Luke 16:13 (KJV) No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Dele received a revelation that made him understand he was to serve the Lord in Kaduna. There were several confirmations, and he was sure God wanted him to dwell in Kaduna. Three months later, he got a much better job than his current job. The salary was ten times more, but the only issue was that he would have to relocate to Lagos for the job.
At that point, Dele refused to pray objectively. He was trying to convince himself that the Job was the will of God. He knew in his spirit that taking the job was not God's will, but he took the job after going to seek counsel from a pastor who told him what he wanted to hear.
Dele went to Lagos and walked out of God's will for his life. Dele is an example of a Christian who serves Mammon.
A Christian who serves God realizes that his purpose in life is to serve God; that everything he has was given for him to use to serve God and experience dimensions of God. Such a Christian would get to the point that God Himself would take responsibility for his every need. Nothing of this world becomes so important that it hinders his relationship with God. This is manifested in his willingness to let go of anything that the master demands.
Go into today remembering that we are serving sons of the great God. Do not let your life be defined by the desire to get more money, let it be defined by the desire to please and serve God.
Prayer confession: I am pleasing the Lord in all things. I am serving Him with everything I have, In Jesus' name. Amen.
