Bearing Fruits 1

Broadcast 4170
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): streamglobe.org/aud4170
John 15:16 (NET) You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.
Everard observed that anytime he walked in the flesh, he felt drained of spiritual power, but whenever he walked in the Spirit, he was strengthened and filled with joy. There was a time when he had the opportunity to share the gospel with a colleague at work who was in a backslidden state. It took courage and self-denial to do this, but he observed that after the encounter, his heart was filled with joy and inner strength.

When he reflected on this joy and strength, he realized that they came from the joy of the Lord within him. His fruitfulness made the Lord happy, and that joy became his strength.

God saved us and translated us from death to life, and one of the evidences of life is fruitfulness. The Lord dwells within us, and our fruitfulness gives Him great joy. This joy, in turn, becomes our strength(see Nehemiah 8:10).

Fruitfulness in a believer's life means walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh. It means manifesting the fruit of the Spirit. Spiritual believers are fruitful believers, while carnal believers are unfruitful. Fruitful believers find their strength in the joy of the Lord, whereas carnal believers remain weak.

Go into today remembering that true strength comes from walking in the Spirit, thus being fruitful. This pleases God and fills your heart with His joy and strength.

Prayer: Lord, help me to walk in the Spirit and live a fruitful life that brings joy to You. Strengthen me through Your joy as I bear fruit that remains. Amen.

Inherited Righteousness

Broadcast 4169
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): streamglobe.org/aud4169

Romans 5:18 (NET) Consequently, just as condemnation for all people came through one transgression, so too through the one righteous act came righteousness leading to life for all people.

Kenneth got himself into trouble when he started following certain teachers who taught strange doctrines. They told him that his conduct as a young man didn’t matter much before God because God deals with him based solely on the righteousness of Christ. They quoted the Bible verse above to support their argument.

As a result of believing these doctrines, Kenneth sank deeper into iniquity and made many mistakes that he regretted years later. Thankfully, the Lord restored him when he started reading *Streamglobe Devotional* (actual name changed).

All human beings were made sinners because of the sin of one man, Adam. It is on that same basis that all who believe in Christ are made righteous through Christ, the last Adam.

Even though sin entered the world through Adam, God’s judgment on every individual is based on their own actions (see Ecclesiastes 12:14). Sinners are judged for their own sins, not for the sin of Adam. Adam’s sin opened the door of sin to humanity, making the sinful nature our default.

But for those who believe in Christ, His righteousness opens the door to endless righteousness and holiness, so that sin no longer has dominion over them.

Go into today remembering that while people became sinners because of Adam’s sin, they will be judged and condemned for their own sins. Likewise, people become righteous through Christ’s righteousness, but will be rewarded and elevated in God’s kingdom based on their obedience and acts of righteousness (see 1 Cor 3:13-15, Matthew 16:27, Revelation 22:12).

Complete in Him

Colossians 2:9-10 (NET) For in him all the fullness of deity lives in bodily form, and you have been filled in him, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

When Amir wanted to be free from the demonic powers that held him bound since his university days, he decided to call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Even though he had always known that Jesus could save him, he thought becoming a believer in Christ would take away from him and make his life miserable. "No more partying, no more hanging out and fun, etc." But the opposite was the case. After receiving the Lord Jesus, the emptiness in his soul vanished, and he started feeling complete and filled. He discovered that he no longer needed alcohol, drugs, partying, etc., to feel complete. All those things never really made him complete, but only plunged him deeper into darkness. His fellowship with Christ through [fellowship with] the Holy Spirit and fellowship with brethren was more filling and fulfilling than anything he had explored before.

One of the biggest deceptions of the devil to the people in the world is that if they accept the Lord Jesus, they would be forsaking a full and exciting life for a life that would be empty, dull, and dreary. But the opposite is the case. No matter how many accomplishments a man has or how far he explores in the world, he would always feel empty without Christ. No matter how much a man tries to satisfy his flesh with pleasures, he would be left empty. It is only in Christ that a human being can find completeness and purpose. Man was created in the image of God. It is only Christ who is the fullness of the Godhead bodily that can fill man.

Go into today remembering that that old feeling of emptiness cannot be the portion of a person who abides in Christ. In Christ lies the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and you are filled in Him. No more emptiness. Glory to Jesus!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to appreciate and make the most of this truth that I am filled and complete in you.

Created As God's Answer

Romans 8:28 (NET) "And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose."

The world has been filled with challenges since the beginning of time. After God completed creation, a challenge arose: Who would govern all that He had made? God's solution was to create man. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created He them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” (Genesis 1:27-28). From then on, God has always provided solutions to the world’s problems through humanity.

No matter the circumstances surrounding your birth, you were not born by accident. You are God’s answer to the challenges the world faces. God won’t descend from heaven to fix these challenges—He works through people. Each one of us was created to solve a unique set of challenges. The first problem humanity faced was a need for leadership, and even today, the world desperately needs good leaders. God created you to fulfill that need, even within the smallest circles.

The ideas that will bring the change we need come through people whom God places within our sphere of influence. That's why it's so important to connect with one another, because through these relationships, God can solve the challenges we face. People are God’s instruments to bring solutions, so treat them as such. Likewise, you are the solution to someone else’s problem. This is the way God designed the world. We were created to meet the needs of others, both individually and collectively, and this should motivate us to give our best when others need our help. In doing so, we act on behalf of God, and it is a great privilege. You are a solution to the world.

Prayer:

Dear loving Father, thank You for making me a solution to the challenges in my world. Thank You for trusting me to stand in Your place to meet the needs of others. I am excited by this privilege, and by Your Spirit, I will give my all to be the solution that the world needs, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Walking In God's Great Power

Broadcast 4166

Watch today's video: streamglobe.org/vid4166
Philippians 3:10 (KJV) "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death."

Rolland desired to walk in God’s great power because he understood that it was essential for effectiveness in life and ministry. After observing the lives of those who walked in this power, he noticed that they were closer to God than most other believers. He realized that the secret to walking in great power is a closer knowledge of God through fellowship with Him (see 2 Pet 1:2).

Today’s Bible verse reveals that the first thing we experience in our knowledge of God is the power of His resurrection. This is the greatest power God has revealed to creation, both spiritual and physical. It raised Christ from the dead and exalted Him above all creation (see Eph 1:20-21).

Many Christians do not walk in God’s great power because their hearts are too far from Him. Their relationship with the Lord is often limited to asking and receiving, without a true desire to know Him and His ways.

Moses was powerful because he knew God and understood His ways (see Psalm 103:7). He spent more time in the presence of God than anyone else.

A loving father is naturally closer to his obedient children who love spending time with him, more than to those who only communicate to ask for things. In the same way, God desires fellowship, not just requests.

Go into today remembering that fellowship with God is the key to walking in the power of God that has been freely made available to you in Christ.
Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you cultivate a deeper friendship with Him.

Being Strong in The Lord

Broadcast 4165

Watch today's video: streamglobe.org/vid4165

Ephesians 6:10 (KJV) "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might."
During the Second World War, as Hitler and his army advanced with what Winston Churchill referred to as "perverted science," Churchill, the then Prime Minister of Britain, knew that the only way Britain and the world could overcome was by standing strong and holding their ground, despite overwhelming attacks.

In Churchill's famous June 18, 1940 speech to the British House of Commons, he said:

"... Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science.

Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.' "

Britain and the allied powers overcame Hitler and his satanic agenda because they insisted on being strong despite it all. The battle looked like a lost course, but one sign that they remained strong was that they never spoke words of discouragement but remained positive and optimistic despite contrary outcomes. In the end, God gave them victory.

As a believer in Christ, the devil knows that if he cannot break you, he cannot win the war against you, because the victory that overcomes him is [recieved through] your faith(see 1 John 5:4), and you cannot walk in faith and discouragement at the same time. He knows his time is short so he will do anything to try and get you to the point of breaking in weakness and unbelief, but if you insist on God's report and refuse to break down in discouragement, you will overcome through Christ.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you stay strong in Him. Resist every spirit of discouragement and weakness today because you are more than a conqueror.

John 6:57 (NET) "Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so the one who consumes me will live because of me."
Maggie was so sick that she began to despair of life. One day, while reading the book of John, she realized that if she truly lived because of Christ, she couldn’t continue to be afflicted with diseases because there is no disease in Christ. She decided to take the Holy Communion, but this time with the understanding that she was partaking in the body of Jesus and would now live because of Him. This revelation was how Maggie received her healing.

The life Jesus lived on earth was the life of the Father. He didn’t act on His own, but everything He did was in the name of the Father. Similarly, we are called to live by Him and do all things in His name. That’s why we can cast out demons in His name, heal the sick, and operate in divine authority.

Those who will experience this divine life are those who, after believing in Christ, continue in His word and allow it to rule their lives. Jesus is the Word of God, and we feed our spirits by feeding our souls with His Word and understanding it so that it enriches our spirits. Those dedicated to the ministry of the Word and prayer will walk in this divine nature.

We feed our bodies with Christ by regularly partaking in the Lord’s Table or Holy Communion. This practice aligns our bodies with our new spiritual reality as children of God. The apostle Paul explained that some believers in Corinth were sick or had died because they did not partake in the Lord’s body appropriately (see 1 Corinthians 11:29-30). Believers who rightly partake in the Lord’s body, both spiritually and physically, experience divine health and healing. This is one of the divine realities that the Word of God and the Lord’s Table bring.

Go into today remembering that the divine life of God is the inheritance of believers who live by the Word.

Prayer: Father, help me to live by Your Word and manifest the divine life in this world. Amen.

Learning the humility of Christ

Broadcast 4163

Watch today's video: streamglobe.org/vid4163
Matthew 11:29 (NET) "Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

There was a time in my life when I didn’t see the need for the discipline of fasting in my walk with the Lord. Many of the reasons people gave for fasting didn’t resonate with me.

But a conversation with a friend, who had been listening to sermons by Derek Prince, changed that. He explained that fasting is so powerful because it is one of the most effective ways people humble themselves before God.

At that moment, it clicked for me. God gives grace (spiritual power) to the humble (see 1 Peter 5:5-6, James 4:6-7). That’s why fasting leads to an increase in spiritual power—it’s a way of humbling ourselves before God and receiving His grace. This is why fasting is such a powerful and effective discipline when seeking God’s face.

When man fell (Psalm 49:12), he became like one of the animals, to the extent that many now refer to humans as "higher animals." The only way God could redeem humanity and restore us to our original place of glory was to become like one of us. Divine justice required the sacrifice of a man, but no one was qualified because all had sinned, being descendants of Adam (see Romans 3:23). So Jesus came with the seed of the Spirit of God as the first new creation man. Without the sinful seed of Adam, He was qualified to take away the sins of the whole world.

In order to accomplish this, Jesus—God Himself—had to strip away His divine glory and become a humble man who would be killed by His own creatures. Such humility is unmatched, and the glory it brings is equally unparalleled (see Philippians 2:7-11).

Go into today remembering that God gives grace to the humble. Do you desire to walk in great grace like our Lord Jesus? Then let Him be your example of humility. Seek to maintain a humble heart in all you do.

Prayer: Lord, deliver me from every root of pride and help me to walk in perfect humility and gentleness. Amen.

Turning the Grace of God Into License

Broadcast 4161
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): streamglobe.org/aud4161
Watch today's video: streamglobe.org/vid4161
Jude 1:4 (NET) "For certain men have secretly slipped in among you – men who long ago were marked out for the condemnation I am about to describe – ungodly men who have turned the grace of our God into a license for evil and who deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ."
A preacher traveled a long distance to speak at a church that had invited him. While resting in his motel room, he heard a knock at the door. To his surprise, it was a desperate prostitute who saw him as a potential client. He felt great pity for her and kindly informed her that he wasn’t interested. As she left, he thought, "If only this precious one could receive the gospel and be set free."

The next day, when he arrived at the church, he was shocked to find the same prostitute as one of the choir's lead singers. Confused, he inquired about her and learned that some church leaders were aware of her actions but chose to overlook them. Their reasoning? "After all, we are under grace. It’s not by works, but by grace."

This church and its leaders had dangerously misunderstood the grace of God, treating it as a license to sin. They were in great spiritual peril, yet they didn’t realize it.

When God's grace is not properly understood, it can be misused as an excuse for sinful behavior by those who do not love righteousness (Romans 6:1-2). However, when truly understood, God’s grace is the most powerful force against sin in the life of a believer (Romans 6:14). Grace is not permission to continue in sin but the means by which we are empowered to live above sin.

Some mistake grace for a license because righteousness under grace does not depend on works or rules but is received as a gift and appropriated by faith. This faith helps the believer understand that they are accepted by God, not because of their actions but because of the righteousness of Jesus. Living from this standpoint of faith is the key to walking in true righteousness, which has dominion over sin.

Go into today remembering that one of the devil's strategies is to deceive believers into turning God's grace into a license for sin. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Confession:
Sin has no dominion over me. I walk in grace, not under condemnation. Hallelujah!

Genesis 8:22 (KJV) While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Instead of picking stones from her beans like many others, Amanda used the clever method of pouring the beans into water. This caused the stones and bad beans to settle, making it easier to pick out the good ones. She would then throw out the water, along with the bad beans and stones, on a small patch of soil in her backyard.

Over time, Amanda noticed that some of the beans thrown out started germinating and growing. She allowed them to grow, and in due time, she harvested a small bucket full of beans from that unintentional planting. However, Amanda didn’t have a bountiful harvest because, although she sowed, her sowing wasn’t intentional.

Seedtime is when you plant or give away in hope, while harvest is when you receive as a result of what has been sown. Only the unwise fail to realize that for every harvest, there was first a seedtime. Life operates by the law of seedtime and harvest.

Many times, people sow seeds without realizing it. However, those who expect a bountiful harvest are deliberate and intentional in their sowing. If you want a bountiful harvest, you must sow bountifully and with purpose.

Many believers today expect a bountiful harvest from the Lord but haven’t been intentional or purposeful in their sowing.

For instance, sowing quality time in daily prayer reaps a harvest of spiritual power and intimacy with God (see James 5:16, Heb 11:6).

Sowing in the place of the Word yields a harvest of divine wisdom, understanding, and mountain-moving faith (see Psalm 19:7, Romans 10:17).

Financially sowing in love to support the work of God brings a harvest of financial increase and open doors (see Luke 6:38, Phil 4:18-19).

Go into today determined to prepare for a bountiful harvest by sowing bountifully (see 2 Cor 9:6).

Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me to be deliberate, purposeful, and wise in my sowing. Amen.

Humility: the way to the top

Philippians 2:5-8 (NET)  "You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had, who though he existed in the form of God did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped, but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature. He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross!"

While studying humility, and realizing it is the strongest attribute of Christ’s nature as pointed out in scripture (see Matthew 11:29, Philippians 2:5-8), I found myself asking the Lord why so much emphasis is placed on this subject. The answer became clear when I remembered that pride was one of the things that transformed the angel Lucifer into Satan. Pride entered his heart, and iniquity was found in him (Ezekiel 28:14-17).

One of the deepest roots of iniquity is pride, while its opposite, humility, is a foundation of righteousness.

As powerful as God is, He is humble. We are called to be like God, not like the devil (see 1 Peter 1:16). Pride is a root of iniquity, and the Lord opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5-6). Anyone who walks in pride finds themselves walking under the resistance of heaven—a dangerous place to be.

Do you want to live under the blessings of heaven? Do you desire your prayers to be answered even before you utter them? Then seek true humility. I believe one reason Moses had such great power with God was because he was the most humble man on earth in his time (see Numbers 12:3).

Go into today with the determination to be like Jesus in your heart. Humility is the strongest attribute of Christ’s nature.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you resist all forms of pride and give you grace to be more humble and gentle (see Ephesians 4:2).

The Blood of Jesus

Broadcast 4159

Watch today's video: streamglobe.org/vid4159
Revelation 12:11 (KJV) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Deshawn was afflicted, and he knew the reason why. There was a time in his life when he had been careless and opened the door to the devil through sinful living. Although he had since repented, he still struggled with the affliction.

Because he knew his affliction began when he backslid and ventured into the world, Deshawn lacked the courage to resist the devil and receive his freedom. He felt unworthy of God’s intervention.

One night, through the ministry of the Word, the Lord opened his eyes to the power and effect of the blood of Jesus. He realized that because of the blood of Jesus, he had been redeemed from the hand of the devil and justified before God—just as if he had never sinned. That same week, he permanently broke free from the devil’s affliction.

Before Satan can afflict someone, he must first successfully accuse them before God (see Job 1:9-12, where Satan accused Job before God and received permission to afflict him). Since all have sinned, and the natural tendencies of fallen humanity are sinful, the devil often has potent accusations against people. Based on human righteousness alone, no descendant of Adam can overcome him.

But Jesus came to be the sacrifice that atones for our sins (1 John 2:2). He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, chastised so that we may have peace, and flogged that we may be healed (Isaiah 53:5). Because Jesus, who was innocent and righteous, suffered for our sins, if we believe in Him and abide in Him, we will no longer suffer for our sins.

Through the blood of Jesus, Satan’s legal right to afflict you has been removed because Jesus was afflicted in your place. Based on our own righteousness, we could never overcome the dark powers of this world, but because of Jesus' blood—proof of the price He paid to make us the righteousness of God—we are overcomers!

Go into today remembering that through the blood of Jesus, we overcome Satan and walk in dominion. Hallelujah!

Confession:
By the blood of Jesus, my sins have been forgiven.
By the blood of Jesus, I have been justified and cleansed.
By the blood of Jesus, I have been redeemed from the hand of the devil.
Hallelujah! (Repeat this confession).

Ephesians 4:31-32 (KJV) says, "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

When Tyron was a child, his family moved to a neighborhood where they were a minority race, and as a result, he grew up hearing racial slurs and derogatory comments. Over time, without realizing it, Tyron developed deep-seated bitterness, hatred, and even racism in his heart. These feelings were so ingrained that even after becoming a believer in Christ, his faith couldn’t influence his political views or heal his wounds.

As a businessman, Tyron strove to run his business with righteousness and integrity, yet he noticed a persistent spiritual limitation in his life. No matter how hard he worked, there seemed to be an invisible barrier he could not break through.

During a period of reflection and waiting on the Lord, Tyron realized that he harbored bitterness and resentment toward the majority race in his country. The hatred he had developed was hindering him spiritually and preventing him from fully walking in the blessings of God. Once he repented of this hatred and chose to forgive, his life changed. The spiritual limitations lifted, and he began to walk in the fullness of God’s promises, experiencing the blessing of Abraham in his life.

Many believers today may also struggle with spiritual barriers because of hidden bitterness or hatred toward others. Like Tyron, they may not realize how these emotions are limiting their spiritual growth. The Apostle Paul was able to do great things for the kingdom because he lived above racial and tribal bias. The same can be true for us if we let go of such biases and embrace the love and forgiveness that Christ offers.

Go into today remembering that there is no room for racism or tribalism in the kingdom of God. Forgive, just as God has forgiven you for Christ's sake.

Romans 12:5-6 (NET) says, "So we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another. And we have different gifts according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith."

Jake admired Pastor John’s powerful preaching and desperately wanted to be like him. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t preach like Pastor John. Even though Jake knew he was called to minister to the church, he felt like a failure because his preaching style didn’t match what he saw in Pastor John.

It wasn’t until Jake realized that God never intended for us all to be the same that things began to change for him. Just as the human body has many parts with different functions, the members of Christ’s body have different gifts and roles. Some are called to preach, others to teach, some to prophesy, and others to excel in administration.

Jake discovered that while he wasn’t called to preach like Pastor John, he had been gifted by God to teach the Word with clarity and depth. Once he accepted his own unique calling and stopped comparing himself to others, he found God’s grace and fruitfulness in his ministry.

The body of Christ functions best when each member uses their gifts for God’s purposes. It’s essential that we hone and use the abilities God has given us, rather than hiding them due to comparison or competition. Trying to be someone else only hinders the potential God has placed within you, just as the eye would fail if it tried to taste food like the tongue.

Go into today determined to sharpen and utilize your unique abilities for the advancement of God’s kingdom. Comparing yourself with others is unwise, and God has equipped you with specific gifts for a reason.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me understand and fulfill Your call for my life. Help me embrace my unique gifts and play my part in advancing Your kingdom agenda. Amen.

Wisdom in being led

Proverbs 4:7-8 (KJV): "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her."

Aarav became five times more successful in his business when he started running it according to the principles of God's kingdom. At first, it seemed as if he would not make as much profit because he reduced his interest rates and improved his quality of service. It looked as if he was committing business suicide, but with time, he established himself as the most trusted name in that business in his city. No one had the volume of turnover that he had, and he started making more profit than those with ungodly interest rates.

The true definition of walking in wisdom is walking in the will of God (see Ephesians 5:17). Those who seek the will of God in all things are those who seek to walk wisely in all things. Every foolish decision I have ever made in my life was because I did not consider the will of God as the top priority in that decision-making process.

If you truly seek the will of God as the top priority of your life, you will find it, if you seek it with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 says (KJV): "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

It takes faith to connect with the will of God and see the wisdom therein. Faith provides better sight than natural sight, which is why we should walk by faith and not by sight (see 2 Corinthians 5:7). When walking in faith, patience is required. Hebrews 6:12 (KJV): "That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."

Go into today determined to walk in the will of God as your top priority. Remember that wisdom is the principal thing, and walking in the will of God is the way to walk wisely.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me to exalt Your will and walk wisely all the days of my life. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 (KJV) says, "For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication."

It was during secondary school, in an all-boys school, that a debate arose. One of the boys confidently declared that while the Bible clearly condemns adultery, it says nothing about fornication, referring, of course, to the Ten Commandments. However, the text above refutes this erroneous and false teaching.

Interestingly, while we are told to resist the devil (James 4:7) and to stand firm against principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:12-18), we are specifically instructed to flee fornication and sexual sins. When we resist the devil, he flees from us, but when it comes to fornication, we are the ones charged to flee. But what exactly is fornication?

The word "fornication" is often translated from the Greek word "porneia" in the New Testament. It refers to various forms of illicit sexual activity, including adultery, sexual intercourse between unmarried people, homosexuality, lesbianism, and intercourse with animals. Some Bible versions simplify it as sexual immorality. The New Testament contains numerous warnings and instructions regarding this:

- Acts 15:20 & 29 instructs us to abstain from fornication.

- 1 Corinthians 5:9 tells us to avoid keeping company with fornicators.

- 1 Corinthians 6:18 commands us to flee fornication.

- 1 Corinthians 10:8 warns us not to commit sexual immorality.

- Ephesians 5:3 says fornication should not even be named among believers.

- Colossians 3:5 (TLB) tells us to have nothing to do with sexual sins.

- 1 Thessalonians 4:3 clearly instructs us to abstain from fornication.

- 2 Timothy 2:22 advises us to flee youthful lusts.

As you go into today, remember that it is God's will for you to abstain from sexual sins. Living a life of sanctification requires fleeing from such temptations.

Romans 12:3 (NET) says, "For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith."

David knew from a young age that God had anointed him to be a minister of the gospel, but he struggled to be effective in his calling. Despite his best efforts, he always fell short of his own expectations, which left him feeling unhappy and depressed. As he grew spiritually, David realized that his biggest obstacle was his pride. God was resisting him because of his arrogance. He believed he was superior to other ministers, even though his own ministry wasn’t thriving. He would forbid those who followed him from listening to any other ministers or reading books other than his own. David eventually understood that if he wanted to be effective in God’s work, he needed to be free from his pride and superiority complex.

The instruction in today’s Bible verse is crucial for anyone who wants to fulfill their ministry. Without humility and honest self-reflection, it’s impossible to fully receive the grace God has provided to minister to others. God gives grace to the humble but opposes the proud.

As you go into today, make a conscious effort not to think of yourself more highly than you should. You cannot effectively minister God's grace to those you believe you are better than. You are not better than anyone else. Everything you have is a gift from God, even your intelligence. You didn’t contribute to being born with a sound mind, so you are no better than someone born with a lower IQ. Every grace and ability God has given you is meant to bless others, not to be a source of pride.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, deliver me from all pride and help me fulfill my ministry and bring you pleasure. Amen.

The proof that you belong to Christ

Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV): "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

LeBron wasn’t sure if Prophet Uli was a true man of God because of his unusual way of demonstrating the power of God. He asked his father, a seasoned believer, for advice on how to discern if Uli was legitimate. His father gave him simple counsel: Watch Uli closely and study his driving force. Does Uli love righteousness and hate iniquity? Is his ministry driven by a desire for fame or money, or by a genuine desire to raise disciples of Jesus?

It didn’t take long for LeBron to discern that Uli was more interested in raising money than disciples of Jesus. He also discovered that Uli, despite working miracles, was a worker of iniquity.

One of the most frightening aspects of deception is that those who are deceived often don’t realize it. There are many who believe they belong to Jesus, but in reality, they do not—they’ve been misled.

The people the Lord refers to in today’s scripture truly believed they belonged to Him. They performed miracles in His name, but the reality is they were never in the faith. I believe they were able to perform miracles because the name of Jesus has unlimited credit; people can draw from it through faith. However, that doesn’t mean they belong to Him. Jesus says that those who belong to Him are not just those who cry, “Lord, Lord,” but those who do the will of His Father in heaven (see Matthew 7:21).

How then can we be sure we truly belong to Christ and avoid being deceived, especially since those who are deceived also believe they belong to Him?

Jesus gives us the answer in today’s scripture: those who were rejected were workers of iniquity. This is the ultimate test to discern whether you are truly in the faith. You may perform miracles in His name, but if you are still a worker of iniquity, it’s proof that you do not belong to Him.

Apostle Paul echoes this truth in 2 Timothy 2:19: "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity."

Go into today knowing that if you truly belong to Christ, you will avoid all known iniquity. You cannot claim to belong to Christ while continuing to condone what you know He detests. The ultimate seal of belonging to Christ is departing from iniquity. This doesn’t mean you won’t make mistakes, but it means you cannot continue in known sin and still claim to belong to Christ.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please deliver from deception. Help me walk in your nature and depart from all iniquity.

Appropriating the Divine Nature

2 Peter 1:4 (KJV) "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."
Daniel not only received divine healing, but as a result of the revelation he gained during his healing process, he no longer fell sick. This was a manifestation of the divine nature in him, which we can call Divine Health. But how did he begin to walk in this divine nature? It was through the power of God’s promises.

During the time he was sick, Daniel studied the Word of God concerning healing and health. As he meditated on certain promises about healing, those promises became Rhema (a living word) to him. He knew he was healed because he heard and received those promises by faith.

Today's Bible verse shows us that it is through God's magnificent promises that we partake in His divine nature. One of the reasons it is essential for believers to know the Scriptures is because they contain God’s promises. It is through these promises that faith is activated, enabling us to manifest the divine nature that the promises reveal.

It is possible to be a believer and not experience certain aspects of the divine nature simply because you are unaware of, or have not received, the promises of God that activate those manifestations. This is why God's people can suffer due to a lack of knowledge (see Hosea 4:6; Job 36:12; Proverbs 5:23; Proverbs 10:21, ESV).

Go into today remembering that God’s promises are the keys that unlock different manifestations of His divine nature in your life.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you know and stand on all His promises.

The Power of Transformation

Romans 7:15, 24-25 (NET): "For I don’t understand what I am doing. For I do not do what I want – instead, I do what I hate... Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

Jake grew up in a Christian home and was taught to be disciplined. However, as he grew older, he found that even though he knew what was right and fully understood the consequences of sin, he was trapped by its power. At one point, Jake concluded that it was impossible to live above sin. He first embraced a doctrine that justified living in sin while claiming to be saved. Later, he came to believe that any Christian who claimed to live above sin was simply a hypocrite.

It wasn’t until Jake went to college and had a roommate named Tristan—a former gang member and drug addict—that his perspective began to change. Tristan had become a believer and was a living example of the transformation only Christ can bring. He was completely free from his old sins, and Jake could clearly see this. Tristan’s genuine faith and love were evident, and his testimony opened Jake's heart to the possibility of true transformation.

Although Jake had believed in the Lord Jesus since childhood, he had never been properly discipled. He didn’t understand that believing in Christ was not the end—it was the beginning of a journey toward becoming like Christ. Through Tristan, Jake realized that Jesus not only forgives our sins but also changes us from within, giving us His divine nature.

Only in Christ can a sinner be transformed into a saint. Only through the resurrection power of Christ can a person's nature be changed. This transformation begins when we believe in the Lord Jesus and continues as we remain in Him, allowing His Word to renew our minds.

Go into today remembering that Jesus didn’t come just to forgive your past sins; He came to take away your sinful nature and replace it with His divine nature.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me abide in you and become like you. Amen.

The Promise to Inherit the World 2

Romans 4:13 (NET): "For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would inherit the world was not fulfilled through the law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith."

I recently watched a movie that graphically portrayed the persecution and martyrdom of early Christians. Watching it reminded me of the true essence of the faith. Those believers didn’t abide in Christ because it was comfortable or because they were expecting breakthroughs in this life. They remained steadfast because they were properly discipled to know and love the Lord and to understand the true essence of their faith and the incomparable hope it provides.

They knew that the Lord would return in glory, and they would inherit all things. They weren’t intimidated by the power or fading glory of the Roman Empire because they understood they were going to inherit the whole earth and rule with Christ. Their faith was anchored in the blessed hope of the resurrection and the glory that would be revealed in them when Christ returns. They knew they had imperishable rewards that the Lord would give them on that day. It was this understanding of eternal truths that kept them strong in the faith, even under brutal persecution from the Roman Empire.

God promised Abraham that he and his descendants would be heirs of the world. This promise was not fulfilled in Abraham's day, but he saw enough to trust that the One who made the promise would bring it to pass. He lived in the hope of this promise and rejoiced to see the day of the Lord—the same day that believers today look forward to. He saw it [in visions] and was glad (see John 8:56).

As you go into today, remember to place your hope in the faithfulness of the living God. It is impossible for Him to lie, and He has promised to give you His kingdom. We are literally going to inherit all things. What we stand to gain is so great that our current minds cannot fully comprehend it. Satan sneers in envy but can do nothing about it. God is on your side. He desires to give you His kingdom.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please cleanse my heart from all distractions and help me live in the light of your blessed hope.

The Promise to Inherit the World

Broadcast 4149

Romans 4:13 (NET): "For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would inherit the world was not fulfilled through the law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith."

When the Lord returns, mortality will put on immortality (see 1 Corinthians 15:53). Those who are in Christ will be resurrected with glorified bodies and will be rewarded according to their works (see Revelation 22:12). As part of their reward, they will be given authority to rule over the nations (see Revelation 2:26-27). During this time, the kingdoms of the world will become the kingdom of Christ (see Revelation 11:15). Those who are heirs of the kingdom will rule and reign with the Lord over the entire earth—they will literally inherit the earth.

When Jesus says, "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth," He meant it literally. One of the key characteristics of being a disciple of Christ is meekness. Jesus says, "Learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart." You cannot be a disciple of Christ without shedding the human nature of pride and embracing the meek nature of Christ.

When the Lord returns to establish His kingdom on earth, we will be heirs of this kingdom, which will own and control the entire universe, including every part of the earth. What a glorious day that will be. The whole creation waits eagerly for this day when the sons of God will be manifested through the resurrection (see Romans 8:19-23)

As you go into today, remember that God’s promise to Abraham about inheriting the world is fulfilled through the righteousness that comes from faith in Christ. Give thanks to God for the privilege of being in Christ.

Purifying Your Motives in Prayer

Broadcast 4148
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): streamglobe.org/aud4148
Watch today's video: streamglobe.org/vid4148
James 4:2-3 (NIV): "You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

Tinuke and Adenike were best friends in university. But after they graduated, it seemed that Tinuke was progressing much faster than Adenike. Tinuke secured a high-paying job, while Adenike struggled to find work. Tinuke got engaged and married, but Adenike remained single.

Adenike became troubled, feeling as though God no longer answered her prayers. She began questioning the Lord, asking why her situation wasn’t improving.

In His mercy, the Lord revealed to Adenike that since graduation, her prayers were tainted by envy toward Tinuke. Whenever she prayed, Tinuke was in her mind, and her prayers were fueled by covetousness. She hadn’t realized that this envy was blocking her progress and blessings.

When there’s envy or covetousness in the heart of a believer, it corrupts their motives and hinders them from receiving from the Lord. God does not answer prayers born from fleshly desires because He is a good Father who does not reward unhealthy behaviors.

When someone truly trusts in God and believes that everything they need comes from Him, they won’t be envious of their neighbor’s success. They rest in the assurance that God’s plans for them are perfect and unique.

From today’s Bible verse, we learn that praying with envy or covetousness is a sure way to hinder our prayers from being answered. Envy leads to bitterness, and in God’s kingdom, those who harbor hatred in their hearts are likened to murderers (see 1 John 3:15).

As you go into today, ask the Lord to purify your motives so that you can pray prayers that are pleasing to Him.

Prayer: Lord, deliver me from every form of envy and pride. Help me to pray with pure motives and according to Your will. Amen.

Living worthily of God's call

Broadcast 4147
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): streamglobe.org/aud4147
Watch today's video: streamglobe.org/vid4147

Ephesians 4:1-3 (NET): "I, therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live worthily of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."

Since the day Colins and Candy got married, they frequently had bitter quarrels and misunderstandings. Colins had a picture-perfect idea of what his ideal wife should be like, but after marrying Candy, he was disappointed that she didn’t meet his expectations. Candy, on the other hand, wanted Colins to be the perfect gentleman she could control, but he resisted her efforts. Their situation was even more disheartening because they were both leaders in the church, yet they couldn’t seem to live in peace.

After seeking marriage counseling with their pastor, they realized that the root of their problems was pride and a lack of willingness to bear with one another in love. Once they acknowledged their pride and chose to humble themselves, their marriage began to thrive.

One of the saddest things to witness is division and conflict in Christian homes or fellowships. Maintaining peace often requires intentional effort. A believer who is quarrelsome and divisive is not living in a manner worthy of their calling in Christ.

How do believers live worthily? We do so by making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. To maintain peace and unity, we must be patient and willing to bear with others in love. This is only possible when we are humble and gentle. A proud person cannot achieve this.

As you go into today, remember that walking in a manner worthy of the Lord enables you to experience His glorious power and freedom. Humility and gentleness are essential traits of those who live in a way that pleases the Lord.

Prayer: Lord, help me walk in a manner worthy of my calling in You and to please You in all things. Amen.

Iron Sharpens Iron

Romans 1:11-12 (NET): "For I long to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you, that is, that we may be mutually comforted by one another’s faith, both yours and mine."

Zabir was feeling very discouraged because of some issues at work. He had been falsely accused because he refused to compromise, and as a result, he was unfairly demoted. Despite praying about the situation, it seemed like God wasn’t answering him. To make matters worse, his small group leader at church was beginning to get on his nerves.

As his frustration grew, Zabir’s faith started to weaken. One day, he was invited to dinner by his discipler and his wife. During the dinner, he opened up about his challenges, and his discipler encouraged him. After leaving, Zabir realized that beyond the wisdom he received from the conversation, he felt strengthened and more courageous, simply from the time he spent with his discipler. From then on, whenever his faith felt weak, Zabir made it a point to spend time with his discipler, knowing it always left him renewed.

On the other hand, Zabir also noticed that there were certain people he spent time with who seemed to drain his faith and resolve to live for Christ. Some of these were even believers, but they were worldly and did not inspire him to pursue holiness.

As you go about your day, remember to be mindful of the people you surround yourself with. Iron sharpens iron, and even the sharpest blades need to be honed. Be deliberate about spending time with those who will build your faith, not weaken it.

Romans 1:4 (KJV) And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

Darel was filled with joy because he was now walking in his sonship as a child of God. He knew the love of the Father and was now comfortable calling God his dad. He knew the fellowship of the Father and of Jesus the son of God. This most beautiful adventure for him began when he started taking holiness seriously. He understood that he already had the nature of God, but in order for him to walk in it, he needed to separate himself from the corruption of the world and cleanse himself of all defilement of flesh and of spirit. The fact that he could walk in the nature of God was His biggest reward and contentment. Even at times when he lost things, his joy did not wane because he knew he did not lose his godliness.

From today's Bible verse, we see that even the Lord Jesus was declared to be the son of God, according to the spirit of Holiness. God's promise of being our father is consequent upon our separation unto Him.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (KJV) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Go into today remembering that the way to appropriate your sonship is to embrace the holiness of God and walk in His nature.

The Power to Become Sons

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (NET) "Therefore ‘come out from their midst, and be separate,’ says the Lord, ‘and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,’ says the All-Powerful Lord."

Darel wondered why he wasn't walking in the sonship he was promised when he gave his life to Christ. The person who preached to him had said that if he accepted Jesus as his Lord, he would be saved and God would become his Father. Something in him knew this was true, so he gave his life to Christ and received salvation.

But weeks later, Darel realized that he wasn’t yet practically walking in the fullness of sonship. So, he started asking the right people the right questions.

One of the things Darel learned was that by receiving Christ, God had given him the power to become a son of God (see John 1:12). This power enables him to separate himself from the world and walk in the holiness of God. Today's Bible verses show us that those who separate themselves from the defilements of this world are the ones who will truly experience the reality of their sonship.

Because of this, Darel stopped hanging out with his unbelieving friends; they were negatively influencing him. He also unsubscribed from many online channels that produced unwholesome content. He learned the way of sanctification and, in no time, began to practically walk in the communion of sonship.

As you go into today, remember that if you have given your life to Christ, you have the power of the Holy Spirit to separate yourself from everything that defiles and to embrace God's promise of sonship.

Avoid Comparisons

2 Corinthians 10:12 (NET) "For we would not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who recommend themselves. But when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding."

Even though Elvis had a larger congregation and a bigger following, through a series of revelations, he came to realize that through faithfulness, Luis had attained a greater stature in the kingdom of God than him. This realization led Elvis to seek Luis's help when his wife was diagnosed with an incurable illness. Luis entreated God on behalf of Elvis and his wife, and she was miraculously healed. Elvis knew he didn’t have the spiritual stature to handle the situation, but Luis did.

If Luis had lacked understanding, he might have compared himself to Elvis and missed the opportunity to exercise his authority before the Lord.

One of the clearest signs that a believer lacks understanding is when they are caught in the web of comparisons and envy. Understanding helps us recognize that God has unique assignments for each of us. You cannot do my assignment, and I cannot do yours. God will reward us based on the assignments He has given us.

Often, believers fall into the trap of comparisons because they lack an eternal perspective. As believers, we possess eternal life, and that means we should also have an eternal perspective on life. Being materialistic and measuring success by material possessions contradicts the eternal perspective God grants us through His kingdom (see Luke 12:15).

As you go into today, remember that the greatness that truly matters is greatness in the eternal kingdom. This is determined by our conformity to the image of Christ and our faithfulness to the unique assignments He has given us.
