2 Tim 2:21
So if someone cleanses himself of such behavior, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart, useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. [NET]

Some Christians have been deceived into thinking that Holiness does not matter in their lives because of the grace of God. Because of this deception, they live in all kinds of compromises and sins. They do this because they have come to know that faith in God is what really matters in walking with God. What they don’t know is that true faith produces a living consciousness of God. There are certain things a man would not continue to do if he is truly conscious of God’s presence in his life. So Christians who live in compromises are the ones who really do not have faith, no matter how many scriptures they can quote.

If you read the preceding verses to today’s Bible text (from verse 15), you will understand that the things someone should cleanse himself from are summarized in one word called iniquity. Another word usually used for iniquity is evil or wickedness. Iniquity can be defined as when a person continues to do something that he knows is wrong, and does not repent. For example, if you find a Christian constantly stealing public funds in an office, that is defined as iniquity. Or if a Christian is living in a way that he knows is sinful, but he continues in it because of certain benefits.

The way to activate the Lord’s mighty power for exploits in your life is by purging yourself of all iniquity. Don’t let the devil deceive you, those who will do exploits for God are those who have purged themselves from iniquity.

Go into today getting rid of anything in your life that is iniquity. Ask the Lord to help you.

Prayer: Father, please help me to be a vessel prepared for every good work. Amen.
