Isaiah 48:9 (KJV)
For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off. Praise knew so much about God because his parents were pastors. He’d won many bible competitions and quizzes in his teenage days and could quote many memory verses. By every human standard, Praise should be referred to as sound in the word of God. But, he grew to become familiar with God and became very wayward, doing whatever evil he wished. He would usually say the following: “God does not care”. “The wicked prospers and the righteous suffers. If God cares He should have done something. After all, my grandfather told me that Jesus will soon come, he is dead now and Jesus has not come”
Many today are like Praise. They have refused to repent, yet God is not judging them. They have also seen evil prevail in society and some who chose to follow God suffer, and it looks to them like God does not care. They, therefore, continue in their wickedness willfully.
Is God slack concerning His promises? No. Will He bring every deed to judgment? Yes. What then should our attitude be towards these things?
We must know that we are in the days when prophecies are being fulfilled. Matthew 20:16 (KJV) says “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.” Make up your mind not to be among the first who will become last.
Go into today knowing that the Lord is not slack concerning His promises, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
