Ephesians 4:12 [AMP]
His intention was the
perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), the work of ministering toward building up
Christ's body (the church).
We see in today's Bible text that the reason Jesus gave
gifts to the body (the Church) was because he wanted the saints to be fully equipped
and made perfect. Perfection is the degree to which we are conformed to the
image and stature of Christ.
People with the callings to be Apostles, prophets,
Evangelists, Pastors and teachers, are given to the body (the Church) for the
edification of the body. They are the established channels through which the
body receives from the Lord directly.
The purpose of your calling is not for personal edification
[and enrichment]; it is for the edification of the body. If you have a gift and
your goal is not to edify the body with it, you will end up dividing the body with it.
There are many gifts (people) that have not started
walking in their calling because they have not started to edify the body. They
are only directly edifying themselves and dividing the body as a result.
If you have gifts corresponding
to the calling in the kingdom. The purpose of your gift is for the edification of
the body.
Go into today knowing that God's gifts in your life are to
help you fulfill His calling to build up the church.
Pray that the Lord will help you be a profitable servant.
That you will not cooperate with Satan to hide your gift.
