Philippians 4:19 (KJV) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

There was a certain woman who had a lot of money but was barren. Her husband no longer loved her and would have nothing to do with her. For many years, she didn't even know if she was still baren after undergoing certain medical procedures because her husband wouldn't come near her. She was a believer in the Lord Jesus and was known to be a person of integrity.

One day, she observed that a certain evangelist in her church was in need of financial help, so she decided to give him offerings both for his personal family needs and for the work of the ministry. She was not expecting anything in return for her offering but was just trying to meet the need of a minister and honor the anointing upon him. This evangelist was so provoked by her generosity that he said: "my God, who I've been serving all these years, will meet you at that point of your need".

Two weeks later, her husband who wanted nothing to do with her repented and left his girlfriend who had used witchcraft to keep him under her control. In that same month, she conceived. She gave birth to twins nine months later at the age of 56.

The popular Bible verse of today's meditation was a prayer Apostle Paul made for the Philippians after he received their generous offering through Epaphroditus (see Philippians 4:18). Notice that in this prayer, Apostle Paul refers to God (who is also the God of the Phillipians) as "my God". Knowing fully well that his God was their God, why would apostle Paul refer to God as 'my God' when praying this prayer for the Philippians? It is because of a spiritual principle we shall try to examine.

God's power is at work in our lives at different levels in accordance with the measure of grace that we have received(see Romans 12:6). Grace is multiplied in our lives through the knowledge of God and of our Lord Jesus Christ(2 Peter 1:2). The progressive knowledge of God takes the process of a faithful walk with the Lord, and this knowledge multiplies grace. Grace is God's power localized in the life of a believer, and it is comminuted with through the believer's faith.

God is unlimited, but his manifestation in a person's life is regulated by their measure of grace and faith.
When a servant of God says "my God shall..." when praying for believers, he is calling upon a dimension of God that is known to him but may not yet be known to them. This dimension would supply a measure of grace(that they themselves have not yet grown into) to meet their needs.

Go into today remembering that when God's people are generous to His servants who have received a measure of grace to serve Him in certain capacities, it can provoke special manifestations of the blessing in their lives.
