Sanctification 2

🔊 Audio Version with Audio Bible Here☞ www.bit.ly/audio1194

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (ESV) Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sharon would say, “It is my flesh that committed that sin, my spirit is holy and cannot sin”. Even though this sounds ludicrous, Sharon was correct to an extent, but she was fundamentally very wrong because man is not judged for what his spirit did or what his flesh did, man is judged for what he did. Whether it was your flesh that committed the sin or it was your spirit, you committed the sin.

A sin like hatred is never really committed by the flesh, but by the spirit. It is a defilement of the spirit that ultimately leads to the defilement of the flesh when blood is in the hand of the hater because of murder. That is the same with the sin of malice that leads to hatred, and can ultimately lead to murder.

It is very important to note that God does not look at the body, but at the heart when he is dealing with man. Every uncleanliness that is manifested in the flesh is because the seed was left to grow in the heart. Immorality is a very good example. No one just falls into immorality without the seed of lust allowed to grow in his heart.

The old covenant saints only knew how to sanctify the body, their spirits were as unclean as they could be, that was why it was possible for them to hate and kill Jesus.

Go into today remembering that the Lord has done what you could never do. He has sanctified your spirit and this is the reason you can fellowship with the father and receive grace for the sanctification of the soul and the body.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for sanctifying me. Help me walk accordingly in Jesus' name. Amen.

Set Apart For Holy Use

Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ www.bit.ly/aud2206
John 17:17 (AMP) Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the truth. Your Word is Truth.

Jide had always wanted to do great things for God. He remembers the day he was saved as though it were yesterday. So great was his gratitude to God that he vowed to spend his days serving God, reaching the nations and drawing millions to Christ. However, some years down the line and it looked as though nothing were happening. Instead of the big call to do great things for God, he had instead been stuck in a rot. He was getting a bit disillusioned and was beginning to wonder if perhaps God was even willing to use him.

Jesus praying for His disciples shortly before his death prayed the Father to not take away the disciples from the world but rather to sanctify them with the truth. The idea of sanctification connotes being set apart for holy use. Where ‘holy use’ does not primarily refer to the usage but rather to the User--God. As far as the believer is garbed in this jar of clay, he remains God’s worker waiting to be posted to any assignment of God’s choosing. However, God will use those who have made themselves available for His use and are usable.

The day you got born again, you got initiated into God’s workforce, however, you need to report to duty and be given the proper training, tools, and work plan for the work. God’s word, accompanied with prayer, is God’s instrument for beating the believer into shape for duty. As you abide in the word and give yourself to it, the word will work on you by the Spirit of Truth to become available and usable. The truth of God’s word sets you apart for holy use. You will begin to think His thoughts, you get plugged into His frequency and you will find your place in His team and your name on His roster.

Jide began to actively seek the Lord in prayer and meditation on His word, all the while jettisoning his grandiose plans of ministry. He found God’s plan for his life begin to unfold before his eyes. And step after step of faith and obedience, he walked deeper and farther into God’s divine call for his life.

Remember, if you allow the world, it will beat you into its own mold. But if you allow the word, it will transform you so you can do the good, perfect and acceptable will of God. Go for the word.

Prayer: Lord, sanctify me and make me usable for your good purposes. Amen.

Honor Your Father and Mother

Ephesians 6:2-3 (KJV)  ‘‘Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise). That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.’’

The following conversation ensued between Ayo and her friend Joy:
Ayo: My network is bad, please can I borrow your wifi?
Joy: What do you need the internet for so urgently?
Ayo: I need to send some money to my parents
Joy; Oh, Okay O.
Ayo: Hope you’ll send something to your Mum too?
Joy: No, I won’t.  She’s not born again and I don’t want to be involved with her.
Ayo: Ah! She’s your mother! Remember she’s a widow and you’re her only child.
Joy: So? see, I don’t know what she'll do with the money, she often visits witch doctors.
Ayo: You can call her at least and send her some foodstuff and groceries.
Joy: I can’t Ayo, don’t you get it? I'm in the light and she’s in darkness, we don’t have anything in common.

Ayo tried to convince Joy but couldn't.  Even when she told Joy that honoring her mother is a command from God, joy would not budge. Joy was a regular victim of demonic attacks because her life was ruled by fear and not by God's word. A true believer who walks in the light[of God's word cannot walk in any bondage.

Just like Joy, so many are violating the Lord's commandment today and wouldn't take care of their parents. They do this claiming that darkness and light have nothing in common. Note however that the Scripture didn’t say "obey your unbelieving parents, instead, it says, "honor [them]". One of the ways to communicate honor is by giving your substance (Proverbs 3:9). Even when your parents are rich and do not need you to take care of them, it is still required that you honor them (give them a regular honorarium) because they are your parents.

Go into today knowing that if you don’t honor your parents, you’re disobeying God (Leviticus 19:21). Read Exodus 20:12. Obeying this commandment of God comes with a promise of blessings(see Ephesians 6:2-3).

Prayer: Ask God to forgive you if you have not honored your parents in the past. Make amends and begin to walk in the light of God's word and glory.

Living for Pleasure

Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ www.bit.ly/aud2204

Beware of scammers! No one in Streamglobe would contact you personally to request WhatsApp Code or money
1 Timothy 5:5-6 (NET) But the one who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives.

Shehu did not abide but went back to the world because he was lured by fleshly pleasures. Before he accepted the Lord Jesus, he was addicted to drugs and other dirty habits that gave pleasure to the flesh. After he believed, he left those habits, but later went back to them because he wasn't properly discipled and didn't know how to create the atmosphere of grace around him that would suffocate the spirits of lust-- his best friends were still unbelievers.

Romans 8:13 reveals that if a believer lives according to the flesh, he will die.
The thing about living according to the flesh is that the believer has become one that lives for fleshly pleasure. Living for fleshly pleasure produces spiritual death (see today's Bible verse). A spiritually dead believer is as disconnected from God as an unbeliever. He is open to satanic manipulations and assaults and no longer enjoys the communion of the Holy Spirit. This is one of the saddest things that happen on earth. It will never happen to you in Jesus' name.

Go into today remembering that believers who indulge in [sinful] pleasure are toiling with spiritual death. The only way to overcome the power and chains of sinful pleasure is by the power of the Holy Spirit. This power is activated when we give ourselves consistently and intentionally to prayer and the word. By praying in the spirit, our spirits are charged with grace and this even affects and strengthens our mortal bodies (see Romans 8:11). On the other hand, our souls (mind: thoughts, desires, imaginations) are brought under the subjection of God's Spirit and power when we give ourselves intentionally and consistently to the sincere word of God. Jesus says His words are spirit and life (see John 6:63).

Prayer: Lord, deliver me from the trap of sinful fleshly pleasures. I ask that you help me live for you and please you in all things. Amen.

Confession: I'm of God. I don't live for sinful pleasure, I live to please Christ, and I am fruitful in every good work. Amen.

Christ the First Fruit

Audio Version Here☞ www.bit.ly/2audio1930

1 Corinthians 15:20 (NET) But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

A few days ago I was looking at some mango trees with most of their fruits yet to mature, but these same trees already had a few mature and ripe fruits. Even though most of their fruits would not be ready until at least two months from now, there are some of them with few ripe fruits right now.

Those few ripe fruits are what is called the first fruits. The other remaining fruits are yet maturing but the first fruits have already been harvested.

When you see the first fruits, you are sure that the other fruits will follow in due time.

Jesus Christ was raised from the dead as the first fruit of those who have fallen asleep. This term ‘fallen asleep’ is only used for believers who are expected to ‘wake up’ on the resurrection.

We believers in Christ are sure of our resurrection because Jesus has already resurrected as our first fruits, and because he has resurrected, we too would resurrect.

Go into today thanking the Lord for the privilege to partake in the resurrection. It is our resurrection that would usher us into the fullness of our glory as sons of God and literally set the whole of creation free from the corruption (see 1 Corinthians 13:9,10,12, Romans 8:21-23).
Living with the consciousness of your coming resurrection is the way to live as a believer. This consciousness would put all things into a proper perspective and reduce the inflated perception of the temporary glory of this present world to its real size.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the assurance of resurrection into glory just as my Lord has resurrected into glory. Please help me live with this hope and experience a foretaste of this glory in this present life. Thank you, Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Be Careful How You Build

Audio Version Here☞ www.bit.ly/2audio1188
1 Corinthians 3:11-12 (NET) For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ. 12 Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw.

Tosin believed that God had called her to minister healing to the sick. She had the spiritual gift of healing and manifestation of the prophetic, and her ministry was all about her spiritual gifts. However, unfortunately, she would minister healing to many sick people without bringing them to the knowledge of Christ. Even the believers who were in her ministry were not growing to become more like Christ. Because there were more and more people showing up every week, Tosin believed she was building accordingly, but one day she had a dream and saw that she had been building with hay since the day she started ministry.

Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith. We cannot be Christians without Christ. Our goal as Christians is to become like Christ. As we grow spiritually, we grow into the fullness of the stature of Christ.

Any kingdom work you do cannot count if it is not built on the foundation of Christ. This means in the final analysis, everything your ministry seeks to establish is Christ in the lives of people- That Christ may be formed in them (see Gal 4:19).

Whatever your vision may be in ministry, never forget that it must be about Christ- it must be about people growing and becoming more like Christ. It must be about establishing the Lordship and righteousness of Christ everywhere. It must never be about anything else (see 1 Cor 2:1-2).

The more Christ-centric a ministry is, the more precious the material used by the builder (minister).

Go into today asking the Lord to help you build with gold and precious materials.

Access Through Faith

Audio Version Here☞ http://bit.ly/2audio1187

Ephesians 3:12 (NLT) Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God's presence.

When Nonso heard the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, he realized that the reason he could approach God was not because he did what was right but because he had faith in Christ Jesus. This faith made him have unlimited access to God’s throne, and there he received grace to do what was right. He was now a righteous person from within and no longer the actor he had been all his life.

Unknown to him, the biggest temptation he was facing was the temptation to start thinking that his access to God will now be because of his righteous works, and no more because of his faith.

God’s presence is the air your born again spirit breaths. Life becomes miserable outside of it. Sin becomes a lifestyle outside of the grace supplied through it. Any Christian who thinks his access pass to God's presence is by anything other than his faith in Christ will live a miserable life.

The devil will always try to keep you from God’s presence because he knows he does not stand a chance against you if you dwell in God’s presence. The devil’s most potent weapon for keeping us away from God’s presence is by tempting us to sin, and accusing us and making us feel God has rejected us and we no more have access to Him. If we believe the devil’s lie, we lose our boldness to fellowship with God. Many Christians fall for this and suffer because of this ignorance.

Go into today remembering that if you still have faith in Christ, you still have unhindered access to the Father. Running away from His presence is not the way to get clean, running to His presence when we feel dirty is the way to get clean.

Understanding Commitment

Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ www.bit.ly/aud2203

Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NET) When the fig tree does not bud, and there are no grapes on the vines; when the olive trees do not produce, and the fields yield no crops; when the sheep disappear from the pen, and there are no cattle in the stalls, I will rejoice because of the Lord; I will be happy because of the God who delivers me.

Words can be used to communicate a lot of things. Faith, love, compassion among others. One other thing words can communicate is commitment. Commitment, akin to faithfulness, describes a man’s unchanging and unwavering devotion to a person or cause regardless of changing circumstances.

Faithfulness is an esteemed virtue in God’s Kingdom. In Galatians 5:22, the Bible mentions it in the fruit of the spirit, and likewise 1 Corinthians 4:2 reads “Moreover, it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful”. Commitment to God is our resolute dedication to him (his cause, his word, and his person) even in the face of adversity.

Faith, when present in the heart, overflows through the lips, likewise, commitment is also often expressed in words. Sometimes, declarations of commitment have been mistaken for speaking unbelief and doubt but far from it. When a declaration of commitment is made, what is being said is not “I declare that things will get bad” but rather it is saying, “no matter what comes, it will not change my commitment to God”.

Remember the three Hebrew boys in the book of Daniel, this is what they said, “If it happens, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up” (Dan 3:17-18 WEB). This is not a declaration of doubt, it is saying even if the worst were to happen, we will still be faithful to our God. This is how committed we are to Him.

The Bible teaches to rejoice always and, in all things, to give thanks. So, in the words of Habakkuk, even if the fig tree does not bud, the faithful man will still rejoice in and because of the Lord.

Go into today resolved that come what may, you will be committed to God and will not be put to shame.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be faithful. Deliver me from any form of unbelief. Amen.

Identifying False Teachers

]
🔊Download Audio Here ☞ www.bit.ly/aud1926

1 Timothy 6:3-4 (KJV) If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmising

I have heard of certain teachers who teach doctrines that contradict the teachings of Christ. They say that 'the things Jesus taught were meant for Jews and not for Christians' or 'Jesus’ teachings were before the New Testament and are not valid for New Testament believers'. They forget that every testament (will) is given before and not after the death of the testator. The death of the testator simply ratifies and brings it into effect.

Such teachers are the ones Apostle Paul is referring to in today's Bible verses. They claim to know much but actually know nothing. How can someone who has an understanding of God's Word say that the things Jesus taught were not meant for those who believe in Him?

Yes, there were things the Lord could not teach His disciples because they could not receive them without the help of the Holy Spirit (until the Holy Spirit came and baptized the Gentiles in the very eyes of the first Apostles, they could not believe that Gentiles could receive God's salvation), but the things the Lord taught and commanded His Apostles were meant for believers, and He instructed them to teach these things to other [new] believers everywhere (see Matt 28:20).

Go into today remembering that one way to identify those who spread false teachings is that they claim that certain things Jesus taught are not meant for the believer. They also claim that certain other portions of the New Testament are not meant for the believer.

Prayer: Lord, please immunize me from the deception of those who spread false teachings. Amen.

Let Us Have Grace 2

Download Audio Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1925

Ephesians 2:8-10 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

George grew up in a Christian home. He didn't remember exactly when he accepted the Lord Jesus because he had known the Lord from when he was a child.

Because he had lived a morally upright and disciplined life all his life, he started taking the grace of God for granted and giving his upbringing all the credit. Because of this, he became a very religious person with no spiritual power. He was afraid of witches and demons and was even now being tormented by them in his dreams.

But after remembering and acknowledging the grace of God as the reason he was a believer and an upright person, it was as if a door was opened for him to know the Lord and grow in grace and spiritual power.

One of the signs that a person has laid hold on the grace of God is that he would not be able to boast about his good works, he would rather give all the glory to God because he acknowledges that they are a product of God's ordination long ago. Such a person would not be judgmental and would be quick to forgive because he realizes that if it were not for grace, he would have been as bad as anybody. That's why those who cannot forgive cannot continue to grow in grace (see Matt 6:15).

Go into today remembering that it is expedient that we walk in grace and not in our own works because the only way we can serve God acceptably is through the empowerment of grace (Heb 12:28). Those who acknowledge the grace of God as their source of strength would continue to advance in it.

Prayer: Father, thank you for your grace that saves me and empowers me to do your good works. Please help me grow in this grace and in the knowledge of you (2 Pet 3:18). Amen.

Let Us Have Grace

🔊Download Audio Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1924

Hebrews 12:28 (KJV) Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear

After Terso believed in the Lord Jesus, he met some brethren on campus who had much grace to pray and fast. Because he was close to them, he also received this grace to pray and wait on the Lord. Because of this, there was great power in their midst, such that through them great miracles were performed.

But as Terso left the country to another country for studies, he found that the grace he enjoyed while on campus seemed to be waning. He could no longer pray the way he used to, and his spiritual adventure appeared to now be an uphill battle.

He had routines and disciplines he trusted to keep him in grace, but that was where his problem came from, he trusted in systems rather than in Christ for grace.

You are saved by grace through faith, not of yourself and not of works lest you should boast, but it is the gift of God (see Ephesians 2:8-9).

Whenever you see a man under grace working hard, it is because grace is empowering him, and he would not be able to take credit for it but would attribute it to the grace of God (see 1 Cor 15:10).

When you see a man begin to take credit for the work of grace, he is beginning to fall from grace and walk in disgrace. This was exactly what happened with the people of Israel. By the time the gospel was revealed, they had forgotten that their election as God's people was simply because of God's grace and not the works that followed. They could not receive grace because they were already full of trust in their own works and routines.

Go into today remembering that grace produces good works but trusting in good works do not produce grace, only trusting in Christ alone imparts grace(see John 1:16). Grace is received and multiplied by trusting in Christ and abiding (knowing and growing in) in Him (see John 15:4, 2 Pet 1:2,).

Dressed In Fine Clothing

Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ bit.ly/aud2202

Zachariah 3:3-4 (NET) Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood there before the angel. The angel spoke up to those standing all around, “Remove his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “I have freely forgiven your iniquity and will dress you in fine clothing”

Do you know that a lot of ‘good’ persons will go to hell?

It was in Luke chapter 18 verses 18&19 that a man came running to Jesus and said, “…Good master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus responded saying, “…Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone”

You see, God doesn’t judge the way man does. For man, goodness is relative and comparative. Men tend to consider people who treat them with kindness as good persons and those who do not as bad, which is why even the worst of persons has someone who considers them as good. Again, men tend to judge people’s goodness in comparison with others. For example, a public servant who performs his duty to the fullest but misappropriates funds is considered good especially in comparison to the corrupt official who neither carries out his duty and yet is guilty of gross misappropriation of funds.

God’s valuation of ‘good’ is defined from his nature and character. This is why  man without possessing the nature of God will at best be the best-behaved sinner. Hear how Prophet Isaiah described it, “We are all like one who is unclean, all our so-called righteous acts are like a menstrual rag in your sight. We all wither like a leaf; our sins carry us away like the wind” This is the state of every man without Christ.

In Christ, we are provided with new clothes purchased by his death on the cross, washed in his blood and made clean with his righteousness. When we wear this new garment, we can only boast of His Righteousness and not ours, we now have nothing to boast of in ourselves. This new garment represents the forgiveness of your sins and the impartation of a new nature, God’s nature, to you. That is the fine clothing.

Have you been dressed in this fine clothing? Have you received forgiveness of sin by faith in Christ Jesus? Are you born again?

If no, you can do that now. If you believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God who died for your sins and by his death has obtained forgiveness of sin for you and with your mouth, you confess him as Lord and savior, you will be saved. Why not do that now.

Faith or Risk?

Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ bit.ly/aud1922

1 John 5:14 (KJV) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.

Jide grew up very poor so one of his greatest desires in life was to become very rich and powerful. He wanted to own the biggest house in his village and drive the most expensive cars.

When he realized that through faith, people could receive things from the Lord, he decided to begin to apply faith towards his dream of riches. He took many risks. There were times he wouldn't eat properly because he had given all his money in hopes that he would receive the kind of riches he wanted from the Lord.

Jide didn't receive the riches he expected from the Lord. He later found out that it wasn’t that God didn’t want to make him rich, but his motive for asking was wrong, it was pride of life. God does not reward bad motives.

For your faith not to be you just taking risks, your faith has to be based on the word and will of God. If there is anything to learn about God's predestination, it is that God doesn't do anything He never first planned to do.

The power of God would not work to furnish your pride or massage your ego, it would work to fulfill God's word and do His will. The onus is on us to ensure we are found within His will.

When dealing with God, your motive and the state of your heart is very important. God would rather give you something simply because you ask and desire it than give it to you to furnish your pride and lust (see James 4:3).

One of the most effective ways of asking and receiving from the Lord is to factor your request within the context of what you are sure is God's will for you.

Go into today remembering that God's will is superior to your faith, and God would not do anything against His will. Ensure that your faith always aligns with God’s will so that it would be fruitful.

Every Believer Is a Minister

Ephesians 4:11-12 (NIV) It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.

"I am not called into any of the fivefold ministries, I’m just going to live a good and simple Christian life; God has chosen not to call me into ministry! I guess I’m one of the many called by God but not one of those chosen by Him to serve. But I really want to serve God, I want to be used by God" lamented Praise to his Pastor.

Just like Praise, there are many who think they must function in one of the five-fold ministries before they can serve God. However, today’s Bible text shows that the five-fold functionaries have the responsibility of preparing God’s people for works of service.

You see, God has you in mind, He also wants you to serve as a minister. The Apostles, the Prophets, the Evangelist, and the Pastors and Teachers were placed in the Church by God to teach and equip everyone else for the work of the ministry, and it is by your service that the body of Christ will be built up.

If you are a child of God who is baptized in the Holy Ghost, you have been commissioned for ministry already. You are a minister of God's reality in any place you find yourself.

Acts 1:8 (KJV)  reads, ‘’but ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth’’. If you could receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit, then you are to be a witness unto Christ.

Go into today knowing that every believer is a minister and that God officially commissioned you as a witness when the Holy Ghost came upon you.

Prayer: Father, thank you for trusting me so much that you made me one of your ministers. I receive grace to effectively do your work in Jesus' name. Amen.

Take Heed How You Hear

Mark 4:24 (AMP) And he said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you – and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.

Words are powerful and potent. Words have the ability to communicate power, courage, and strength, however, words can also communicate discouragement, unbelief, doubt, and fear.

When Cornelius, a very devout man, was praying and an angel appeared to him and directed him to Peter, this is how Peter recounted what the angel told him, “And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter; Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.” Words, power-filled words.

Again, hear Peter cry out in John 6:68 after that many of Jesus’ followers had deserted him and Jesus had asked the 12 if they too would leave. Peter said, “…To whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life”.

You see, words can communicate the power of God unto salvation, however, they can also subvert hearers and cause them to stray. Here is Apostle Paul’s warning to Timothy, “Remind people of these things and solemnly charge them before the Lord not to wrangle over words. This is of no benefit; it just brings ruin on those who listen”, and again he said, “But avoid profane chatter, because those occupied with it will stray further and further into ungodliness” (2 Tim 2: 14&16).

The words you hear and expose yourself to continually will have an impact on your life. If those words are communicating ungodliness, fear, doubt, and unbelief, you will begin to see them manifest in your life. However, the more you consciously expose yourself to God’s words which communicate his love, power, faith, and godliness, you will likewise see them manifest in your life.

Be careful what you are hearing, what you are giving thought to and meditating upon, your life [and spiritual health] depends on it.

Go into today resolved to give more thought and study to the truth of God’s word.

Say these words, ‘O how I love your law! All-day long I meditate on it. Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for I am always aware of them’ (Psalm 119:97-98 NET).

An Intercessor Or A Fault Finder?

Luke 18:1 (KJV)  And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.

For a very long time, Judith complained and murmured about the inconsistencies she noticed in her home Church. Her exposure to true apostolic teachings had opened her understanding so much that she picked up errors so easily. She became even more surprised when the same continued after she had left her local Church for another branch in the city. She eventually left that branch for another but the same continued. It was after attending the fifth Church that she began to think that the problem was with her, so she decided to commit herself to God in prayers and she got a quick response; two passages were given to her by the Holy Spirit:

The first was Philippians 2:14 (KJV), ‘‘do all things without murmurings and disputings’’ and the second is, Luke 18:1 (KJV)  ‘‘and he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint’'.

Judith understood immediately that God had opened her eyes to those inconsistencies so that she would intercede for the Churches.

If God has called you to be an intercessor, he will often allow you to see faults and weaknesses in others and your natural response may be to complain, murmur or criticize such persons, but God’s reason for allowing you see such faults or weaknesses is so that you would intercede.

According to God’s standard, you are to be careful for nothing; but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6 KJV).

Go into today knowing that your duty as a child of God is to pray and not to murmur or complain.

If you don’t like it, pray about it. Remember that men ought always to pray.

Prayer: Father, help me to always pray instead of complaining in Jesus' name. Amen

Cast Not Your Pearls before Swine

Beware of scammers! No one in Streamglobe would contact you personally to request WhatsApp Code or money.
Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ bit.ly/aud1918
Matthew 7:6 (KJV) Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

After Henry believed in the Lord and was delivered from many dangerous habits like smoking and gambling, he now saw more clearly how those habits were destroying his life before he believed. Because of this, he tried persuading his old friends from such habits, trying to show them how bad these habits are for their health and even their finances, but they laughed at him and hated him even more. All he tried to do was to help them, but it was working the other way round.

We can see from scripture (see 2 Pet 2:22) that the metaphor of dogs and swine are used for rebellious 'believers' (who would not be corrected because they have turned from the way and are not deceived or ignorant but know what they are doing) or unbelievers. We are not to expend our teaching, counseling, prayers and time on such believers who have denied the faith (see 1 John 5:16).

There is no need to waste your time to convince an unbeliever about the dangers of his habits (he most likely already knows), what he needs is the gospel. It is when you see a speck in the eye of your [Christian] brother or sister that you can expend your resources and time in removing it through prayer, teaching, and loving counsel. But you can only be effective in this when you have already removed the log in your own eyes (see Matt 7:5).

Go into today remembering that you have limited time on this side of eternity. Make the most of it for God’s kingdom profit (see Eph 5:15-16).

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you to be more fruitful in His kingdom this new week.

Be Quiet or Shout Louder: Your Choice

Beware of scammers! No one in Streamglobe would contact you personally to request WhatsApp Code or money.

Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ bit.ly/aud2198

Mark 10:48 (NET) Many scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Do you remember the parable Jesus told in Luke chapter 18? It is the story of a woman who brought a petition to a very hard judge. The judge had no fear of God nor of man. He refused to hear or heed the widow’s petition, but as a result of the widow’s importunity, that is her persistence to the point of wearing him out, he gave in and heard and heeded the widow’s plea. The Bible tells us that Jesus told this parable to the end that men ought always to pray and not to lose heart (Luke 18:1).

When you are at the point of need, you will always encounter voices that seek to disparage and discourage your faith. Bartimaeus is no stranger to such voices/influences. He was crying out for help to the one who could help however the crowd will have none of it. “Keep quiet!” they scolded him, “Don’t create a scene,” they said. At that point, he had a choice to make. Act sophisticated and remain blind or be branded uncultured and receive your sight. You might still refer to him as Blind Bartimaeus, but I tell you, he shouted all the louder and was healed of that blindness.

Many today will crumble under the weight of the pressure to fit into people’s expectations to the detriment of their faith. That is not for you child of God. The righteous are as bold as a lion, importunate in prayers, persistent in faith, holding fast their confession of faith until they through faith and patience obtain the promise of God over their lives.

The victorious Christian has settled it in his heart that there is nothing to be ashamed of about his faith in God. He will pray in tongues without self-consciousness, he will boldly affirm that God reigns in the affairs of men, he will continually stand upon his watch to hear what God has to say to him. He doesn’t wish to the mountain, he says to it, “Be moved and be cast into the sea”, not fearing what people would say.

That was Bartimaeus story, what will yours be? Quiet or louder?

Go into today determined to always pray and not to lose heart.

Pray like this: Lord I thank you for your word is true. Therefore, I will be importunate in prayer, persistent in faith and continual in thanksgiving.

Ministry In The Marketplace

Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ http://bit.ly/aud1538

Romans 12:6 (NET)
And we have different gifts according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith.

Mayowa believed that God had called him to be a prophet because he had prophetic gifts. As he became closer to the Lord, it became clearer to him that he was not called to the pulpit, but to use his anointing in the marketplace and represent Christ there.

He was a businessman, and he would use his prophetic grace to understand business trends and patterns. He would attend business meetings with people deeply involved in the occult, but they would not be able to subdue him. In a matter of six years, he dominated his industry. And this was because of the grace of God upon his life. The Lord made him very great because the Lord wanted him to become a policymaker in his country through his business influence. Politicians would seek his consent before making certain decisions in the land because of his influence.

One big mistake believers make is thinking that the anointing of God upon their lives is strictly meant for Church ministry. Daniel got to the point he got to in government because of the anointing of God upon his life. Jacob became a successful businessman because of the anointing of God upon his life (Gen 31:10-11). David was a successful king who never lost a war because of the anointing of God upon his life. Joseph ascended to the highest office in the land because of the anointing.

Go into today remembering that as believers, we are agents for the advancement of God’s kingdom wherever He has placed us. It is time for us to start taking advantage of the anointing of God in every area and conquering territories for God.
Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you always represent Him well.

Manner of Thinking 2

Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ bit.ly/aud2197
1 Timothy 5:4 (NET)  But if a widow has children or grandchildren, they should first learn to fulfill their duty toward their own household and so repay their parents what is owed them. For this is what pleases God.

After Kemi became a widow, one of the reasons she didn't remarry immediately was because of her children. All the men who showed interest in marrying her couldn't hide the fact that they were not interested in her children. If she had married any of those men, it might have meant that her old parents would have to take care of her children because they would not have a happy childhood in her new home. Because of these reasons, she chose to remain unmarried. As a believer, she didn't put her convenience first but considered her children and her parents. She wanted to repay her parents by making their lives more comfortable, not making it more stressful because of her choices.

Beyond the obvious subject matter, today's Bible verse reveals an attitude of mind that every Christian should have. A true believer should carry his own burdens and not have the character of pushing over his responsibilities to others because of his personal convenience. Many today have an entitlement mentality and would not think twice before pushing their responsibilities to others if they can. That's not the Christian way.

In the kingdom, we have a mind to carry each other's burdens, not a mind to impose our responsibilities on others.

In the world, it is more blessed to receive than to give, but in the kingdom, it is more blessed to give than to receive. This principle should guide our thought processes as new creatures in Christ.

Go into today knowing that the renewal of heart and transformation of mind through the Word fundamentally changes us from self-centered selfish people into selfless loving and giving people. Any believer who has not conquered self-centeredness will find that his ability to manifest the reality and power of the divine nature is greatly limited.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the heart and mind of Christ. Deliver me from the old nature of selfishness and fill my heart with your love. Amen.

Care For the Needy

Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ bit.ly/aud2196

1 Timothy 5:3-4 (NET) Honor widows who are truly in need.

From my study of the Bible, I have found that there are three groups of people God is particularly concerned about because of the peculiarity of their need. They include the widows, the orphans, and the aliens or refugees(See Jeremiah 22:3, James 1:27, Deuteronomy 10:17-18, Psalm 146:9). These are people that find themselves in disadvantaged situations and could suffer a great deal if no one comes to their rescue.

The word translated as honor in today's Bible verse is a word that depicts the giving of an honorarium. An honorarium is defined as a payment in which custom or propriety forbids a price to be set. When scriptures say 'honor your father and mother', this is what it means. You are to give them an honorarium. Honoring your parents doesn't just mean bowing to great them and leaving them to go hungry, it means setting aside money regularly to give to them.

The church is expected to give to widows in need. In the old days, women hardly did jobs with sufficient income that could take care of their children, so if they became widows, they became really stranded and in need of help. Even today, there are widows like that in the church, and it is God's will that the church sets aside resources for them. It is not good for children of widows in the church to be left to become street kids and vagabonds because no one takes care of them.

Go into today remembering that godliness involves giving to the needy around you (see James 1:27). This is one of the most effective ways of shinning the light of the gospel.

Prayer: Thank you Father for the privilege to give to You. Please give me a heart that truly cares for the needy and shines Your light to them. Amen.

False Prophets - The Way of Balaam

Go Here to download Today's Audio P☞ bit.ly/aud1913

2 Peter 2:15 (NET) By forsaking the right path they have gone astray, because they followed the way of Balaam son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness

Now there is another category of prophets who started as true servants of the Lord, but along the way, because of mammon, they have ended as enemies of the cross (see Phil 3:18). They can also be classified as false prophets.

The first known prophet who entered this kind of error is Balaam. He was a prophet of Almighty God but an enemy of God’s people brought him money to help place a curse on God's people. Balaam initially refrained because he understood that it was wrong for him to do such a thing. But because the people who came brought money, Balaam kept asking the Lord to let him go and place a curse on His people, people who like Jethro, Balaam was supposed to be on their side.

After trying several times to no avail in cursing God's people, he gave their enemy a strategy that ultimately worked in getting God's people to walk in iniquity so that they would be destroyed.

Even though he was supposed to be a prophet of God, Balaam worked against God's kingdom agenda because of money.

There are many prophets today who are walking in the same error as Balaam. They have used their spiritual skill and anointing to help the kingdom of darkness (some without knowing it) rather than edify God's people because they want more money. Many of them have twisted the word of God knowingly just because they want to extract more money from the people.

Instead of feeding God's children with the sincere milk of God’s word that would help them grow into the stature of Christ, they have fed them with the milk adulterated with worldliness that would keep them as babes who would continue to depend on them and fill their pockets with money.

Go into today remembering that you cannot serve God and serve mammon (see Matt 6:24). Any attempt to do the two as a servant of Jesus would lead you into the way of Balaam.

Prayer: Lord, please deliver me from walking this evil path and help me depend on you alone. Amen.

Manner of Conduct 2

Click Here to download audio version ☞ bit.ly/aud2195

1 Timothy 5:1-2 (NET) Do not address an older man harshly but appeal to him as a father. Speak to younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters – with complete purity.

Christian was so offended by Chidi that he took to the social media to make certain disparaging posts about him. Chidi was in the wrong and Christian decided to get back at him by revealing his secrets on social media and "destroying his life".

A few months passed and there was a problem Christian would normally pray about and fix, but he found that he no longer had the requisite spiritual authority. This troubled him greatly and thus led him into a season of waiting on the Lord. It was during this season that he realized that what he did against Chidi was wrong. All the while, he had felt self-righteous about his actions because Chidi really hurt him. But in the presence of God, he remembered that his own biological brother had done something similar to him and he never took such actions against him but forgave him because he was his brother. His error was that he did not realize that Chidi too was his brother, and because he was not rightly discerning the body of Christ, he functionally denied himself from the right to exert the authority of the body.

From today's Bible verse, we see a golden principle that every believer should imbibe. In dealing with fellow believers, we are to remember that they are literally our brothers and sisters. Let us treat them as we would our biological brothers, sisters, and parents. This is how to rightly discern the body of Christ.  Believers are members of one family and should treat each other that way.

Go into today remembering that because of the new birth you have in Christ Jesus, what joins you with your Christian brothers and sisters is stronger than flesh and blood. Remember that believers who rightly discern the body of Christ are those who can appropriate the benefits of the body.
Prayer: Lord help me rightly discern your body and walk in the benefits thereof.

Manner of Conduct

Click Here to download audio version ☞ bit.ly/aud2194

1 Timothy 5:1 (NET)  Do not address an older man harshly but appeal to him as a father. Speak to younger men as brothers

Before Mike accepted the Lord Jesus, he believed that the only thing in a person that made that person warrant his respect is if the person has more money and power than him. So he would respect only elders that have more money and power than him but disregard those that he has more money or power than.
But after Mike accepted the Lordship of Christ, without any teaching on this subject, because of His fellowship with the Holy Spirit, he just knew that his former manner of conduct was wrong. He found that he now intuitively respected his elders because they are his elders and not because of any other reason.

Apostle Paul sent Timothy as his representative to establish the churches in Ephesus.  Even though Timothy was a young man, he was occupying a seat of great authority over the churches in that area, and he had such authority that he could normally rebuke anyone in the church, including the elders. But by the Spirit of the Lord, Apostle Paul is instructing him in today's verse not to talk harshly to an elder.

In the kingdom of God, we respect our elders even if we are more powerful than them and they are under our authority. This is a sign that we respect God rather than money/power. A person who only honors mammon will not honor an elderly person he has more money and power than. But one sign that a person fears the Lord is that he would respect his elders, even if he is more powerful than them.
A person who truly honors his parents would honor other people who are in his parent's age group. That's just the way man is wired.

From the old Testament, we see that the Lord instructs His people concerning respect for elders.
Here's what the Lord says in Leviticus:
Leviticus 19:32 (NET)  You must stand up in the presence of the aged, honor the presence of an elder, and fear your God. I am the Lord.

Go into today remembering that if a person truly fears the Lord, it will show in his conduct. Remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me show honor to whom honor and is due. Give me the wisdom to lead wisely whenever I have the opportunity. Amen.

Manner of Thinking

🔊Download Audio Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1910

1 Corinthians 14:20 (NET) Brothers and sisters, do not be children in your thinking. Instead, be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.

Aku grew up among some of the most cunning and dishonest people, so this made him very suspicious and untrusting. This affected his relationships with his friends even after he became a believer,  and this even affected his relationship with his wife because he was too suspicious and untrusting.
As he became more spiritually mature,  he understood that because he was in Christ,  he was not the one taking care of himself but the Lord. He stopped being suspicious and untrusting.  He realized that being that way had not really helped him in life. It alienated his friends and made it impossible for him to enjoy the peace of God. Even though he remained wise and observant, he stopped being a suspicious untrusting person because he now understood that his life was God's idea and his security God's responsibility.

In today's Bible verse, we see a very important guiding principle of thinking that every believer should imbibe. We are not to be children in our thinking, but when it comes to evil and malice, we are to be children. We can afford this because we are children of Almighty God.
There are revelations that God cannot reveal to believers who are too simple and childish in their thinking and reasoning. But there are depths of peace that cannot be reached by those who are too suspicious and untrusting.

God wants us to be advanced and critical in our reasoning because He wants to reason with us(see Isaiah 1:8). He doesn't want us to be simple thinkers who can be swayed by winds of highfalutin doctrines.
One way to ensure we are not simpletons and childish in our reasoning is for us to have hearts that seek knowledge and understanding. “…with all thy getting get understanding” --Proverbs 4:7.

Read, ask questions, seek to know. The internet is not meant only for social media but can be used for wisdom and understanding imparting research.

Prayer: Lord, give me a heart that seeks wisdom and understanding. Amen.
