finished robbing, they said they were not going to release any Christian who does not renounce Christianity. Lola was the only Christian in that bus who did not renounce Christianity. She said "if I do what you are asking, I am betraying and denying Christ. I cannot do that". Lola said this because she had come to know the Lord personally. For her, renouncing Christianity was not simply renouncing a religion; it was betraying the trust of a person she had come to personally know. When the terrorist were taking her away, they were over speeding, and this made their car to have a ghastly accident. Everyone in the car died, but Lola did not even sprain a single bone. She was rescued by the police.
The knowledge of Christ talked about in today’s Bible text is not theoretical, it is experiential and real. Jesus is real to a spiritually mature Christian. He is not just a person she talks about, He is a person she knows. But this is not usually the case for a baby Christian. Baby Christians are too self-conscious to be conscious of Jesus’ living presence within them.
Go into today desiring to know the Lord more by spending time to seek Him. When you make time for Him, you will see He has time for you, and He is very present in your life.
Prayer: thank you heavenly father for giving me the grace to know Christ more. I pray you help me walk fully in this grace and benefit. In Jesus name. Amen.
