Romans 6:14 (KJV)
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Jesse: Pastor, I remember that when I was an unbeliever, I derived pleasure and satisfaction from sin and didn’t feel violated by it. But now that I'm a believer, my spirit is distressed when I sin and this makes me miserable and leaves me feeling violated. But despite this, I still find myself unable to resist certain temptations.

Pastor Ken: The way you now feel in your spirit about sin is proof that you have been fathered by God. And you have to rejoice that you have a healthy conscience. Do not seek to deaden it, and never ignore it.

As regards the inability to resist certain temptations, you have to realize that you have the power in Christ to resist all temptations because you are under the power of grace. Remember that the flesh never seeks to please God, so do not walk in the flesh but mortify the deeds of the flesh (see Rom 18:13). Feed and take care of your body, but don't let it control you. You are the one to control it.

You must also remember to cast out devils from your life. Devils are deceiving spirits that make it very difficult for you to resist certain temptations. Whenever you notice that a temptation is becoming overpowering, it may be because a spirit is involved. Exercise your authority and cast it out. Remember that the first sign that follows believers is that we will cast out devils (Mark 16:17).

Go into today remembering to take advantage of the grace of God by reckoning yourself dead to sin but alive to righteousness (Rom 6:11). Do not ever believe that it is impossible to overcome any sin. Christ has conquered and given you the victory, Walk in this victory by faith.

Luke 16:13, 12:34 (KJV)
No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon… For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Before Joy got her job, she trusted God for everything. She could pray for hours for her smallest need and by faith, she had her needs met. But shortly after the job came and money began to flow, the time she had earlier dedicated to prayer and fellowship with God began to reduce because 'she needed more time for her work'. The more money she got, the less time she had for God. All she ended up doing was attending Sunday services when convenient. Her new slogan was, “money answereth all things”.

Are you like Joy? Have you sold yourself to mammon in the name of hard work and gains? Your friends even know that once money enters your hand it cannot come out again. You are a Christian, but you can do anything to get money. Is mammon not your god?

Has God blessed you with earthly riches? How are you investing it? Are your investments not earthly? Where is your treasure? Where is your heart?

Go into today knowing that you cannot serve two masters: for either you will hate the one, and love the other; or else you will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon..

Prayer: Confess every unfaithfulness, renounce the lordship of mammon over you and make up your mind to be faithful with earthly riches by trusting in God.

Luke 16:13, 12:34 (KJV)

When Satan made his first appearance to man, he came as one of the beasts of the field and not as Satan, this made it easy for man to engage in a conversation with him, and it eventually led to the fall. Today, Satan is out with the same subtleness in a new form called Mammon, his agenda, however, is the same.

What is this mammon?

16:11 (KJV) “If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?”

Mammon means earthly riches. This on its own is not bad, but in the hand of a bad Satan, it is a god that destroys.

How does mammon (earthly riches) become a god?

Basically, through unfaithfulness. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, to be unfaithful means to be disloyal, not adhering to vows, to be untrustworthy. However, considering the root words, that is ‘UN’ meaning without or lacking, and ‘FAITH’ meaning trust, one could define unfaithful as lacking faith or without faith. Hence, when a man’s faith is turned from God to earthly riches, he makes mammon his god.

Unawares, many have turned from God and have yielded their lives to Satan in the pursuit of earthly wealth and riches at the expense of their pursuit of God.

Go into today knowing that whenever your trust shifts to earthly riches, you are empowering Satan’s lordship over you.

Confess your unfaithfulness and make up your mind to be faithful with earthly riches by trusting in God alone.

Psalm 91:11-12 (NLT)
11 For He will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.12 They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.

Henry lived his life under the protection of the Lord and he knew this. The Lord blessed him and made him very wealthy and influential. Because of this, he now had many security guards. Unknown to him, his faith for security was gradually shifting from the Lord to his elaborate security arrangements. This faith shift actually meant he was shifting away from the secret place of the most high and dwelling in the secret place of mammon.

Those who dwell in the secret place of God are those who enjoy the kind of angelic protection described in our main text.

This does not mean we should not take physical measures to protect ourselves, it means we acknowledge and know that we are only safe because the Lord keeps us safe and uses them. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain (Psalm 127:1b)

The secret to walking in the promises of Psalm 91 is to dwell in the secret place of the most high. We have seen earlier that this means to abide in Christ and let His words abide in you.

Those who abide in Christ are those who trust in Him with all their hearts. Trusting in the Lord is the key to abiding in Him.

Psalm 125:1 (NLT): Those who trust in the LORD are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever.

Go into today trusting in the Lord with all your heart.
Prayer: Lord, help me see proofs of your help and protection. Amen.

Psalms 91:11 (NKJV)
For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.

When Amara sleepwalked into the street at night as a little girl, she did not know that she was protected from danger that night by mighty angels. She got to know about this much later in her life when the sorcerer who had been monitoring her family to harm them confessed to her. He was now a Christian and he told her how they planned to kill her that night, but there were certain powerful angels protecting her.

Angelic protection is more reliable than the best human security arrangement. Yet many times Christians take this for granted and do not take full advantage of it through faith.

I remember the story of a celebrated American war hero who would never be killed in the harshest of battles. His fellow soldiers couldn't understand his secret, he was simply fearless. He later told them that he was safer in the battlefield when in the center of God's will than in the safest bunker when outside of God's will. That was his reality. It was clear that he enjoyed angelic help.

Many do not have faith in the protective power of God over them. For some it is because they are not sure they are walking in God’s will, for others, it is because they have not been properly taught. Walking in God's will is made easy when you live in fellowship with God through His Spirit and let His word rule your life.

Go Into today expecting to be protected by God's mighty angels. Jesus has paid for this.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you walk in His perfect will at all times.

Matthew 7:14 (KJV)
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

(Continued from yesterday)
LIKEWISE, THERE IS A WAY

Sometimes we focus on the gate, and forget the way.

Sometimes we don't know the difference between where we are seated, where we are walking, and where we are standing.

We forget that while we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, we are pressing towards the mark for the prize of the upward call of God in Him.

We forget that we are seated with Christ in heaven, walking in Him on earth, and standing with Him against hell. And that while our seating position is fixed on high, it does not change the fact that progress has to be made here in this realm.

We claim everything has been already done and there is nothing left for us to do. But faith is both he who comes to God and he who diligently seeks Him.

Those who pass through the gate must be prepared to walk the way.

At the gate- God loved us, on the way we love Him.

At the gate- we are planted in Christ, on the way Christ is expressed through us.

At the gate victory is delivered, but on the way battles will be fought.

At the gate inheritance has been entrusted, but on the way the heirs will be tested.

At the gate- we are forgiven, on the way- we must forgive others.

At the gate- we are perfected, on the way- we learn perfection.

Let as many, therefore, who claim to have entered in at the gate know that the one proof thereof, and the only, is to walk the way.

Prayer: Lord, help me walk the way.

Matthew 7:14 (KJV)
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

From the scripture above- the gate comes first, then the way. There is that hymn (To God be the glory) that says Jesus yielded His life an atonement for sin and opened the life-gate THAT ALL MAY GO IN.

That's the truth.

If we are trying to walk upon the way without acknowledging that there is a gate to pass through.

It will never work.

We need to know what happened to us at the gate. Without the gate, we will struggle. Until we see the gate, progress upon the way will be impossible, and we will keep going back to start point- repenting again, starting again, instead of moving on to perfection.

At the gate, Christ met us- He loved us, He took us unto Himself. He died for us and rose again. When He died, we died with Him, and when He rose, were raised together.

The gate is not about what we have done, but about what God has done in Christ. God has done everything in Christ, and then put us in Him. The moment we believe it, we receive it, and we become it- not in a hidden way, but manifestly.

Go into today remembering that at the gate we are free, at the gate there is therefore now no condemnation, at the gate old things are passed away, at the gate all things are become new, at the gate we have passed from death to life, at the gate we are a new creation, at the gate we have been healed by His stripes, at the gate we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. Hallelujah!

Galatians 2:17-18 (NKJV)
But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not!
For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

(Continued from Yesterday)
As the preacher sought the Lord to know how to address this issue of licentiousness among his members, it became clear to him that the problem was not with what he taught, but with what he left untaught.

He observed that each time apostle Paul taught about justification by faith (and not by works) he would always say things that made it very clear that this does not in any way give people the license to sin (see Rom 6:1, Gal 5:13, Rom 6:15, Rom 3:31). As a matter of fact, Paul's reaction to these issues appeared very harsh. He was the one who would command that an immoral believer be put out of the church and handed over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved (1 Cor 5:5). He was the one who warned Christians that walking in the flesh produced spiritual death and corruption (see Rom 8:13, Gal 6:8). He warned the disciples against sin, using the example of the Israelites who were wasted in the wilderness because of their sins (see 1 Cor 10:1-12). He said things like 'let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he falls' (1 Cor 10:12).

Pastor Boniface noticed that whenever it came to the matter of the danger of sin, unlike Apostle Paul, he glossed over it and trivialized it.

Go into today remembering that Jesus came to save us from our sins (Matt 1:21). Grace gives us power over sin, not immunization for sin. Jesus blood washes away sin, it does not neutralize sin.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to give you an ear to hear Him alone (Rev 2:29).

Galatians 2:17-18 (NKJV)

But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not!
For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

A Certain preacher started an apostolic work on a university campus. Many of his converts were excited to come to the Lord through his ministry. They were happy to be free from the burden of legalism and religion as they understood that they are justified by Christ and not by their own works.

But as time passed, the preacher observed that many of his followers were now living like sinners and saying that 'it does not matter'. It now appeared as if his ministry was giving certain Christians the license to walk in the flesh and feel secure. This was a big issue that brought great grief to his heart.

Apostle Paul understood that when we seek to be justified by Christ (and not by works of the law), there could be the temptation to wantonly walk in the flesh because we are no more under any moral code. That was why he took his time to warn Christians against walking in the flesh (see Rom 8:13, Gal 6:8, Gal 5:24, 1 Cor 10:1-12). That was why he made statements like the one in today's Bible text.
The doctrine of justification by faith [through grace] may appear to make people comfortable in their sins, but that is when it is not properly and carefully taught or it is wrongly understood.

Go into today knowing that if it appears that the gospel you are hearing seems to make you comfortable in sin, you are either not hearing it right or it is not rightly divided by the person teaching you.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to give you an ear to hear right.

Proverbs 28:1(KJV)
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

Gbemi tried to convince himself that working in that abortion clinic didn't matter, but his conscience would not let him be, and this was now telling on his fellowship with God and hindering him from walking in God's promises. Finally, he decided to leave the Job.

Gbemi was the only doctor in that clinic that could treat patients satisfactorily. The others seemed to have become only abortion experts. His boss knew this and didn’t want him to leave so he requested to see him. When Gbemi told his boss why he was resigning, his boss who was once a fervent evangelist felt condemned by Gbemi's courage and conviction. For a long time, Gbemi's boss had gone out of fellowship with the Lord because of his love of money. It was a slow fade.

As a doctor turned politician, Gbemi's boss had many political enemies and was now afflicted by demons. He could not even sleep at night without pills. Somehow, Gbemi's action reminded him of how low he had fallen. He later broke down in tears of repentance and was restored. This process of restoration was initiated by the Lord through Gbemi's action.

Whenever our consciences bear the guilt of sin, we must do everything to drop that weight of condemnation because a guilty conscience hinders us from fellowship with God and takes away our boldness to walk in His promises. There is a level of spiritual boldness that only comes when we have whole consciences furnished with the consciousness of our righteousness in Christ. The righteous is as bold as a lion.

Go into today remembering that there is nothing in this life as important as your fellowship with the Lord God. Ask the Lord to help you cast away every guilt and hindrance to this fellowship.

Philippians 3:14 (KJV)
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Before a sinful man can think a right thought of God, there must have been a work of enlightenment done within him; imperfect it may be, but a true work nonetheless, and the secret cause of all desiring and seeking and praying which may follow.

In this divine "upholding" and human "following" there is NO CONTRADICTION. All is of God, for as von Hugel teaches, GOD IS ALWAYS PREVIOUS.

Paul confessed the mainspring of his life to be his burning desire after Christ. "That I may know Him," was the goal of his heart, and to this he sacrificed everything.

This is deep calling unto deep, and (only) the longing heart will understand it.

The doctrine of justification by faith -a (central) Biblical truth, and a blessed relief from sterile legalism and unavailing self-effort has in our time fallen into evil company and been interpreted by many in such manner as actually to bar men from the knowledge of God.

Faith may now be exercised without a jar to the moral life and without embarrassment to the Adamic ego.

Christ may be "received" without creating any special love for Him in the soul of the receiver. The man is "saved," but he not hungry nor thirsty after God.

EVERYTHING IS MADE TO CENTER UPON THE INITIAL ACT OF "ACCEPTING" CHRIST (a term, incidentally, which is not found in the Bible) and we are not expected thereafter to crave any further revelation of God to our souls.

WE HAVE BEEN SNARED IN THE COILS OF THE SPURIOUS LOGIC WHICH INSISTS THAT IF WE HAVE FOUND HIM WE NEED NO MORE SEEK HIM.

(These excerpts are taken from the first chapter of Pursuit of God, first published in 1948).

Go into today remembering that what consistently undermines and corrupts the liberating and transforming gospel of grace is 'cheap grace': forgiveness without repentance, and salvation without consecration.

Psalms 23:6 (KJV)
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Gbemi observed that he was not walking in many of the promises of God. He saw that he was not walking in divine health and there were many other areas of his life where the promises of God were not yet a reality.

When this came to his notice, he started wondering and asking why this was the case with him. It didn't take him long to see that the reason was because he lived with a guilty conscience. He worked in a clinic that made most of its profit from performing illegal abortions.

Today's Bible verse begins with the word ‘surely’. If you read Psalm 91:3 you will see that word used again. It says 'Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler…'

One reason Christians do not walk in the promises of God is because many are not sure that they are qualified for them. Instead of saying 'surely' many say 'probably', or 'maybe'. They think about their imperfections and conclude that they cannot walk in the promises. But remember that God’s promises are Yeah and Amen in Christ Jesus and not in you (2 Cor 1:20). This means that the reason we can walk in God's promises is because of Christ Jesus not because of us. It is by faith in Christ (not by faith in our own works) that we received God's promise of salvation; it is by that same faith in Christ that we receive every other promise.

Go into today remembering that you have the power to walk above anything causing a guilty conscience.

John 11:44 (KLV)
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

Further Reading: Ezekiel 37:12, Matthew 27:52-53

A lady had been single for years and was very frustrated. Though she was very attractive and had a good upbringing, she never understood why no man looked her way.

In praise to God, she finally had a divine encounter with Jesus during a church event. After she received the Word by faith, it didn't take long and she was totally overwhelmed with eligible suitors left, right & center, including those whom she knew before. When she asked some of them why now? Many responded "You smelled bad", some said "You looked very old" and others said, "I didn't really see you".

Friends, graveclothes can be so blindfolding and repelling that people won't see the real you and mistake you for someone or something else. However, as said before, grave clothes answer to a command! This command is in THE RESSURECTION POWER OF GOD.

As with Jesus, this Exceedingly Great Power put away the grave clothes (John 20:3-7) and in its place gave Him a glorified body and garment with which He entered the city and appeared to the saints.

Beloved, still wearing grave clothes? You need the Resurrection Power to make you wear living clothes (Roman 8:11). You must come to Jesus if you haven't received Him for this Power to work in your life. I see that shame, barrenness, odor, tatteredness, and stigma terminated. I also see men seeing the real you who is empowered from on high to live a blessed life (Luke 24:49).

Prayer: O Lord by the Power of Resurrection, strip me of every dead clothing in the Name of Jesus.

John 11:44 (KLV)
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

Just when she thought she had escaped it all, a former prostitute turned Christian, while in the company of her husband, ran into an old client who had previously abused her. This confrontation triggered her to go into a deep recluse. It was only then her husband came to realize the reason she couldn't communicate well with him intimately. It was a serious issue.

This evil, limiting in nature, filthy, repelling and borders on rottenness, is known as grave clothes syndrome and is tragically often overlooked and undetected today by its victims.

It is possible for one to be saved (raised to life) and continue as though he/she is still wearing grave clothes like that lady. To the new creation, this is called Evil Conscience and manifests in several ways, such as guilt, unworthiness, false humility, self-penance, etc. These are satanic barriers that limit ones potential for walking in God's favor, fellowship, blessing, purpose, and give the enemy grounds for accusation.

Grave clothes respond to only one thing. A command! The command is in the Blood of Sprinkling. Hallelujah. In Hebrews 10:22 we see the result of the command when the Blood is applied, but in Hebrews 12:24 we discover the details of its application, that is the Blood SPEAKING, thus issuing the command to "Take away the grave clothes". Just like in John 11:44 and Zechariah 3:4, unless the command was issued, the victims could do nothing!

Today, having been reminded of the efficacy of Jesus's Blood, you MUST continue to apply it in order to strip all items of grave clothing in your life while at the same time putting on new clothes through His Word.

Psalms 91:8 (NKJV)
Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.

When calamity befalls a land, it did not just happen by chance. It is usually a result of Judgment for the wickedness of the people of the land. It may even be because of the iniquity committed by the forefathers of the people now suffering the consequences. This happens when it has been proven that the children suffering the consequences have the same disposition of heart as their fathers before them who did such wickedness deserving of judgment.

Many territories have suffered great hardship and it can be traced to the wicked way they treated the first missionaries who brought the gospel to them. Even Jerusalem suffered great distress (around AD 70) because of the way they treated the prophets and the Son of God (see Matt 23:37, Dan 9:26).

Plagues, pestilences, wars, natural disasters and even economic recession leading to great hardship do not just happen by chance. They are usually a result of Spiritual judgment.

God's word to His children today is that ONLY WITH YOUR EYES SHALL YOU BEHOLD AND SEE THE REWARD OF THE WICKED. You did not participate in wickedness and will not share in the punishment of the wicked. Through faith in Christ Jesus leading to repentance from wicked works, you have been washed and made clean by the blood of Jesus (see 1 Cor 6:11). Even though thousands around you fall, it will not come near you.

Go into today remembering that you are not going to partake in the judgment of the land because you have been washed with the blood of Jesus and made righteous.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please show your mercy to the land I dwell because of me, In Jesus name. Amen.

Psalms 91:7 (NKJV)
A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.

When the economic recession in Nigeria started, Nnamdi was afraid that he was going to be greatly affected by it because of the nature of his business. He remembered the word of God in today's Bible verse and decided that he would believe it and live in that reality. One thing he made up his mind he was never going to do was to complain about the bad economy like everybody else did. He would say 'it is a good economy for me, it is not bad'. That was exactly what he experienced.

When some of his major clients defaulted on payments because they could no longer afford to pay, Nnamdi insisted that he was not going down with the economy. Because of his faith and resolve, the Lord gave him the wisdom to become even more profitable than he had ever been. He became wealthier even in the recession.

What you believe and say about yourself is very important. The power of life and death is in the tongue (Prov 18:21). Your mouth confesses what your heart believes. And your heart will come to believe what you often say with your mouth.

The promise of God in today's Bible verse has been freely given to you in Christ. You must activate it by faith and expect to see it manifest in your life.

Go into today remembering that you are not ordinary. You are the apple of God's eye (Zech 2:8). Even if thousands around you are falling, it will not come near you.

Confession: Evil shall not come near me. I am not a victim but a victor in life. I am a winner in life and my light shines. Hallelujah!

RELIGIOUS OR A CHRISTIAN?

Speacial healing prayer in today's audio.
🎧 Audio Version Here☞ http://bit.ly/audio1304

Romans 14:17 (KJV)
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost

Tade and Tayo lost their jobs in the same week. On the Saturday of that week, Tade went for evangelism. Tayo who also was a member of the evangelism unit, however, stayed at home complaining, crying and asking God questions. When Tade returned, she asked Tayo why she was not present for evangelism. Tayo immediately burst into tears: 'why should God do this to me? Why me? I have been faithful; I paid my tithe'. It was at that point that Tade realized that Tayo had not really known God as her Father because she lacked Gods peace and joy.

Christianity is not just another religion, it is a life. Christians are people who have the life of Christ and are Christ-like.

In John 16:33 (KJV) Jesus says "in me you will have peace, but in the world tribulation" and in John 14: 27 (ESV) Jesus says "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid".

You see, Christians are people who have God’s peace. They are joyful even when faced with challenges; they have peace, even in the midst of storms. It is an inward life manifesting outwardly, it is no pretense neither is it complacency. It is real and tangible.

If your joy and peace is tied to things, situations or happenings, you need to check if you really have God in you. God’s peace is from God who is above all. All things are subject to it and not the other way round.

This peace and joy is a mark that distinguishes Christians.

Go into today knowing that true peace and joy are exclusively reserved for God's children. Do you want true peace and joy? Become God's child.

James 4:7 (YLT)
Be subject, then, to God; stand up against the devil, and he will flee from you

When Clara became born again, she did not realize that accepting Christ as Lord meant she was to be subject to the government of God. She was still the ruler of her life. Because of this, she did not have spiritual power and authority. She would attempt to cast out demons, but they would not answer and the situation would remain the same. She knew this because she was still tormented by demons in her sleep.

She realized one day through the study of the word that she was not truly subject to the lordship of Christ. Her life was not regulated by the Spirit of Christ and she knew it. She repented of this and started to live her life according to God's word. It wasn't easy at first, but she found that as she became more and more subject to the authority of Christ, she could wield more and more spiritual power. A time came that even the weather would respond to her prayer. She also observed that the demons that tormented her were just no longer there.

Many Christians do not walk in their spiritual authority because they do not live under the authority of Christ. The degree to which you are submitted to the authority of Christ is the degree to which you will also use spiritual authority. Christ rules your life by His Word and by His Spirit. If there is anything in your life that is contrary to His word, it is a sign that your life is not fully submitted to His authority.

Go into today remembering that it is God's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. This means God wants you to have access to the authority and power in His kingdom.
Ask the Lord to help you totally submit to His authority and walk in it too.

2 Chronicles 36:15-16 (NKJV)
15 And the Lord God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place. 16 But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.

Ray was the son of a respected judge, but was himself unlawful, despising every attempt aimed at correcting him. He was arrested and even sometimes convicted, but his father always found a way to get him out. One of such occasions was the last; he was arrested for murder and charged to court. Like the other times he never felt sorry, but hoped that his father will get him out as usual. And yes! His father presided over his case and really wanted to help him but couldn’t help this time. He was convicted for murder and sentenced to death.

God is our Father and He is full of mercy, He desires that none perish. But His love has been taken for granted by many, and even despised. This God who is a father is also a just judge who will not let sinners go unpunished.

Come to God in repentance now that there is still time to make amends. A time is coming when there will be no remedy, a time of fierce anger and judgment, this is the time when a father will look at his own son and condemn him to death.

God is calling you today. Accept his love now that you still have the time.
Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you walk in His love. Pray for your loved ones who are not saved.

1 John 4:109ESV)
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us AND SENT HIS SON TO BE THE PROPITIATION for our sins.

I remember the only time I suddenly felt faint during my first week as a student at the Accident and Emergency Unit. A patient was rushed in bleeding profusely. If I recall well, she was heavily pregnant and apparently, the placenta had begun to separate from the womb.

My simple duty was to help quickly transfer her from the trolley to the bed, when I suddenly found that the room was into ballet and the ground was suddenly interested in getting closer to me. I had to sit down for a few minutes while the fellows worked to save mother and baby. It was the sight of so much blood.

Blood is a strong sight. It is very precious, and when shed it can be quite messy, staining and marking what it touches. It is not so easy to wash off.

When we talk about the grace of Christ, we are talking about His death, we are talking about His blood. His Cross.

This context, this grace is called the message of the Cross. The message of the Cross is the gospel of grace.

I dare you to watch the movie "The Passion of the Christ" (which is nothing compared to the price Christ paid) and then get up and say the impudent..."GOD LOVES ME NO MATTER WHAT I DO". That would either be a child or a fool or a hardened heart.

Rather, on the one hand, you will break down weeping when you know how much it cost God to show you His love. What Christ suffered. And on the other hand you will get up and make no waste of what is now so precious to you. You will take it and make full use of it.

1 John 4:10 (ESV)
In this is love, not that we loved God but that He loved us AND SENT HIS SON TO BE THE PROPITIATION for our sins.

The more abundant grace is, the deeper the quality of the love shown. The gospel of grace has at its center the COST God incurred.

A gospel that does not present the cost factorial of God's love, is poor in grace and therefore can never be rich in love.

You can never know how much God loves you if you don't know how much Christ suffered and gave up for you.

This is important because Love intends to save but it is Grace that saves. Love saves through Grace. God so loved the world but only those who receive His grace can know that Love and fulfill its intention.

Oswald Chambers said: "Never build your case for forgiveness on the idea that God is our Father and He will forgive us because He loves us. That contradicts the revealed truth of God in Jesus Christ."

Forgiveness of sins is not in the sovereign waving of God's hand. It is in the nail-pierced hands of Jesus. It is in His blood. The question is not only "Do you see the Father's love, BUT ALSO "Do you see the Blood?"

If you cannot see the Blood, you do not know the Father's love. God sees the Blood. The devil sees the Blood. But do you see the blood?

Go into today thanking God for His love manifested in the sacrifice of Christ for you. Ask the Lord to help you walk in the fullness of what Jesus Christ paid for.
