Predestination 2

See Predestination 1 here: streamglobe.org/predestination/
Download the Audio☞ bit.ly/aud2080

Romans 8:30-31 (KJV)
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

A rich generous king prepared a big banquet and was kind enough to invite all the nobles and honorable people in his kingdom. But unfortunately,  they all despised his invitation and made it clear that they were not coming. Because of this,  he extended his invitation to everyone else-- the commoners were now invited. Everyone else was now to be part of the party. Read Matthew 22:1-14.

Salvation was for the Jews(John 4:22). They were the noble people of God's kingdom because they were the nation separated unto God from their inception. But the door was opened to the Gentiles because the Jews rejected the call of God (Romans 11:12). This was demonstrated in the fact that they were the ones who gave the Lord over to be crucified.
But God was aware of all this. It played into His eternal plan to save not only the Jews but the whole world.

Today,  many are called, and we can see from today's Scripture that it is those who have been predestined that are called. But we also see in Matthew 22:14 that out of the many called,  few are chosen. Our response to the call is what will determine whether we are chosen.
Because man has free will,  the fact that he was predestined and called does not automatically mean that he would be chosen. We have to respond to the call.

For those of us who have responded to the call of God to become conformed to the image of His dear son,  we need to continue in our conviction to the end (Hebrews  10:23). Let's not allow distractions,  pressures,  and cares of this life hinder us from being fruitful. Let us endure to the end so that we would receive our crown and not be ashamed when our Lord appears.

Go into today remembering that God's got you. Your salvation was planned from the foundation of the world. Your life is not a coincidence and all things are working together for your good because you love God and are called according to His purpose.

Prayer: Thank you, Heavenly Father, for choosing me before I knew anything. I ask that you help me walk worthy of this glorious call and please you in all regards. Amen.

Marriage: The Altar and You

Download the Audio☞ bit.ly/aud2078

Genesis 2:24 (NET): That is why a man leaves his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

It was a little cloudy and a gentle breeze was blowing as the choir gave their number. Not long afterward, Vincent and Chidinma stood before the pastor reciting their vows, and in a few minutes the pastor said, “…I hereby proclaim you man and wife…You may now kiss the bride…”

You see, (almost) everybody loves a wedding ceremony. Some look at it with expectations and others with nostalgia mixed with a tincture of sadness, wondering where all the love bubbles went. Here is what you must know. Marriage requires maturity and this comes with character development. When an intending couple goes to the altar and the pastor makes the attendant declarations of joining, a miracle happens; two singles become a married couple. In the words of the scriptures, two flesh becomes one, and this is a great mystery (Ephesians 5:32). However, their character does not change with that declaration.

A believer seeking to enter into this great institution of marriage must be armed with this knowledge that wedding will not change your character, but the rather, marriage will amplify your flaws. A believer’s preparation for marriage must include spiritual growth and maturity. A good checklist will be the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and love as described in 1 Corinthians chapter 13. You won’t automatically get more patience because you got married to the love of your life, actually, you can beat the love of your life to the inch of her life given the right circumstances when patience and self-control is not developed in you.

Noting that spiritual growth comes by the diligent application of yourself to God’s word, I ask, what are you doing with your singlehood? Are your preparations for marriage largely filled with rehashing sweet little words and choosing fancy restaurants? Are you paying attention to yourself? Take heed to yourself, and be deliberate about your spiritual growth.

Marriage: It Is God’s Idea

Download the Audio☞ bit.ly/aud2077

Genesis 2:18 (GNB): Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for man to live alone. I will make him a suitable companion to help him”

One of the dictionary definitions of abuse is the improper use of a thing. This is why even good things can become harmful when they are misused or abused. We live in a time where there is an increasing attempt to take God out of the picture and grope in the dark trying to use the candle of human intellect to navigate through life; that is a mistake. Marriage is one of the places where this mistake is made.

A picture is being painted of marriage that involves just the emotions and decisions of the two persons involved, and unfortunately, some Christians are buying it. But this is an aberration. You don’t go into an institution and decide what the rules and regulations are depending on your whims, rather you subscribe to the laid down regulations of the institution or not enter at all. Marriage is an institution created by God. It was His idea, not man’s. He who created it has also decided how it must be done.

We must realize that marriage is not just about [the emotions and decisions of] the two persons going into it (otherwise if you take that to its logical conclusion then even homosexuality becomes an option). It is an institution that whoever must go into must meet with the entry requirements, and when in it, must run it according to the rules. So it is not just about Chemistry and Biology, it is about God’s will. That is the right outlook to marriage.

Malachi 2:15a “And did not he make one? ... And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed…”

God has clear instructions on who a husband is and how he ought to behave, likewise for the wife.

Go into today determined to approach (your) marriage with God’s will in mind, for God’s will is both perfect, good and acceptable.

Predestination

Download Today's Audio: bit.ly/aud2076

Romans 8:29-30 (NET)
29 because those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

The doctrine of Predestination is probably one of the most misunderstood. Some people think it means there are people that cannot be saved because they were not so predestined. But that is not true. God wants all people saved (1Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9). Jesus did not die for the sins of the predestined, but for the sins of the whole world.

Some others say predestination means nothing. That we are all products of our choices, and we are ultimately the master of our destinies. That also is not entirely true.

Our limited minds may not be able to fully comprehend the dynamics of predestination right now,  just like the concept of eternal life may be difficult to wrap our minds around.
God's realm of eternity is quite different from time. When things happen in time, it is because they have already happened in eternity,  but if they fail to happen in time, they cease to exist in eternity. That's why people's names can be erased from the book of life (see Revelation 3:5, 22:19, Exodus 32:32-33),  even though names were written there from the foundation of the world(see Revelation 13:8).

So important is this realm of time that God invested Himself in His fullness into it. In Christ Jesus(resurrected Christ) dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Things that exist in everlasting dimensions in eternity can be scaled into time. The three [distinct] persons of the Godhead came together and said 'let us make man in our image'. One man in the image of three persons. That should give a picture of the relationship between eternity and time. Yet the things on the earth are only but sketches and patterns of the things in the spirit realm(see Heb 9:23). Here lies the phantom, there the reality.

This should make us sober because decisions that may look like trivial ones here in time do have eternal ramifications of unimaginable magnitude. When Adam sinned by 'simply' eating the forbidden fruit,  he probably did not know how much damage this raked in the realms. It took God to become a man to remedy the damage. The things in the heavens were also defiled and needed to be cleansed because of sin committed on the earth (see Hebrews 9:23).

If a person believes in Christ,  it may look like a momentary decision,  but it has eternal ramifications.

This space is not even sufficient for us to establish a brief foundation for the doctrine of predestination. But if there's anything you should take from today's study concerning predestination, it is that God does not do anything He never planned to do. He is never taken unawares by happenings. He is in control of everything. You can rest in this knowledge.

Go into today with this Prayer: Lord God,  thank you for the awesome privilege of being created in your image. Please help me walk worthy of my calling and please you in all things. Amen.

The Spirit Helps Us 2

Download Today's Audio: bit.ly/aud2075

Romans 8:27-28 (NET)
27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes on behalf of the saints according to God’s will.
28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose

When Dozie could no longer bear the humiliation he was facing at work because he was now born again,  he decided to quit.

Three weeks after Dozie left that organization, police officers invaded the office and arrested everyone. They were accused of money laundering as a financial institution. The international police were also involved in the matter,  and the evidence was so overwhelming. Dozie was spared from going to jail because he followed the leading of the Spirit to leave that organization.

When believers pray in an unknown tongue,  it is different from speaking in tongues. Speaking in tongues is to people and it should be interpreted, but when a believer is praying in an unknown tongue, he is speaking to God by the Spirit,  and no one understands him(see 1 Cor 14:2) because he is speaking mysteries- full of groanings. I believe that no one referred to in 1 Cor 14:2 includes the angels and fallen angels. But God who searches the mind knows the mind of the Spirit. That's how God decodes the groanings of the Spirit for us.

It is in the backdrop of these top-secret communications that all things are made to work together for our good. This is why believers in the new covenant become unpredictable to the devil who normally is a master of probability (see John 3:8).

When you speak in an unknown tongue,  no one understands you(1 Cor 14:2). Today's verses reveal that even God searches the mind of the Spirit to decode the groanings of the Spirit.
Every warfare requires encrypted communication that the enemy can not decipher. In the old testament,  God's people were engaged in a lot of physical warfare,  but in the new,  the warfare is spiritual,  and we have our top-secret channel of communication with headquarters through the groanings of the Spirit.

Go into today remembering that you are not alone in this world. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, is with you always. Because of Him,  you are an overcomer (1 John 4:4).

Prayer: Heavenly Father,  please help me pray in the Spirit and walk in the Spirit always. Help fulfill my divine assignment on the earth, in Jesus name. Amen.

Watching Daily

Download Today's Audio: bit.ly/audio2074

Proverbs 8:34 (NKJ) “Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gate, waiting at the posts of my doors.”

The beauty and quality of your walk with God will depend on what you do on a daily basis. The things we do on an occasional basis hardly produce deep and permanent results in our lives. God is not supposed to just be a part of our lives but the most important person in our lives on a daily basis.
From our lessons previously, it is becoming very clear to us that a daily approach to the things of God is what really matters in the final analysis. This is the best way to enhance our level of authority in the realm of the Spirit. One major reason why a devotional like this exist is to help us start our day with scriptures and something to meditate on daily.

Watching is an act of expectancy; looking forward to something. It’s an attitude of eagerness to receive from God on a daily basis.

The verse above also talks about “waiting”. Watching and waiting are not things we do in a hurry; time is usually spent doing them. From our anchor scripture, you will notice that “watching daily” is God’s expectation; God wants it and he proclaimed blessing on anyone that does it.

There is so much that God wants to add to our lives on a daily basis. All we have so far is just a drop in the ocean of God’s possibilities. There should be an eagerness to have more of God daily.

We watch daily to receive fresh encouragement from the Lord. No mortal man has the capacity to encourage us as much as we can receive from God. Even the best of our friends and close ones may not always be around; this is why we must stay connected to God’s fountain of divine encouragement daily.
We watch daily to receive fresh direction for our lives. The journey of life requires that we keep receiving direction as we proceed in the journey. Once a pilot loses touch with the control towers in the airport, he will end up in a mess.

Go into today knowing that watching daily is actually an act of dependence on God. Knowing that we need God daily no matter what we have received in the past.(Psalms 63:1-3)

Prayer: Lord I am here to receive from you today. Lord I ask for fresh direction on my life today. I ask for wisdom to take the right step and say the right things today.

The Supernatural Dimension

Download Today's Audio☞  bit.ly/audio1723

1 Corinthians 12:1 (WEB)
Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.

Dean had become a grandmaster in the occult. He gave himself so much to the occult because he wanted power. He thought he had power until one prayerful widow moved next door to him within the same apartment.

This woman had more power than Dean had ever seen. She was a real prayer warrior. Many times she prayed in the night, Dean saw strange things like powerful angels whose presence terrified the demons that normally empowered him. Because she was his next door neighbor and her presence and prayers kept terrifying and subduing him, he eventually surrendered to Christ because of her influence.

This woman could lead Dean to the Lord and effectively disciple him because she was not ignorant concerning the things of the spirit and the supernatural dimension of the faith. The first night she slept in that apartment, she discerned who Dean was in the spirit, and from then on she intentionally demobilized him spiritually. That was what ultimately led him to salvation.

She would have never been able to lead a man like Dean to the Lord if she was not exposed to the supernatural and prophetic dimension of her walk with the Lord. Revelations, spiritual gifts, angelic encounters, etc, were not strange to her.

Go into today remembering that you are more effective in life and ministry when you are not ignorant concerning spiritual things.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to guide you into all truth so that you may experience the supernatural and power dimension of His kingdom.

The Battle of The Mind

Download today's Audio: bit.ly/aud2072

Romans 12:2 (KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Man is not just body, man is spirit, soul, and body. The soul houses the mind which is the faculty of the emotions, will, and intellect. The mind is the gateway between the spirit and the body. At new birth, the spirit is saved, the mind(soul) is being saved by the process of renewal and conformity to God's word through the help of the Holy Spirit, and the body will be saved at the appearing of Jesus.

A renewed mind is one subject to the recreated spirit via the empowerment of the Holy Ghost. A man's life is an expression of his thoughts. Proverbs 23:7 says, For as [a man] thinketh in his heart, so is he. God cannot help a man beyond the level of his thinking (read Num13:33). No wonder the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy a man by gaining access to his mind through deception, oppression or total possession.

Since the mind is the seat of our thoughts, a mind not aligned to God's word can't think God's thoughts and consequently, that life will end up on chaos.

Hence Philippians 4:8 Finally says: brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. And Joshua 1:8 says: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. The word of God is the antidote for the old mind. It washes away the old way of thinking and produces a renewed mind that is aligned to God's will. The more you look into the word (and shape your world view through it), the more your mind is renewed and you are able to align with God's purposes for your life.

Go into today thinking on God's word which is pure, lovely, has virtue and can deliver every good report you desire.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to constantly meditate on your word so that my life will be an expression of your grace. Amen.

Romans 8:11 (NET)
Moreover if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through his Spirit who lives in you.

Martha had lived her life in fear of the dark spiritual forces in her village. When she became born again, one of the first things she learned was that Jesus Christ rose up from the dead, and there was no power in hell that could stop Him from resurrecting.

When she understood that the very same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now lived within her, she was no longer afraid of the dark spiritual forces in her village. She knew she now had power over them. As time passed, she became a real terror to them. Her faith now produced such spiritual power that none of them could resist, she who used be terrorized became the one now terrorizing them.

All the while she was afraid of the dark spiritual forces and was even terrorized by them after believing, she had the Holy Spirit living within her, but she didn’t have the faith required to reveal His mighty power.

Every attribute of the divine nature that you have received in your spirit will have to be revealed through faith. Even your righteousness is revealed by faith (Rom 1:17). This means you have to first believe that you are now righteous, and then this faith produces the physical manifestation of your righteousness. In the same way, you have to first believe that you have been healed, and this faith will produce the physical manifestation of your healing, etc.

Go into today remembering to believe and confess everything you have in Christ Jesus (see 2 Cor 4:13).
Prayer: Thank God for giving you all things in Christ (2 Pet 1:3).

Praying The Will Of God

 Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud1352

1 John 5:14 (ESV)
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

Praise was discipled by Precious and they became very close. As time passed Praise observed that whenever Precious prayed, she received answers. Unlike her, Precious did not have to pray and fast all the time to solve a problem. She simply mentioned it to her Heavenly Father or would speak to the situation, and she always got results. When she asked Precious for the secret to this success in prayers, Precious responded: “I have learned to know and pray the will of God”.

The effectiveness of prayer is not always in how long we pray, it is not even in how pressing the need, neither is it in how sincerely we are asking. Prayer becomes effective when God's will [that we know] becomes the basis of our prayer. Note that His will is expressed in His word.

All that you will ever need was known to God, provided by Him and packaged in His will long before your arrival (birth) here on earth. Not living the will of God is living a failure. Jesus taught us to pray that “your (God) will be done on earth as it is in heaven“. This should be the fulcrum of all our prayers. That was how Jesus prayed (see Matt 26:39).

Go into today determined to spend your time and energy seeking to always walk in God's will. I recommend that you read the devotionals titled 'Discerning the will of God' again. Find out what God already said concerning your needs and ask God from that standpoint. I guarantee you will become more effective.
Prayer: Father, help me always walk in Your will

Titus 2:11-13 (NET)
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

After Byrum believed in the Lord Jesus,  he was baptized in the Holy Ghost, and as a result, was empowered by the Spirit to overcome his addictions and live a godly life. This happened because he submitted to the instructions of righteousness given to him by his pastor. He had to change his apartment because his neighbor was his drug dealer, he had to leave his old friends and totally disconnect from his old way of living. He was filed with the Spirit and was taught to stay filled. In this way,  his body was empowered by the indwelling Holy Spirit(Romans 8:11) and he could cope with the withdrawal from the drugs. He spent a lot of time praying and singing in the Spirit because he needed to stay filled with the spirit. The infilling of the Holy Spirit affects even our mortal bodies.

One of the things the grace of God would teach us is that "bad company corrupts...(see 1 Corinthians 15:33). Those who are taught by grace become very particular about the company they keep. They guard their hearts with all diligence by guarding the information they feed into it.

We saw yesterday that the grace of God trains us or teaches us how to reject ungodly ways and fleshly lusts. There are very practical things we must be willing to do in keeping with the teaching of grace. We must be willing to forsake our worldly ways and deny the flesh.

Go into today remembering that as a student of grace,  you have to be willing to obey the demands of God's kingdom for your life. This is the only way to allow the divine life to excel over the old life.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please lead to your green pastures and help me be fed and led by your living word. Help me to live a godly and fruitful life. In Jesus name. Amen.

The Blessed Hope 3

Get today's Audio: bit.ly/aud2070

Titus 2:11-13 (NET)
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people.
12 It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
13 as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

When Byron accepted the Lord Jesus,  he was a drug addict who had been to the rehab twice. He didn't believe it was possible for him to overcome his addiction to drugs until he came in contact with the grace of God.

After accepting the gospel,  he realized that he was now enrolled in God's educational system. Through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit and the ministry of the Word, he was trained to reject all his previous godless ways and to now live a self-controlled godly life. Because he was a medical doctor,  he understood the physiological ramifications of his addiction,  so he knew that it was the power of God that made it possible for him to be trained out of his addictions into a godly life.

Many believers talk a lot about grace but experience too little of it because they do not realize that grace empowers us to overcome sin through a training or educational process administered by the Holy Spirit and the ministry of the word. Believers who give very little time to the learning of the word will experience very little grace in their lives.

Today's Bible verses show us that the grace of God trains or teaches us [how] to reject ungodly ways and fleshly lusts; grace trains us [how] to live godly lives in this present world. But you cannot isolate all these from the backdrop of our blessed hope as believers. This hope is the expectation of the glory that will be revealed in us when the Lord appears.
This expectation keeps us pure as we await the appearing of our God and Savior Jesus Christ (see 1 John 3:3).

Go into today remembering that the grace of God is appropriated in your life through submission to discipleship and learning.
Every believer is a disciple. The word disciple means follower, student or apprentice. Every believer in Christ is a student of grace.

Prayer: Lord, please help me know greater measures of your grace daily. Amen.

Romans 8:24 (KJV)  For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

When Sharon was a little girl,  she used to be very afraid of the dark. This fear stayed with her until she became an adult. But when she accepted the Lord Jesus,  she realized that she had the ability in Christ to conquer all her fears. One of the first lessons she learned was to change her expectations and align them accordingly. This was how she conquered her fears.

Sharon used to be very afraid because her native expectations were always negative. She feared the dark because unknown to her,  her expectation was that bad things are bound to happen to her in the dark. This was generally her outlook to life, and she lived in so much fear.
But she overcame her fears when she rearranged her expectations according to God's word and promises. She no longer expected evil to meet her in the dark because she now believed that "surely, goodness and mercy shall follow her"(Psalm 23:6).

The way the word [translated as] hope was used by the early believers is very different from the way it is used today. Hope for them was a sure expectation predicated on God's promises, not just wishful thinking.

Today's Bible verse shows us that our salvation was predicated on certain sure expectations based on God's promises.

Most of the expectations of our salvation are things pertaining to eternal life, not merely things pertaining to this temporary form of life (see 1 Cor 15:19). Because you are saved,  you would not perish like the rest of the world but have everlasting life and rule and reign over the universe with Christ forever (John 3:16, 2 Timothy 2:12, Revelation 21:7). Because we are saved and abide in Christ,  we would rule and reign with Christ over this very same earth for a thousand years when Jesus returns, and thereafter, would replace these heavens and the earth with a new one (see Revelation 20:1-6, 21:1). Because you are saved, you are empowered by the Holy Spirit to live according to God's script concerning you(see Psalm 40:7-8). You will be rewarded according to how faithful you are.

Go into today with your hope unwavering, remembering that our faith is a substance of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1). True faith is predicted upon expectations informed by the word and promises of God.
-Abraham Damilola Arigi

Prayer: Ask the Lord to fill your heart with the right expectations so that you would live accurately before Him in accordance with His will.

For The Joy

 Get today's Audio: bit.ly/aud2068

Hebrews 12:2(KJV) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

God's eternal plan, is to establish His kingdom both in heaven and on earth. Scriptures make us understand in Revelations 21:1 that even after this present earth passes away, a new heaven and earth will come. One in which Christ and all the saints will rule forever.

Scriptures says in 1 John 3:2-3 that: Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." This should make you joyful. You are going to be like Christ. Mortality shall put on immortality, life shall swallow up death forever. Our flesh shall be celestial, not this terrestrial that perishes, this corruptible shall put on incorruptible (1 Corinthians 12:53). Glory to God!

So for this joy, for this kind of majestic life, for the glory which shall be revealed in us, for the hope that we have of being like Jesus, we purify ourselves as He is pure. Hallelujah!!! We allow God's Word that is spoken to us to wash away every impurity in us, for we are cleansed by the Word that is spoken to us (John 15:3). We give free course to God's Word to reproof, correct and instruct us in righteousness, thereby becoming perfect and prepared for good works at all times, as we await His glorious appearing (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Hallelujah!

Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for the Joy that is set before me to reign with Jesus for eternity. And for this joy, I purify myself, through the instrumentality of Your Word and Spirit that You have made available for me. And I will be presented in Your glorious presence at Your coming, by Your Spirit, perfect and without blemish to enter into Your joy, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Victory With Good Deed

Get today's Audio: bit.ly/aud2067

Romans 12:21(KJV) Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

it is known throughout history that communities and nations that always retaliate every evil attack meted against them would never know peace because from generation to generation, one side is always retaliating against the other side. That's one reason why total peace in the middle east is still a dream.

One of the virtues of the Spirit that comes into our lives when we received Jesus is the ability to be restraint even in the face of strong hateful bashing, especially when we could just as well give as much as we have received. And that's what Jesus taught us in (Matthew 5:38-39).

Our lead scripture enjoins us to pay evil with good. It continues thus: as far as it is in your power, live in peace with all men (Romans 12:18). We decide the way we respond to things done to us, that is our prerogative. Our human default system is configured to pay evil with evil. That is how it operates, but until you reset it through the renewing of your mind with God's Word, your human default system will always pay evil with evil and not good with evil.

The only way evil deeds can be defeated is through good deeds. When someone wrongs you, instead of responding in equal measure, wisdom teaches us to respond with good. This is why I will always say this, we don't have any true enemy in the flesh. Our only enemy is Satan that works in and through people.

Go into today remembering to respond with good at all times when people trespass against you. This is the only way to overcome evil and end its malignant spread. Philippians 4:8 should always ring in your heart.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your wisdom which You have shared with me. I trust in You to work in me through the instrumentality of Your Word to always do good in the face of adverse evil. For I know that as I continue doing good, I will always gain victory over evil, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Love Not The World

Download Today's Audio: bit.ly/aud2066

1 John 2:15-17 (KJV)
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Ada believed that she loved God,  but she realized that she didn't have a robust relationship with the Lord as she needed to.
She had seen Linda her friend pray simple prayers and receive instant answers from the Lord. She saw how Linda had peace in spite of any situation because of her relationship with the Lord. Ada knew that she did not have this. She later realized that even though she claimed to love the Lord,  she still loved the world so much. This was the reason it appeared as though she was not known by God.

One of the many advantages of loving God is that you will be known by God (see 1Corinthians 8:3). Of course, God knows everyone, but what 1 Corinthians 8:3 is talking about is what Linda had that Ada did not have. Some people have the Lord's ear,  but most people do not. The secret is loving God.

It is impossible to love God and love the world at the same time. You can only deceive yourself that you love God if you still love the world because love for the world would always make you do things that show that you don't truly love God. A person who loves the world would love the things that are in the world. They include lust(lust of the flesh),  greed(lust of the eyes)  and pride(pride of life).
If a person loves lust,  he would find that he would regularly disobey the Lord in that area. Ada had a boyfriend who would come and spend the weekend with her at least once every month. She knew this was wrong because she knew God did not approve,  but... She still loved her lust (a thing in the world).

For some,  their number one pursuit in this life is material things and money. This lust motivates even their prayer discipline and spiritual practices. They do not realize that a person who truly loves God has God's kingdom as his first priority, wealth and other things become additions to facilitate his kingdom assignment, they never become the priority of a person who truly loves God.

Pride of life is the reason people compare themselves with themselves and have 'sleepless nights' because they too want to be seen as successful. Living that way is too much of a burden for the soul of a man who would be productive in God's kingdom.

Go into today remembering that the love of the Father and the love of the world cannot exist together in any human heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to search you and expunge from your heart every love for the world and the things therein.

Prayer: Heavenly Father,  please help me to love you and enjoy a robust relationship with you. In Jesus name. Amen.

The Blessed Hope

Download Today's Audio: bit.ly/aud2065

Romans 8:22-23 (NET)
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now.
23 Not only this, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption, the redemption of our bodies.

Whenever you hear of an earthquake,  a tsunami,  or a volcanic eruption,  it is a sign that creation is groaning and suffering.
Whenever you struggle to pray,  struggle to meditate on God's Word, or struggle with the flesh,  it is a sign that you too are groaning. God didn't make us to struggle, God created us to enter into His rest.

The first fruits of the Spirit are manifestations of the Holy Spirit within us. When a believer begins to interface with the power of the Holy Spirit,  he would immediately realize that there is much more for him in God,  but he would also realize that there is a great hindrance to walking in these realities.

It takes a level of spiritual maturity and walk with the Spirit to realize that our spirits are groaning in expectation of something. Very much like the way a woman in labor groans in expectation.
But what is this expectation for which creation and believers who have the firstfruits of the Spirit await in groaning? It is the resurrection of the dead. This is when mortality shall put on immortality. This is when our bodies would be changed to glorious bodies that cannot die,  grow old or decay. These bodies have the capacity to reveal our true nature as sons of God. When the resurrection happens, creation too would be set free from its bondage of corruption. This earth would begin to work properly and would be able to relate with man according to the original design. During the millennial reign of Christ and the saints on this earth, the earth would know such peace and harmony that has never been experienced. We would take charge of every territory on earth and bring peace to the nations.

Go into today with the hope of our calling sure in your heart. When the Lord returns, the dead in Christ shall rise first,  then those who are alive would also resurrect into the glorious body that can manifest the glory and power of God in ways our minds are too limited to fully comprehend right now.
