Psalm 142:6 (KJV) reads, “Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I."
This was David's desperate plea when he found himself pursued by King Saul, hiding in a cave to escape danger.
Similar to David's situation, we all have that enemy or situation that our strength cannot handle and we must acknowledge this if we want to win. It is after we have acknowledged this that we can then pray like David, “attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I."
Attempting to confront these formidable foes with our own strength leads to defeat and harm. Often, their dominance stems from legal ties, such as ancestral covenants or personal transgressions.
However, there is no need for fear or panic, as we have divine assistance. God is ready to defend us. We need only to call upon Him for help.
Remember today that, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea" (Psalm 46:1-2 KJV).
Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you remember that you have His assistance in times of need.
