Rom 8:20-21 [AMP]
20 For the creation (nature) was subjected to frailty (to futility, condemned to frustration), not because of some intentional fault on its part, but by the will of Him Who so subjected it — [yet] with the hope [Eccl 1:2.] 21 That nature (creation) itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption [and gain an entrance] into the glorious freedom of God's children.
In order for man to be able to rule God’s creation, God created man in His image and after His likeness. Man was not created in man’s own image but in God’s image. This means man was never designed to be autonomous and self-governing. Man was designed to always live from the resources and the reality of God. Man was to be an extension of God in this dimension of existence. But this process was truncated when man ate the fruit that gave him the ability to rebel against God and seek his own autonomy. This meant a separation from the life and reality of God [which is death] (see Gen 2:17).
Man lost the divine nature that made him able to rule over creation. This meant the serpent was going to take advantage and take his place as ruler of creation. So God cursed creation, but with the hope that His sons will arise and bring creation back into liberty. In the fullness of time, God sent His only begotten son to be the firstborn among many sons who will do this.
Go into today knowing that it is the sons of God [like you] that have the authority to bring liberty and deliverance everywhere they go. Thank God for making you His son.
