2kings 6:16
And he answered, fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. [KJV]
God told Caleb he would have victory over the challenges he was facing. He received the word and believed it. But at some point, overwhelming situations showed up and he began to doubt if God really spoke to him. He also felt he could be out of God’s will for such challenges to have come his way. One night, Caleb dreamt and saw these words inscribed on a wall: "many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the lord delivers him out of them all". These words were from Psalm 34:19. Caleb woke up with new strength knowing that God was still in control. He eventually came out of all his challenges with testimonies. He was also now better equipped to help others facing similar challenges.
The presence of a challenge is not a sign of God's absence. Many Christians have had to fight some serious battles before getting to their destinations. Paul for instance faced countless challenges in his lifetime (see 1 Cor 16:9) but he fulfilled destiny and is still a blessing to generations. Joseph was sold into slavery and saw trials, but he ended up leading the world and saving His family from starvation.
No matter your affliction today, know that victory is your portion because you believe in Christ. And faith in Christ is what makes you righteous. Remember that the Lord saves the righteous from ALL afflictions (see Ps 34:19).
Go into today knowing that God is on your side and your victory is sure.
Prayer: Lord, I thank you because I have the victory. Please help me never forget that you are always with me. Amen.
