The Spirit of Christ 1

🔊Download The Audio Version Here: http://bit.ly/aud2429
Romans 8:9 (NET) You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him.

Tony accepted the Lord Jesus in a neighborhood house fellowship. Because the leader of the fellowship sensed that Tony needed to be ministered to for deliverance, he told Tony to wait behind and be ministered to. That day, Tony was delivered of demonic possession and was also baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. His heart was so filled with joy that it was evident to his friends and neighbors that "something has changed about Tony".

Tony had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit but he needed to learn of Christ and become like Christ. This is what is called discipleship. The indwelling Holy Spirit within him changed his appetites and gave him a desire for the word and presence of God.

Even though Tony received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, if he does not continue to abide in Christ and bring forth fruit, he would be as a branch cast out and trampled underfoot of men(John 15:6, Matthew 5:13).

After believing in the Lord Jesus and receiving the Holy Spirit, it is important we grow and walk in the spirit(Character) of Christ because it is only those who have the spirit of Christ that belong to Him.

Go into today remembering that it is not just those that say “Lord, Lord”, but those that do the will of God are those who will enter the kingdom of heaven(see Matthew 7:21). If Jesus is truly your Lord, then you will do His will.

Prayer: Father, help me abide in Christ and be fruitful. Help me live a life that is ruled by Your will, In Jesus name. Amen.

Why Ask 1

Click this link to listen to the audio version ☞ https://bit.ly/audio1874

Matthew 7:11 (NKJV) If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Most good earthly fathers and mothers don't have to wait for their children to ask them for things they need before they give them. Sometimes, our earthly fathers and mothers are the ones to notice that we have a need and meet it before we even realize that we have such needs.

But God is more gracious than the best parents in this world. As a matter of fact, when you compare the goodness of the best man to that of God, that man would seem like an evil person. That's why Jesus said in today's Bible verse that 'if ye then, being evil... '

Why then do we need to ask our heavenly Father before we receive certain things from Him? Why does He keep encouraging us in different parts of His word to ask in order to receive (see Psalm 2:8, Matt 7:7, James 1:5, James 4:2b, etc)? Being so good and loving and kind, why doesn't He just give us all we need and we not needing to ask Him first?

When God made man after His image and likeness, He created in man the ability to have self-will and self-government, and man was to live by submitting this will and government to God. Through the fall, man declared independence from God, and in effect, disconnected himself from the life and government of God. Because God had already given man dominion over this realm(see Psa 115:16, ps 8:6) and God does not go back on His word, man was now the master of his destiny and Satan his master through sin.

Now that God is redeeming man from the fall, He needs men to ask Him before He can do certain things for them. Asking God concerning your needs [and wants] does not inform Him about them (He already knows them), asking Him gives Him the spiritual legal license and access to invade your life and help you. Many times, He needs us to give Him this license by asking Him, that’s why He keeps reminding us to ask.

Because of the fall, almost every action of man is saying to God that "I do not need you. I can survive on my own". Asking God would undo that and say "I need you". And there are times we need to continually consciously keep asking so as to sufficiently undo the rebellion that the accuser of brethren is using as a legal ground against us.

Go into today remembering that prayer is earthly permission for heavenly invasion. Let heaven invade your life today with God’s goodness.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to give you the grace to always pray according to His will.

Receive with Thanksgiving

Click this link to listen to the audio version ☞ bit.ly/aud2172

1 Timothy 4:4-5 (NET) For every creation of God is good and no food is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer.

Growing up, we used to drink soya milk and eat other meals made with soy. As we grew older, we were told that soya wasn't good because it caused infertility issues. I remember we no longer consumed it for some time until much later when some medical experts said soya oil is one of the best oils to consume. Today, I have read several articles that insist that soya oil is one of the least favorable oils to consume because it messes with certain body hormones. Butter that was once said to be unhealthy is now highly recommended as one of the best oils for daily consumption.

Today, there may be many things we consume that may not be good for our bodies, but we do not know. Some may even be consumed because we were told that they are good while they are really not good for the body.

For the believer in Christ, we are not under any laws regarding the food we eat. As long as we receive our food with thanksgiving, it would be sanctified and made good for us. It is very important for the believer today to understand and believe this truth so that he would have the required faith to connect with this reality.

Many diseases are caused by the wrong diet. Many times, people don't even know what in their diet is culpable. But for the believer who serves the Lord(as we all should), the Lord promises to bless our food and our water and take sickness and disease from us (see Exodus 23:25).

It is an error to make a doctrine out of matters of diet, but it is very easy to fall into this trap and spend more time talking about diet than talking about Jesus. Let's be careful that we don't expose ourselves to elemental spirits but live in the liberty that Christ has purchased for us.
To the best of your knowledge, eat as healthy as possible, but be careful not to let your trust in Christ's grace for divine health be replaced with trust in a diet plan. It has been proven time and time again that there is more to life than food...(see Matthew 12:23).

Go into today remembering to receive every food set before you with thanksgiving so that it would be sanctified and made good for you.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the food that You provide. I ask that you give me a thankful heart always, In Jesus' name. Amen.

The Virus of False Doctrines

Click this link to listen to the audio version ☞ bit.ly/aud2171
1 Timothy 4:3-5 (NET) They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creation of God is good and no food is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer.

The reason Sheldon started attending that church where they taught license was because he grew up in one where they taught legalism. In his former church, they were so sin-conscious that they made the people perpetually feel condemned and unaccepted. They went as far as using the old Testament to proscribe certain foods and tag them as sinful. Remember, the believer is not under the law of Moses but under the law of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 9:21, Galatians 6:2).

There are two kinds of false doctrines out there. There are those that go on the side of license and the others that go on the side of legalism. Those that go on the side of license are usually laden with sexual immorality and high-sounding nonsense. They use the grace of God as a license to continue in iniquity and trivialize sin. The other kind of false doctrines out there are those that go on the side of legalism. They are those who insist on rules and regulations as the way to be right with God. They don't understand the righteousness of God but seek to establish their own righteousness by their own effort. They are as dangerous or even more dangerous than the license group. They do not walk by faith but by rules and regulations, and because of this, they do not walk in love but in accusations and condemnation.

Whenever you see two doctrinal extremes in the body of Christ, the truth is usually in the middle. Even though we are not saved by our works of righteousness, our faith produces in us works of righteousness(James 2:14, Ephesians 2:10). If it doesn't, then it is not living but dead faith.

Whenever you see a teacher always talking about rules and regulations and threatening believers with going hell as a consequence for breaking his laws, be wary. Whenever you see a teacher always talking about the grace that covers sins and never talks about how grace empowers believers to be godly and do what is right, be wary.

Go into today remembering that the grace of God teaches people to deny ungodliness and fleshly lusts. Legalism teaches people to set aside the grace of God and rather depend on their ability to keep rules and regulations as the reason why they are saved. Legalism and license are two sides of the same evil coin of false doctrines.

Prayer: Father, please guide me from the virus of false doctrines in Jesus' name. Amen.

The message of His Grace

Get Audio Version Here☞ https://bit.ly/aud2755

Acts 20:32 (NET) And now I entrust you to God and to the message of his grace. This message is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

As a little girl, Anabel was repeatedly molested by her aunt's husband. Each time she reported the matter to her aunt, her aunt would curse her and call her a witch who has been sent to destroy her home. When she couldn't take that hostile environment anymore, she ran away and started living with her friends who were "call girls". She was 16 at the time.

By the time Anabel was 29, she had committed more than 18 abortions and had done so many other horrible things like joining a cult, blackmailing some of her clients, etc.

One morning, she was flipping TV channels when she saw a very popular secular musician preaching the gospel in a church. That caught her attention, and she remained on that channel to see what he had to say. That was the day she heard the true message of the gospel. She heard the testimony of how this notorious musician had accepted the Lord and was now living a life that pleases the Lord. She loved the way he and his wife were in love with one another and the Lord, and something within her knew they were legit.

One of the major points she got from that TV program was that her sins could be forgiven and never used against her in heaven again. She understood the sacrifice of Christ Jesus and how he became the payment for our sins. This was her first step to salvation.

The message of grace helps us know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ who became poor so that we through his poverty might become rich. The Lord became sin that we might become the righteousness of God.

If a person believes in the Lord Jesus and confesses him as Lord, that person becomes righteous before God and receives the power to remain holy and blameless before God.

Go into today remembering that the grace of God is the only reason any human being could ever be saved because all have sinned. Anyone who boasts of his righteousness and looks down on people because of their sins has not truly found grace but false religion.

The Carpenter’s Son: Discerning God’s Gift

Get Audio Version Here☞ https://bit.ly/aud2754

Matthew 13:55 (KJV) Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary? And his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

Abayomi’s favorite football team was playing again tonight. He had barely refreshed from work before he rushed off to Mr. Alabi’s, to watch the match. Abayomi’s cable TV subscription did not broadcast some high-profile football matches, and so for that Mr. Alabi, his neighbor, was his plug, and he was ever so welcoming, even offering drinks and snacks while they watched the match, providing amateur commentary and sometimes throwing football banter at each other when the other’s favorite team lost or performed badly.

So, when Abayomi went with his boss to meet a tech consultant who came highly recommended to help them sort out a glitch in one of their company’s software, it was with great surprise that he saw that the said consultant was Mr. Alabi. The same football watching, banter-trading, neighbor Mr. Alabi? Abayomi berated himself for not making efforts to know his neighbor a little bit more, perhaps, maybe he would have been able to benefit from the wealth of wisdom and experience of Mr. Alabi as Abayomi himself was an early career software engineer.

From that moment henceforth, his relationship with Mr. Alabi changed. Because even though Mr. Alabi did not change, his perception and appreciation for his person was not the same and that changed his relationship, for good, with Mr. Alabi. He was no longer just a neighbor to him, he had become a well-respected senior specialist.

We sometimes do ourselves a great disservice when we fail to learn how to discern God’s gift. Understanding is critical here.

This discernment must be built first on the understanding that God deposits treasures in ‘earthen vessels’ or “jars of clay” (See 2 Corinthians 4:7 NET). God pours out his grace on men. Not just superhuman men, but men with ordinary antecedents, physiology, and anatomy. However, this must not serve as a hindrance for us to discern and therefore esteem God’s gifts.

Ephesians 4 speaks about the gifts of God in the form of men who he gave as Apostles, Prophets, etcetera. These men will have normal natural experiences of birth, pain, nutrition, gaffs, joys. They are men just like us as Apostle James said speaking about Elijah (See James 5:17). And that fact by no means invalidates the reality of who they are beyond the mundane details of their frail humanity.

We must learn to look beyond the carpenter’s son and see the One who has the words of eternal life. This was what set Peter (and the 12) from most in Jesus’ hometown.

Go into today with a discerning heart that is able to receive a Prophet in the name of the Prophet and not just as a community member.

People of Love

Get Audio Version Here☞ https://bit.ly/aud2753

Colossians 3:14 (NET) And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond.
When Kayode first believed, he didn’t know how to love people. The only person he had ever loved was himself. His parents did not love him, and no one ever showed him love before he met his roommate who preached to him and led him to Christ.

Because he was attending a living Christian fellowship, one of the first things he was taught as a new believer was to love. He was told that he now had the capacity and the ability to love God and love people...

You may be asking if it is possible to teach a person to love. Yes. The easiest way is teaching by example. Older women in the church are even to teach younger women to love their husbands and their children (see Titus 2:4).

A person who loves will give his time and his resources to the one he loves. For example, It takes love to give your time to pray for someone else. It takes love to inconvenience yourself to give your money to someone who is not you.

As children of God, we have been empowered to love. Whether we feel it or not, we now have the power to love people, whether they deserve it or not (remember that God loved us when we did not deserve it). The power of love is the most powerful in the universe. Only those who are born of God have this power to love the way God does (1 John 4:7-8).

Go into today remembering that Christians are to be people of love (John 13:35).
Prayer: Ask the Lord to make you a person of love.

Our Daily Bread

Follow this link to listen to the audio version ☞ https://bit.ly/aud2169

Matthew 6:11 (KJV) Give us this day our daily bread.

Because of a new special assignment at work, Harry was going to be traveling frequently. Two weeks before he got the assignment, he saw in a dream that he was involved in a ghastly motor accident. So when this new assignment came, he was greatly troubled because he knew he was going to be traveling a lot by road and by air. He decided to seek the Lord concerning his fears (Psalm 34:4).

One morning during this period of seeking the Lord, he woke up with the words of Psalm 121:7-8 in his heart. He continued to confess it. It says "[t]he LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore."

That was the word of God for Harry in that season(day). Because of this word, his fears were allayed and he became bold and confident that he would be safe from all harm and danger, and that was exactly what happened. He finished that assignment successfully without any accidents and got a huge promotion thereafter.

Remember that the Lord is the one who says "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). Our bodies need physical bread to survive, but the bread for our spirits is the living Word of God. When we ask our Heavenly Father to "give us this day our daily bread", we are not only asking for physical bread for the body, we are also asking for spiritual bread for the inner man. There is a word from God that can carry us through every season, that is also our daily bread.

Go into today remembering that there is a word from Lord for you for every day(season) of your life. Your [spiritual] strength and prosperity depend on it.

Prayer: Lord, teach me to wait on you and receive bread to carry me through every season(day) of my life. Amen.

Love Also Receives 2

Download Audio Version Here: http://bit.ly/aud2752

Hebrews 6:7 (NET), “For the ground that has soaked up the rain that frequently falls on it and yields useful vegetation for those who tend it receives a blessing from God"

I once read a story about a woman who risked her life to save her child. It was a fire incident and everyone ran for their dear life. She had bearly escaped the inferno when she heard the cry of her little baby. Her baby was in the building and the fire was blazing. Without a second thought, she ran right into the building, passing through the fire, and rescued her baby. Yes, the baby was rescued unhurt, but she was confined to the hospital bed for several months. Thankfully she survived but sustained irreparable deformities. May years later, the child had grown and was ready to get married, but something really disheartening happened; she did not invite her own mother to her wedding. she presented herself as an orphan to her in-laws to be. She did this because she considered her mum unpresentable.

How will you describe the child's action? What an ingrate! You’ll most likely exclaim. But, haven’t we all demonstrated certain measures of ingratitude? Unfruitfulness, in spite of the investment of God in a life, is a demonstration of ingratitude.

See how Jesus captured this in a parable: “a certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it : And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down” (Luke 13:6-9 KJV).

A barren womb is one that receives seed but does not bear fruits. If all you do is receive and give nothing in return, you are like that unfruitful tree waiting to be cut down.

Go into today knowing that love also receives and that God is expecting a harvest of love from you.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me love you the way you love me. Help me love others too. Amen.

A Call to Action: Arise

Download Audio Version Here: http://bit.ly/aud2751

Isaiah 60:1(KJV) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

She was still sobbing when the shrill loud voice of the cry of her son reached her ear. It pierced her heart sharply and her heart broke as she began to weep bitterly and sob uncontrollably. Her tears flowed unhindered because she felt the hopelessness of helplessness, I mean, what could she do, her son will soon die of thirst because they were in the middle of the desert, had gone for days without water, were weak from dehydration and there was no hope or water in sight.

She stopped with a start when she heard a voice call out to her, “Hagar, what is the matter?” The voice of the angel went on to instruct her to arise and go back to where she had left the child to die, for she couldn’t bear to watch him die, and to lift up the boy for the cry of the boy had been heard. As she arose to obey, her eyes were opened to God’s provision of water with which she was to revive and sustain both her son and herself. (See Genesis 21:14-20).

The call to ‘Arise’ is a call to action, a call to take a step of faith and obedience in order to experience and manifest the plan and glory of God. When Isaiah spoke/wrote these words, the people of God were in exile and had no physical token of reassurance that they were ever to be delivered from captivity. Yet, Isaiah spoke these words to them, even going on to say that “Gentiles will come to your light, and kings to your bright light” because when they arise, the Lord Himself will arise over them and his glory will be seen upon them.

God has done something already, that we are to arise in faith and obedience to take advantage of so we can also partake in what God also intends to do and accomplish. In the case of Hagar, the Lord had already made a provision of water and when Hagar arose, she then was able to experience the Lord’s deliverance. We must learn to move upon the call and impulses of the Holy Spirit within as he instructs and directs us.
Prayer: Lord

Living Sensibly

🔊Audio Version Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1865

Luke 15:17-18 (NIV) "When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

The story here is about a son who took his inheritance to a far country and squandered it. Then the Bible recorded that he "came back to his senses" and said “I will go back to my father”.

A question I’d like you to consider is ‘when did he lose his senses?’ It wasn’t when he squandered his inheritance; it wasn’t when he came to a far country; it was the very moment he thought he could live his life outside the guidance and supervision of his father, that was the moment he got it all mixed up. We don’t judge right and wrong by outcome; we judge right and wrong by the revealed word of God. So even if this son had gone into a far country and invested his inheritance in a profitable business and grew wealthy, it still would not justify his leaving his father.

The specie of humans called the Christian, (or the believer, or the New Creation), only exists in Christ [2nd Cor 5:17] (also seen in the epistles as ‘in Him’ [Eph 1:4] or ‘in Whom’ [Col 1:14]). Outside His saving grace, we are damned; outside His Lordship, we are lost. Regardless of the physical outcome, life lived outside the revealed word and will of God is a life lived senselessly. Some decisions taken outside God’s will might look rational and sensible to the world, but that is understandable, “The unbeliever does not receive the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him…” [1 Cor 2:14]. Bible says in Luke 15:17, 18 ‘when he came to himself, he said … I will arise and go to my Father’ for when we desert our Father’s wisdom, we lose ourselves.

Go into today resolved to make bible sense by constantly, continuously and consistently walking in the will of God.

Get Audio Version Here☞ bit.ly/aud2167

Ephesians 5:11(NIV) Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them

Todd met Raphael during his personal evangelism and the following conversation ensued:
Todd: Good morning brother Raphael.

Raphael: don’t call me brother, I’m not falling for that church thing.
Todd: why, aren’t you a believer?
Raphael: yes, but I don’t want anything to do with Church, after all, it makes no difference.

Todd was really surprised at Raphael’s responses so he pressed on by asking other questions. He eventually found out that Raphael had become hardened because of the kind of 'Christians' around him. Raphael’s friends were all 'born again Christians', but they clubbed, drank, smoked, and did other ungodly things together. So for Raphael, being born again made no difference.

The case of Raphael’s friends may be considered extreme, but there are milder cases where believers condone sinful acts around them even when they will not be a part of it themselves, and because they do not condemn but accommodate such acts, they cannot live as light in that environment.

Today’s text not only tells us to have nothing to do with the deeds of darkness, it tells us to expose them. As long as darkness is not confronted by light, darkness will continue to rule.

Go into today making up your mind to have nothing to do with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose them.

Prayer: Lord, help me to always shine as light. Amen.Want to be saved? Click here: streamglobe.org/33

Death to the Old Nature

Download the Audio Version Here ☞ https://bit.ly/audio2750

Colossians 3:5-6 (NET) So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience.

Fola was terribly afflicted in her body and she did not understand why this kept going on. She cried to the Lord for help.

One Saturday morning, Pastor Clara felt led to go pray for Fola. But before she started praying, she felt led to ask Fola certain questions. It became clear to pastor Clara that Fola was still living like an unbeliever, even though she was very committed to the church. Fola’s sinful life was the reason she was afflicted. She repented and confessed her faults to Pastor Clara and she became healed after Pastor Clara prayed for her and anointed her with oil. (see James 5:13-16).

The reason why believers must put to death whatever is in their nature that belongs to the earth is that we do not want to be partakers in the wrath of God that is coming on the sons of disobedience. Many believers suffer many things that they are not to suffer because they are still living like unbelievers.

Go into today determining to mortify everything in you that is not in conformity to the nature of Christ.
Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you to this end.

A Candle's Light At Mid-day

Download the Audio Version Here ☞ https://bit.ly/aud2749

Matthew 5:14 (KJV) “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid"
When Mrs. Grace saw her son holding a candle and a matchbox in his hand, she asked, “what do you need those for?" “I want to light up the candle because I need a light" he responded. Mrs. Grace answered him sternly, “don't waste my candle and matches, it's mid-day, you have no need for extra light". If he wasn't stopped, he would have wasted the candle.

Many Christians prefer to shine in areas where the light of God is already shinning while forsaking the unreached who are wallowing in darkness. And just like a candle's light is useless in the mid-day, they have made themselves useless. A candle's light is useful however in a dark room.

Knowing that you are the light of the world is good but that alone is insufficient. You also must know that your light must not be hidden (Matthew 5:14b). If you must live as a child of God and shine as the light of the world in a manner pleasing to the Lord, you must know that every light has darkness it was designed for and that light becomes useful only when it has located the darkness it was designed for. A hidden light is a useless light.

What darkness was your light designed for? Are you willing to shine as light in that darkness or do you want to be another burning candle in the midday which is useless?

Go into today knowing that:
1. The usefulness of light is better appreciated in darkness
2. God sent you as light because he wanted you to shine in specific darkness, and no matter how bright you shine, you will be pleasing to God only when you are shining in that specific area.
Prayer: Father, I want to be your light in the darkness of this world, help me so, in Jesus' name. Amen!

Receiving & Walking in Spiritual Gifts

Audio Version Here ☞ https://bit.ly/aud2748

1 Corinthians 12:11 (NKJV) But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

Aarav had always wanted to walk in the prophetic gifts because he had seen the benefits first hand. He always assumed he had received the [baptism of the] Holy Spirit, but through diligent study of the word, he realized he was not yet baptized in the Holy Spirit because he saw from scripture that everyone who was baptized knew for sure that they had received the Holy Spirit. But he wasn't sure.

Aarav was invited to attend an interdenominational Holy-Ghost all-night prayer meeting. He decided to attend this meeting because he was told that people received the baptism of the Holy Spirit there. During the meeting, the minister of God invited all those who wanted to receive the Holy Ghost to come forward to be ministered to. As soon as the minister laid his hand on Aarav’s head, Aarav felt great power come upon him that made his body quiver. The next thing he could remember was that he started speaking in tongues and prophesying. That was the day Aarav received the spiritual gifts of tongues and prophesy. With time, he observed that he now had the gift of discerning of spirits and the ability to know things that he normally would not know (word of knowledge).

Spiritual gifts are distributed by the Holy Spirit as He wills. The Holy Spirit not only gives us spiritual gifts, but He is also the one who powers (or works) them. So walking in communion with the Holy Spirit is the key to walking and excelling in your spiritual gifts. Receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit is key to receiving spiritual gifts.

Go into today remembering that God wants you to walk in spiritual gifts so you can be more fruitful.
Prayer: Ask the Lord to deliver you from everything that hinders your communion with the Holy Spirit.

The Prophet's Madness

Get Audio Version Here: http://bit.ly/aud2747
2 Peter 2:16-17 (NET) By forsaking the right path they have gone astray, because they followed the way of Balaam son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness, yet was rebuked for his transgression (a dumb donkey speaking with a man’s voice, restrained the prophet’s madness)

The corrupting influence of mammon is so profound that Jesus and the apostles had to give several warnings about it. It is important to note that if Satan fails to get a man to not obey the gospel, the next thing he tries to accomplish is to corrupt the man and make him an enemy of God by so doing.

The man Balaam was one who obviously had known the Lord, Apostle Peter described him as a prophet, and as one who had forsaken the right path. However, he was someone who got corrupted by his love of money. He so loved it that it wasn’t long that he was willing to take a wage, a reward, that accrues from activities of unrighteousness. He became a soothsayer (See Joshua 13:22), a diviner, and a prophet-for-hire (See Nehemiah 13:2) as a result.

When Apostle Paul was speaking to Timothy, he charged him that godliness with contentment is great gain (See I Timothy 6:6). That charge holds true for every true believer who seeks to walk accurately with the Lord and not be infected by the madness of Balaam. When one disdains the great gain that accrues from the mixture of godliness and contentment, he will ultimately begin to gain affection for the wages of unrighteousness.

When Apostle Jude was to speak on the subject matter he said, “Woe to them! For they have traveled down Cain’s path, and because of greed have abandoned themselves to Balaam’s error; hence, they will certainly perish in Korah’s rebellion.” (Jude 1:11 NET).

Contentment is not a small matter in the Kingdom. You must guard your heart against greed and an inordinate desire for gain. Greed has the capacity to corrupt a man beyond recognition, such that a man who began walking with the Lord can now become a willing and gifted tool in the agenda of darkness to frustrate the work and people of God. This is what has powered a lot of false teachers who began well, but now by their falsehood have maligned the name of Jesus to the degree that it now serves as a stumbling block to others who should have believed the gospel.

Know this, godliness is not a means of making profit, ministry is not a tool for personal aggrandizement, and the gift of the spirit is not for lining your pockets.

Go into today holding fast to the counsel of God, renounce greed, hold fast to godliness and contentment, guard your heart, and watch your appetites.

Spiritual Gifts- Interpretation of Tongues

Get Audio Version Here: http://bit.ly/aud2746
1 Corinthians 12:10 (NKJV) to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
Not long ago, I spoke with a servant of God who was in an American hospital to visit some folks. While he was there, he saw some white men praying and speaking in tongues. But as he listened carefully, he noticed that one of them was speaking his local African language. He first thought the man understood the language, but when he talked to the man later, it was clear that the man was simply praying in tongues and did not understand the language in question. The white men were so excited when they heard the interpretation of what was said because it agreed with their prayer point.

I remember the first time someone interpreted my tongues. I was simply praying in tongues to God, and this man sitting near me gave me the interpretation of my prayer in tongues. I was so excited because the things he said I was praying were exactly the burden in my heart at that moment. This man didn't know me so there was no way he could have known those things, but he heard me praying in tongues and could interpret my prayers. From that day, I took my prayer in tongues a little more seriously.

The gift of interpretation of tongues is one that enables those who have it to know the meaning of certain tongues they hear. It could happen that they begin to hear someone’s tongues in a language they understand, or they just simply begin to know the meaning of the tongues they hear, whether the tongues are messages from God to people (in which case it must be interpreted) or prayers to God. Those who have the gift of diverse tongues usually also have the gift of interpretation of tongues. When a message is given to people in tongues, it is important that the message is interpreted if the message would profit them.

Go into today remembering that spiritual gifts were given to profit withal. Those who have a desire for the increase of God's kingdom will more easily walk in spiritual gifts.

Spiritual Gifts- Different Kinds of Tongues

Download Today's Audio Here ☞ bit.ly/aud1857
1 Corinthians 12:10 (NKJV)to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

When most believers receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, they receive the ability to speak in an unknown tongue, and most of the time, this 'unknown tongue' becomes their prayer language. There is a difference between 'unknown tongue' (as seen in 1 Corinthians 14:2), and 'different kinds of tongues' (as seen in 1 Cor 12:10).

While the purpose of speaking in 'an unknown tongue' is to talk to God (who does not need an interpreter) and to edify oneself (see 1 Corinthians 14:2,4), the purpose of the gift of 'different kinds of tongues' is to bring a message to people and edify them. All spiritual gifts are for the profit of all, not for personal edification (see 1 Cor 12:7). People would need tongues to be interpreted if it would profit them.

If you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit, that tongue you most likely speak is 'an unknown tongue' and not necessarily "divers kinds of tongues". You may have noticed that what you have been speaking is the same tongue or language that is not understood by anyone(see 1Cor 14:2), and there may be a lot of monotony to it. It is a tongue (an unknown tongue) and different from the gift of 'tongues' or 'different kinds of tongues'.

The gift of 'tongues' or 'divers kinds of tongues' helps those who have it to bring prophetic messages to people. It is equal to the gift of prophecy if interpreted (see 2 Cor 14:5). This should not be confused with speaking in 'an unknown tongue’ or 'a tongue' which is used for praying to God. All do not have the spiritual gift of "different kinds of tongues" (see 1 Corinthians 12:30), but all who have been baptized in the Holy Ghost would normally receive the ability to speak [to God] in 'an unknown tongue' (see Acts 10:46, Acts 19:6, Mark 16:17).

Go into today remembering that speaking in divers kinds of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:10, 14:5) is different from speaking in an unknown tongue (1 Corinthians 14:2). The one is speaking unto men for their edification while the other is speaking unto God and for self-edification.

Spiritual Gifts- Discerning of Spirits

Download Today's Audio Here ☞ http://bit.ly/aud2745

1 Corinthians 12:10 (NKJV)to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

Emeka was about to enter an important business deal with a young man who was trying to market some goods to him. Because Emeka had never met the young man in person but only communicated with him online, he did not know why his spirit was uneasy about this business deal that was supposed to be one that would bring great profit. The day Emeka met the young man with whom he was to enter the business deal, he knew he was not going to proceed with the deal because he had the gift of discerning of spirits and had discerned that the young man had a wrong spirit. Later, Emeka learned that the young man was a fraud who had long left the company he claimed to represent. Emeka's business was saved because he had the gift of "discerning of spirits".

"Discerning of spirits" is a spiritual gift that enables those who have it to know the nature of spirits they are dealing with. Because all human beings are spirit beings, those who have this gift can discern the true nature of people they come in contact with.

This is the spiritual gift that can make a person enter a room and discern that there are unclean spirits in that room, or there are angels. Like every spiritual gift, the operation of this gift in people is in levels and degrees. For example, every believer has an angel (see Matt 18:10, Ps 91:11, Heb 1:14), but those who have a heightened level of this spiritual gift may even be able to discern their angels, and discern the presence of other angels and even demons, etc.

Go into today asking the Lord for a higher measure of the spiritual gift you have received.
Lord Jesus, please help me walk in all my spiritual gifts and prosper
I am walking in all my spiritual gifts. I prosper in all good things. The name of Jesus is glorified through my life

Spiritual Gifts- Prophecy

Download Today's Audio Here ☞ http://bit.ly/dev2744
1 Corinthians 12:10 (NKJV) to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

Prophecy is one of the most coveted spiritual gifts. It is indeed one of the most powerful. Through it, you can predict the future, shape the future, create miracles, probe into the past, wrought deliverance, etc.

Word of wisdom gives direction concerning what to do in the future while word of knowledge reveals what has happened in the past or what is currently happening. Prophecy reveals what will happen in the future.

Some prophecies are revelatory while some others are creative. The fig tree dried up because Jesus spoke to it, Jesus did not say it would dry up as a prediction (see Mark 11:12-25). The famine that ended in Samaria ended because of the prophecy of Elisha, Elisha's prophecy didn't predict the famine's end, it created it (see 2 Kings 7:1-18). Elijah did not predict the end of the drought in Israel; the rain that ended the drought was created because of his prophetic grace (see 1 Kings 18).

There are things that when God wants to do, He would first inspire His children/prophets to prophesy them into existence, and then those things would be established on the earth. From Genesis, we can learn that everything God created in this realm was first spoken into existence. That principle has not changed even today. God creates things in our world today through His sons that prophesy.

It wasn't because of Paul's personal bias that he asked the believers to especially desire the gift of prophecy (see 1 Cor 14:1), it was because of his understanding of the power this spiritual gift can wield. This spiritual gift can bring about swift execution of judgment against God's adversaries, it can create miracles, signs, and wonders, etc--it is creative.

Go into today desiring and asking to walk in the prophetic gift. All believers do not occupy the office of the prophet, but all believers can operate the prophetic gift.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Please help me properly walk in my prophetic heritage as your son, in Jesus' name. Amen.

God's Promises

Devotional Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud1485
2 Peter 1:4 (KJV)Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Daniel did not only receive divine healing, but as a result of the revelation he got before he became healed, he didn’t fall sick again.
This was a manifestation of the divine nature at work in Him that we can call Divine Health. But how did he begin to walk in this divine nature? It was by virtue of God’s promises.

During the period he was sick and studying the word of God concerning divine healing and health, he read certain promises concerning healing and health and they became Rhema to him. He knew he was now healed because heard and heard those promises until he received them by faith.

We see from today’s Bible verse that it is through God’s magnificent promises that we walk in His divine nature. One reason why it is very important for believers to know the scriptures is because they contain God’s promises, and it is through these promises that faith comes to manifest attributes of the divine nature that the promises reveal.

It is possible to be a believer and not walk in certain manifestations of the divine nature because you do not know (or have not received) the promises of God that activate those manifestations. That is why God’s people can suffer for lack of knowledge (see Hosea 4:6, Job 36:12, Proverbs 5:23, Proverbs 10:21 in ESV).

Go into today remembering that God’s promises are the keys that open up the different manifestations of the divine nature to you.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you know and stand on All His promises.

Spiritual Gifts- Gifts of Healings

Download Today's Audio Here ☞ https://bit.ly/aud1853
1 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)To another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit

When Derek first saw a sick person miraculously healed, he was still an atheist. He had reluctantly attended a gospel campaign his classmate invited him to because he wanted to date her. That night, he was sitting next to another classmate who was crippled. In that meeting, this classmate was miraculously healed and started walking for the first time in many years. That was the day Derek believed in the Lord Jesus. All his doubts about the existence of God vanished. He now wanted to know the God that healed his crippled classmate.

The gift of healing is a spiritual gift that brings supernatural healing to the sick. It usually operates when the believer having this gift lays his/her hand on the sick or simply prays for them in faith, etc.

The power of God can be likened to electricity. Spiritual gifts can be likened to electrical appliances like light bulbs, fans, air conditioners, sound systems, etc. If a house is properly wired with sufficient electricity flowing in its wires, but there is no single appliance in the house, it would be difficult to convince someone who has never known about electricity that electricity is real and in that house. But when there are appliances like light bulbs and fans, it would be easy to convince such a person.

When there are spiritual gifts in manifestation, it is easier to get people to believe in God and in His power. This was one reason Apostle Paul was such an effective fisher of men. The display of the power of God was his priority in preaching the gospel (see 1 Cor 2:4).

Go into today remembering that one of the easiest ways the power of God is displayed is through spiritual gifts.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to activate your spiritual gifts. Ask Him to cause that wherever His gospel is preached in your nation, signs and wonders, miracles, and gifts of the spirit will accompany it (Heb 2:4).

Operating Spiritual Gifts 1

Download Today's Audio Here ☞ http://bit.ly/dev2405

Romans 12:6 (NKJV) Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them...

Do you remember when you first started to write? It probably seemed like the most difficult thing in the world, but today, you can write without thinking about how to keep your letters within the margin. You can write effortlessly.

There are many believers who have spiritual gifts that they hardly use. They know they have certain spiritual gifts because they have seen them manifest once or twice, but they don't use these gifts. Just like with most things, with spiritual gifts, practice makes perfect.

If you have ever walked in any spiritual gift, it is because the gift has been given to you. How painful it would be when believers get to heaven and realize that their kingdom work would have been more fruitful if only they learned to use the spiritual gifts that God had allotted to them.

Think about the most common gift believers operate today--tongues. Many believers walk easily in this gift because they believe they can walk in it since they see many of their brethren walking in it.

Before you speak in tongues, do you have any doubt that the tongues would come? That is how all other spiritual gifts that you have received operate. You know for sure that you have received it and you don't doubt that it would become operational when you need it to.

If a believer has prophetic gifts, and he is in the company of people who Prophesy easily, just like it is with tongues, he would discover that his company would boost his faith and he would find it very easy to Prophesy.

Go into today remembering that spiritual gifts operate by faith. If you find that you have received a spiritual gift, use it, don't ignore it. Just the way you believe you can and would definitely speak in tongues when you want to, believe you would walk in those other gifts that you have received when the need arises.

Prayer: Lord, teach me to walk in my gifts and prosper. Amen.

Daniel 11:32 (KJV) And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

Sandra was strong because she knew the Lord. This was not a coincidence, it was because of deliberate actions she took to seek the Lord- She made time to pray, study and meditate on the word each day.

Before that year, if someone had told her what Mrs. Charles told her, she would have broken down in tears and entered another season of depression. It happened like that when she turned 32 and her grandma told her she was now an old maiden. It happened again when her aunt asked her when she was getting married because time was no more on her side.

But because she was now strong in the Lord and no longer heavy and depressed but had a cheerful and joyful countenance, the word the Lord gave to her came to fruition just as she heard it. She met Uche Amadi the next week, and he wanted to marry her. He was two years older than her and was already a professor. She didn't waste time to accept his proposal because the Lord had already spoken to her that she was going to enter a relationship and get married soon.

If she had allowed the words of Mrs. Charles to get to her and she entered her usual season of depression and heaviness, she would have missed her husband because her heaviness and sad countenance would have driven him away.

In Ephesians 6:9, we see that in order for us to put on the whole armor of God, we have to first be strong in the Lord. Knowing the Lord through fellowship with Him is the way we receive His strength.

Go into today remembering that knowing the Lord does not just multiply his grace and peace in your lives, it increases your strength and ability to do His will.

Prayer: Lord, help me know you more each day, and walk in your glorious light. Amen.

Spiritual Gifts- Word of Wisdom

Download Today's Audio Here ☞ https://bit.ly/aud2743

1 Corinthians 12:8 (KJV) For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit

Chiamaka was really confused concerning who to marry. There were two eligible brothers who wanted her hand in marriage. She met the first brother during her youth service. She and the second brother were members of the same subgroup in church.

As she continued praying and asking the Lord for wisdom concerning who to accept, she felt led to discuss the matter with her pastor's wife.

Before she and her pastor’s wife started the discussion, her pastor’s wife prayed to commit their discussion to the Lord, but as she prayed, a word of wisdom for Chiamaka came. It was a reminder to Chiamaka of some prayers she had prayed during her youth service year. The word made it clear to Chiamaka that her husband was the first brother; the one she met during her youth service year. Her pastor’s wife didn’t even know what Chiamaka wanted to discuss when the word of wisdom came. It made things very clear to Chiamaka and she now knew what to do.

'Word of Wisdom' is a word from the Lord that gives people wisdom concerning what to do. There are believers who have been given the ability to frequently receive such words from the Lord. They are those said to have the gift called ‘word of wisdom’. We find a good example of this gift at work in Isaiah 38:21 and 2 Kings 20:7. Here, prophet Isaiah said what was to be done in order for King Hezekiah’s fatal boil to be healed and his life spared.

Note that the spiritual gift called 'word of wisdom' is called so because it is an inspired utterance by the Holy Spirit to give wisdom and direction to people. It is not a product of learning or human understanding. It is prophetic in nature-- directly inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Go into today remembering that God has given us spiritual gifts in order to help us in different areas of our lives.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you receive and walk in the spiritual gifts He has purposed for you.

Dealing With Enemies

Psalms 27:6 (KJV) And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

Remi was very aware and conscious of the fact that she had enemies who were against her. She grew up in a polygamous home, and by the time she was a teenager, it became clear to her that her stepmother was her enemy. Apart from her stepmother, she knew she had other enemies who were wicked and envious.

She had spent a lot of her time in her life praying against her enemies, and she was always having reasons to pray against them because they always had a way of showing up again and again. But as Remi grew in the Lord, she became more preoccupied with pleasing the Lord than anything else. Because of this, she found that she was no longer obsessed with the fact that she had enemies and was no longer afraid of them. She knew that she was now exalted above her enemies and there was nothing they could do about it.

God is very aware that we have enemies, and He has made elaborate arrangements for dealing with them. When we focus on our enemies, we may or may not overcome them, but when we focus on the Lord and live for Him, He would exalt us far above our enemies. They would no longer be the issue of our lives. The only thing that would be strong enough to be our preoccupation would now be matters of God's Kingdom and no more mundane matters of enemy hostility.

Go into today remembering that when we become God’s property and live for Him, our enemies will become God’s enemies, and we wouldn’t need to worry much about them anymore because they would now have the entire host of heaven to contend with. Read Gen 12:3, Exo 23:22, Acts 9:4-5.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you enter the realm of rest in Him.
