1 Corinthians 1:25 (NET)
For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

Chief Ola was willing to give all his money in order to save his daughter who had a terminal illness. He loved her so much and she meant more to him than all the wealth he had gathered for over thirty years.
As an astute businessman, before he had his daughter, he would have considered the idea of giving away his hard-earned wealth because of a little girl plain foolishness. ‘With all that money, one could marry as many women as he wants and have as many daughters as he wants’ he would think. But love changed him and made him act ‘foolishly’.
Love can make us do things that we normally would not do. It can make us do things that we would otherwise have considered to be foolish.

Today’s Bible verse sounds really strange. It talks about the foolishness of God and the weakness of God. What does this mean? When did the all-wise God act in a way that He could consider foolish or weak?

A lot was put at stake when God became flesh in order to save man. The Lord God, the second person of the Godhead, became flesh and became vulnerable. God became weak and became poor so that we could be made rich (see 2 Cor 8:9).

“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? What are humans that you visit them? You even became lower than the angels in order to redeem them (see Ps 8:4-6, Heb 2:9)? Why not clean up the planet and create a new breed altogether? We know you have the power to do more than that"

But man found grace in the sight of God. God preferred to act ‘foolishly’ and become weak (flesh) in order to save us. That weakness in becoming flesh was still better than human strength. That foolishness paid off. It proved wiser than human wisdom. Today it is bringing many sons to glory. Hallelujah!

Go into today thanking God for His great love for you.
