Psalm 34:7 (KJV) states, “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them."

In 2 Kings chapter 6, the king of Syria confronted Prophet Elisha, accusing him of spying. When Elisha's servant saw they were surrounded by angry soldiers, he cried out in fear. However, Elisha remained calm and prayed for his servant's eyes to be opened. When the servant saw the host of angels surrounding them, he gained boldness.

Why was Elisha not afraid, and why did the servant suddenly become bold? Because they knew they were surrounded by a host of angels.

Are you, like Elisha's servant, afraid of the enemy and life's challenges? I pray that the Lord Jesus opens your eyes to see the help you have in God.

Hebrews 1:14 speaks of angels as "ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation." Angels continue to minister for the heirs of salvation, always with you and attentive when you call upon them in the name of Jesus.

Today, remember that the ministry of angels is one of the advantages you have as a child of God. Will you maximize this?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, open my eyes like you did for Elisha's servant, to see that I am not alone. Father, let your angels minister for me henceforth, in Jesus' name, amen!
