The Power of Gratitude in Receiving God’s Promises

Psalm 103:3 (KJV) "Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."

It’s easy to overlook the magnitude of what God has done for us through forgiveness and healing. Yet, a heart of gratitude unlocks the fullness of His blessings.

Think about the story of the ten lepers in Luke 17:11-19. All ten were healed of their disease as they obeyed Jesus’ instruction to show themselves to the priests. However, only one returned to express gratitude. Jesus said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you whole.” The man’s gratitude brought him more than physical healing—it brought wholeness.

Gratitude deepens our relationship with God and opens the door for greater manifestations of His power in our lives. When we consistently thank God for forgiving our sins and healing our diseases, we remain connected to the source of our strength and health.

Living in gratitude also reminds us of God’s faithfulness. When we face challenges, recalling past mercies fuels our faith to trust Him for future victories. David expressed this beautifully in Psalm 103:2, saying, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”

The same God who forgave your sins yesterday will forgive you today. The same God who healed you before is still able to heal you now.

Reflection:

  • Have you taken time to truly thank God for the forgiveness of your sins and the healing of your body?
  • Are there areas of your life where gratitude can bring greater wholeness and restoration?

Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for Your mercy, love, and faithfulness. Help me to never forget Your benefits and to live a life of gratitude. Strengthen my faith to receive all You have promised for me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Cost of Forgiveness and the Gift of Healing

Psalm 103:3 (KJV) "Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."

Imagine someone crashes into your parked car, wrecking the bumper and backlights. Later, they come to you, apologizing and asking for forgiveness. If you say, “I forgive you, you can go,” it means you’ve taken responsibility for the damage. You’re choosing to pay for the repairs yourself.

Many people don’t realize that when God says, “I forgive you,” it’s because He has already paid the price for our sins and is repairing the spiritual damage they caused. Forgiveness isn’t cheap; it cost God the life of His only Son, Jesus Christ.

Yet, some Christians take God’s forgiveness for granted, failing to appreciate its profound cost. This lack of gratitude often limits their fruitfulness in the faith.

The root of all sickness and disease in the world is sin. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). This is why receiving the forgiveness of sins is the starting point for lasting healing. Jesus demonstrated this truth when He healed the sick—often declaring, “Your sins are forgiven,” before addressing their physical ailments (Luke 5:19-21).

James 5:15 reinforces this:
"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."

Go into today knowing that the God who forgives your sins is the same God who heals your diseases. If He is able and willing to forgive you, He is also able and willing to restore your physical and spiritual health. Trust Him to keep you healthy and whole all the days of your life.

Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for forgiving my iniquities and healing my diseases. Grant me the grace to walk in health and wholeness all the days of my life. Amen.

Faith to walk in Spiritual Gifts

Daniel 2:16 (NET) "So Daniel went in and requested the king to grant him time, that he might disclose the interpretation to the king.."

Lanre was in a dilemma. After the Wednesday midweek service, just as everyone was saying the grace, he heard a clear prompting in his spirit: “Go and meet Bosun, I have a word for him.” But Lanre struggled with himself. How can I, a 19-year-old, approach the choir leader? What will I even say? What if no words come, and I end up looking foolish? What if it’s just my imagination playing tricks on me?

What should Lanre do? Better still, what would you do?

In today’s text, we see Daniel in a much greater predicament. The king of Babylon had ordered the execution of all the wise men and astrologers because they couldn’t tell him his dream or its interpretation. The wise men lamented that such a task could only be done by gods who don’t live among men. They didn’t know better.

Yet Daniel boldly approached the king, requesting time to reveal the dream and its interpretation. Remarkably, when Daniel made this request, he didn’t yet know the dream or its meaning. What he did have was faith—faith in the God of heaven who reveals secrets. Daniel believed that God would come through, and that confidence empowered him to take the bold step.

To make full use of your God-given gifts, you must trust that God’s power will flow through you. Consider Peter and John in Acts 3:6,12,16. They didn’t rely on their own strength but on the authority of Jesus.

The power is not yours; it belongs to Jesus. Yet He has given you the authority to use His power. Have faith that His power will flow through you as you step out in obedience. By doing so, you give expression to the gifts God has placed in you.

The Mind of Christ

Click here for the audio version (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4227
1 Corinthians 2:16 (NET) "For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to advise him? But we have the mind of Christ."

Evan’s best friend was his dog. Though the loyalty and companionship were undeniable, Evan still felt lonely and depressed because he lacked genuine human friends. As wonderful as dogs are, they don’t have the mind of man. They cannot provide the deep counsel or connection that only another human can offer.

God created man in His image and likeness, enabling us to think, reason, and relate to Him on a deeper level. This unique design gives us the potential to have the mind of Christ and be friends of God. But this privilege doesn’t come automatically—it begins with regeneration, a spiritual rebirth through faith in Christ. Without being born again, we remain disconnected from God and incapable of having His mind (John 3:3-5).

The mind of Christ is not simply about thinking godly thoughts or striving to obey; it is about a transformation that starts with faith in Christ's redemptive work on the cross. Through faith, we are made new creatures, capable of understanding spiritual truths and yielding to God’s authority (2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 12:2). Without this regeneration, the mind of Christ remains out of reach.

As you go into today, reflect on the incredible privilege of being a friend of God. Remember, this is only possible through regeneration—a new birth in Christ that gives us the mind of Christ. Once we receive this transformation, we can grow in humility, obedience, and unwavering trust in our heavenly father (Philippians 2:5-11).

Reflection: Have you been born again through faith in Christ? If not, ask God today for the gift of regeneration, and step into the life-changing relationship He desires to have with you.

Proverbs 27:5-6 (KJV)"Open rebuke is better than secret love. [6] Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful."

Tamara and Briana were best friends, known for their honesty and loyalty to each other. One day, during a group project at church, Tamara noticed that Briana often dismissed other members' ideas and insisted on her way. It wasn’t intentional; Briana was passionate and eager to see the project succeed. However, her approach was causing tension, and some group members were quietly withdrawing.

After much prayer, Tamara decided to speak with Briana. “Briana,” she said gently, “I love how committed you are to the project, but I’ve noticed something. Sometimes, when you push your ideas too strongly, others feel like their contributions aren’t valued. I know it’s not your intention, but it’s starting to affect the team.”

Briana felt a sting of embarrassment. She trusted Tamara, but the correction hurt. At first, her pride wanted to dismiss it. “Tamara, you know I’m just trying to keep things on track,” she replied defensively.

Tamara nodded. “I understand, and I admire that. But part of leading well is making others feel heard. You’ve got the heart for it—I know you can do this.”

Later that evening, as Briana reflected on Tamara’s words, she realized her friend was right. The next day, she apologized to the group and encouraged everyone to share their ideas. To her surprise, the project improved dramatically, and the team felt more united. Briana later thanked Tamara, saying, “It hurt to hear, but I’m grateful you cared enough to tell me the truth.”

Just like Briana, we may feel defensive or hurt when corrected by a peer or friend. But when we approach these situations with humility, they can lead to growth and stronger relationships. Proverbs 27:6 reminds us that the wounds of a friend are faithful—they come from a place of love and care.

God places people in our lives, like Tamara, to sharpen us and help us become better versions of ourselves (Proverbs 27:17). True friends prioritize your growth over comfort and are willing to risk awkwardness for the sake of your well-being.

Let us strive to be like Briana, humbly accepting correction, and like Tamara, lovingly giving it when needed. In doing so, we fulfill James 5:16—confessing our faults to one another and praying for each other, leading to healing and restoration.

Reflection Question:
Who in your life has spoken the truth in love to you? How can you respond in humility and gratitude?

Similarly, is there someone God is calling you to gently correct in love today?

Proverbs 27:5-6 (KJV)"Open rebuke is better than secret love. [6] Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful."
It must have been both difficult and humbling for Peter, the leader of the early church appointed by Christ, to face open rebuke from Paul—a former persecutor of Christians. Yet, Peter’s humility in accepting Paul’s correction revealed his spiritual maturity. He saw God’s truth in the rebuke and later referred to Paul affectionately as a “beloved brother” (Galatians 2:11-14, 2 Peter 3:15). Paul’s actions exemplified the faithfulness of a true friend.

Hebrews 12:7-12 reminds us of the importance of accepting correction, whether it comes from God or earthly authorities. While it might seem easier to receive chastisement from those in positions of higher authority, the real challenge arises when correction comes from peers or friends.

God, though infinitely higher than us in authority and might, humbled Himself and called us His brethren and friends (Hebrews 2:9-11, John 15:15). Similarly, we are called to humility when corrected by others. A friend’s rebuke may sting more deeply because of the trust and intimacy in the relationship, but their insights often come from a place of love and understanding. Friends know us personally and can address our faults with greater precision (Proverbs 18:24).

However, pride can prevent us from accepting correction, especially from those we consider equals. If we only respond to rebuke from those “above” us and dismiss peer correction, we risk allowing the enemy to use our ego to lead us astray (Matthew 23:12). True growth comes from being humble and teachable, no matter the source of the rebuke.

From today, commit to rejecting pride and embracing humility. Be open to correction from believing peers and bold enough to confess your faults to them. Such vulnerability invites prayers that lead to healing and deliverance (James 5:16, Job 42:8-10).

Philippians 1:21-24 (NET) "For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain. Now if I am to go on living in the body, this will mean productive work for me, yet I don’t know which I prefer: I feel torn between the two because I have a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far, but it is more vital for your sake that I remain in the body."

Adanna was a successful lawyer working in a top firm. Though she attended church regularly, her faith had little impact on her daily life. A turning point came when she attended a retreat and heard a message about living intentionally for Christ. She decided that her career, which she had once pursued for personal ambition, would now be a tool to glorify God.

Not long after her decision, Adanna was assigned a case involving a young man falsely accused of a crime. As she worked tirelessly to defend him, she learned about his difficult background and his desperate need for hope. Adanna felt compelled to share the gospel with him, something she had never done in a professional setting before. The young man not only won his case but also gave his life to Christ. That single case marked the beginning of Adanna’s mission to integrate her faith into her profession, impacting countless lives.

Adanna’s story is a reminder that living for Christ isn’t confined to church or ministry work—it’s about using every part of your life for His purpose. Like the Apostle Paul, who saw every moment of his life as an opportunity to glorify Christ, we too can turn our ordinary experiences into extraordinary testimonies when we live for Him.

Go into today with the mindset that every moment, no matter how ordinary, can be used for God’s glory when you live intentionally for Christ. Your life may be the only gospel some people will ever encounter.

Prayer: Lord, help me to see every moment and opportunity as a chance to live for You. Teach me to use my skills, career, and relationships to bring glory to Your name. Amen.

Another critical dimension of living for Christ is endurance through trials. While living for Christ brings purpose, productivity, and divine alignment, it does not exempt believers from challenges. In fact, such a life often involves enduring difficulties for the sake of the gospel. However, these challenges are not in vain; they refine us and bring glory to God.

The Apostle Paul himself faced severe hardships—imprisonments, beatings, shipwrecks, and opposition. Yet, he remained steadfast because his life was not his own; it was Christ’s. Living for Christ gave him the strength to endure and the perspective to see trials as opportunities for God’s power to manifest. In Philippians 1:29, Paul reminds us that it is a privilege not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for His sake.

Dozie’s journey wasn’t without challenges either. After deciding to live fully for Christ, he faced ridicule from some friends who didn’t understand his new focus. There were moments of doubt and seasons of difficulty, but his commitment to live for Christ sustained him. He discovered that each trial strengthened his faith and deepened his dependence on God.

When you live for Christ, you draw strength from Him in times of weakness. Trials become stepping stones to greater maturity, and each victory strengthens your resolve to keep pressing forward. Endurance in trials also becomes a testimony to others, inspiring them to trust in God during their own difficulties.

Go into today remembering that living for Christ equips you to endure and overcome trials. Every challenge you face while walking with Him will ultimately work for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28).

Prayer: Lord, in moments of difficulty, help me to find strength in You. Teach me to endure trials with faith and to see them as opportunities to glorify Your name. Amen.

Living for Christ doesn’t just impact your spiritual well-being; it also aligns every part of your life—your health, relationships, and even your decisions—with divine order. Dozie’s testimony of walking in divine health is an example of how living for Christ brings wholeness. But there’s another dimension to living for Christ that is worth exploring: fruitfulness.

A life lived for Christ is not only purposeful but productive. Apostle Paul recognized that as long as he remained in the body, his life would result in “productive work” for the benefit of others. He saw his life as an opportunity to advance the kingdom of God and enrich the lives of those around him. Paul’s life exemplified the principle that when we live for Christ, our lives naturally bear fruit that lasts (John 15:16).

Living for Christ means surrendering personal ambitions and embracing God’s mission for your life. This might involve ministering to others, excelling in your career with integrity, or supporting your community through acts of service. It is a call to shift your focus from self-centered living to Christ-centered living.

The beautiful paradox is this: when you prioritize living for Christ, you gain true fulfillment. As Paul discovered, living for Christ does not diminish your life; instead, it enhances it. This includes experiencing the joy of fulfilling your divine purpose and the assurance of eternal rewards.

Go into today knowing that living for Christ positions you to be fruitful and impactful. Your life will not only glorify God but also bless others in ways that extend beyond your imagination.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I want my life to be fruitful and impactful for Your glory. Help me surrender my plans to Your will and live in a way that blesses others and fulfills Your purpose for me. Amen.

Dozie used to be very sickly and relied on expensive medication to survive. One day, he attended a youth conference where he learned that the life of a believer is meant to be lived for the purpose of Christ. He resolved to dedicate his life to fulfilling God’s assignment for him. With God's guidance, he discovered his purpose for each season of life and worked diligently to accomplish it.

As time passed, Dozie noticed a remarkable change—he was no longer sickly and no longer needed the expensive drugs he once depended on. He realized he was now walking in divine health, and it dawned on him that this transformation was a result of living fully for Christ.

In the scripture above, we see Apostle Paul reflecting on the tension between living and dying. He makes it clear that his life was not at the mercy of circumstances or disease. Paul’s life and death were entirely subject to his decision, rooted in his relationship with Christ.

What was Paul’s secret to such control and confidence over his life? It was his unwavering commitment to live for Christ. When Paul said, “living is Christ,” he revealed that his entire life revolved around fulfilling Christ’s purpose.

As you reflect on this today, remember that believers step into a life of power and purpose when they stop living for themselves and fully live for Christ (see *2 Corinthians 5:15*).

Prayer: Lord, help me to live my life for You and align every aspect of my existence with Your purpose. Empower me to fulfill my divine assignment. Amen.

Guarding Your Heart from Corrupting Influences

1 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.”

When Jake moved to a new city, he reconnected with Tega, his best friend from their university days. They were thrilled to rekindle their friendship, but Jake was now a happily married man, while Tega lived recklessly as a womanizer whose marriage had fallen apart.

At first, Jake’s love for his wife remained steadfast, but after six months of close fellowship with Tega, he noticed a troubling change in himself. His affection for his wife began to wane, and he found himself increasingly drawn to other women. Despite his vow never to cheat, he struggled to resist temptation.

After a near fall into adultery with a coworker, Jake sought help. He confided in his pastor, who, through prayer and counsel, helped him realize that Tega’s corrupt influence was spiritually contaminating him. His pastor advised him to break close ties with Tega to protect his marriage and spiritual well-being.

In 1 Corinthians 5, Apostle Paul commanded the church to remove a man living in grievous sin from their fellowship for two reasons. First, the man’s separation from the spiritual covering of the church would lead him to repentance. Second, Paul sought to prevent the spread of the man’s sin—symbolized as leaven—within the body of believers.

Sin acts like a contagious disease, spreading through close associations. This is why believers are cautioned against being unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14) and warned not to maintain close relationships with so-called believers who live like unbelievers (1 Corinthians 5:11).

As you reflect on this, consider your relationships. Are there influences in your life that hinder your spiritual growth or draw you away from God’s path? Guard your heart and seek associations that nurture your faith and honor God.

Prayer: Lord, help me identify and separate from relationships that hinder my walk with You. Strengthen me to surround myself with people who encourage and inspire me to grow in righteousness. Amen.

Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4219
John 15:7 (NET) "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you."

After Chinedu accepted the Lord Jesus, he faced the temptation to return to his old ways and not remain in the Lord. But as he studied *John 15*, he realized that being fruitful required abiding in Christ. This meant making tough decisions, like distancing himself from friends who negatively influenced his faith. It also meant submitting to the Lord in all aspects of his life, including allowing God's Word to guide his business practices.

Many believers today are unfruitful and lack spiritual power because they fail to truly abide in the Lord. While they may attend church services, their lives are still governed by the principles of the world (see 1 John 2:16). You cannot genuinely abide in Christ while continuing to follow worldly values and practices.

To remain in the Lord is to cultivate a genuine relationship with Him. It means caring about His desires and seeking to please Him in every aspect of your life. When God's Word takes root in your heart, it transforms you from within. The living and active Word renews your mind (*Romans 12:2*) and molds you into the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). At that point, your desires align with God's will, and whatever you ask in prayer will be granted because it reflects His purpose.

As you go about your day, remember this: only those who abide in the Lord will bear lasting fruit. They are the ones whose prayers move heaven because they are aligned with God’s will.

Prayer: Lord, help me to abide in You and let Your Word transform my heart and life. Make me fruitful and align my desires with Your will. Amen.

Walking in Practical Sonship

Broadcast 4218
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4218
2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (NET) Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,” says the All-Powerful Lord.

While Chinedu was still mingling with the world and running his business as an unbeliever, he was still having episodes of spiritual attacks and nightmares. There was a night that he literally saw a demon come into his bedroom to torment and oppress him. He wondered why these things were still happening to him. He was told that if he accepted the Lord Jesus, he would become a child of God and would no longer be susceptible to his previous attacks, but that didn't really seem to be the case. He was still having experiences that made him doubt if the power of God was real in his life?

As he decided to abide in the Lord and not go back to the world, he realized that the Holy Spirit moved him to separate himself from his old friends who were unbelievers. He also observed that his faith became much stronger when he did this. With time, he woke up one morning and observed that his afflictions had all disappeared. He was so preoccupied with seeking the Lord and growing that he even forgot about them.

Many believers in the Lord Jesus today are not having the experiential reality of the fatherhood of God and they wonder why.

Today's Bible verse was written to believers who even though they had the motions corresponding to faith in Christ Jesus, they needed to understand that those who would enjoy the fatherhood dimension of relationship with God are those who are wholly separated unto the Lord. This means separation from friendship with the world and living with the consciousness that they are indeed different from the world around them.
Go into today deciding to live a life separated unto the Lord and experiencing the fatherhood dimension of the Lord God.

You have been washed

Broadcast 4217
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4217

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NET)Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God. Some of you once lived this way. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

When Amaka accepted the Lord Jesus, she knew it was time for her to move out of her boyfriend’s house and end that ungodly relationship. But because her boyfriend was rich, she found it very difficult to leave him.

Three weeks had passed and she was still living with him. She started deceiving herself and telling herself that the way she lived her life didn’t matter, that all that mattered was her faith (She didn’t realize that the two could not be separated).

But one night, she dreamt that her filthy rags were changed into pure white clean clothes. But she went and sat down back into the mud from where she was raised. It was no ordinary dream.

The next morning, she packed her things and left her boyfriend’s house. She did this because she realized that she had been washed and cleansed, and continuing in sin was going to get her back into the bondage of the devil.

It is the deception of the devil that makes a believer think he can continue in his sins and inherit the kingdom of God. Jesus says "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven--only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven”(Matt 7:21).

Go into today remembering that as a person sanctified, even if you fall, you get cleansed and do not take your place in sin.

Ask the Lord to send eye-opening encounters and revelations to his children who may be going astray.

Be Vigilant

Broadcast 4216
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4216
1 Peter 5:8 (KJV) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

When Ele traveled to the village during the Christmas holidays last year, it was amidst a lot of prayers and spiritual diligence. You see, she had come to know of the spiritual wickedness that existed in that village. She remembered the stories her grandmother told her about the escapades of the witches in that village; she remembered what they did to her second cousin who became temporarily insane because he visited the village and was careless.

While Ele was in the village, she was very vigilant and prayerful. She avoided unnecessary conversations and avoided arguments and quarrels. Things that normally would have got her angry were overlooked because she was in "vigilance mode". She refused to watch any movie that was not spiritually edifying, and she was always in a prayer mode.

Ele visited the village and came back to the city after the wedding she went to attend. She was unscathed and her spirit even became stronger while she was in the village for two weeks. During this period, her faith was stronger and she was even physically healthier than she had been in a long time. Her asthma inhaler was never touched for those two weeks (something she used to need to use almost on a daily basis).

Ele was sober and vigilant while she was in the village because she realized that she had enemies there who were looking for how to devour her. Her prayer and word life experienced a boost because of this. The truth is that every believer is to be as sober and vigilant as Ele was while she was in the village because as long as we dwell in this world, Satan, the prince of this world, is our adversary who roams around like a roaring lion seeking for whom to devour.

From today's Bible verse we see that we are to be in "vigilance mode" while we live our days in this world. This is the way to stay unscathed and even prosper, despite the roaming and roaring of the devil.

Being sober does not mean being afraid or anxious, it means being wise and intentional about dwelling in the presence of God and avoiding anything that could defile or weaken you spiritually.

Go into today remembering that the only way to pass through this world prosperously and unscathed as a child of the kingdom is for you to heed the warning of today's Bible verse. Activate your vigilance mode and never deactivate it again.

Prayer: Lord, please help me to be sober and vigilant at all times. Help me never fall prey to the wickedness of the enemy, but rather prosper in their midst. Amen

Filled with the knowledge of His will

Broadcast 4215
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4215
Colossians 1:9 (NET) For this reason we also, from the day we heard about you, have not ceased praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding

Chris and Thomas both accepted the Lord Jesus on the same day. Chris humbly submitted himself to discipleship and was accountable to the brethren who were discipling them while Tom was too proud to submit to anyone because he felt he was rich.

Two years passed and Chris was now spiritually mature, exercising authority over unclean spirits and walking in his dominion as a son of God. But Tom was still a spiritual baby whose life was filled with fear. He was regularly tormented by unclean spirits and this manifested in sicknesses and afflictions. Chris was the one who usually prayed for him and he would receive certain relief.

From the day apostle Paul heard of the faith of the Colossians, he didn't cease to pray for them that they would be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. He prayed this way because he understood that it was possible for people to believe, but yet remain spiritually unwise, not understanding the will of the Lord(Ephesians 5:17).

If the devil did not succeed in keeping people spiritually blind and hindering them from the light of the knowledge of God through Christ Jesus, he would do everything to keep them spiritually nearsighted so they won't understand [and walk in] the will of God, and as a result, walk shy of their allotted spiritual authority and benefits. Spiritually unwise believers don't pose too much of a threat to the devil and are not very useful in the hand of God.

This is the reason why after believing in the Lord Jesus, you need to become a disciple. A disciple is a student or apprentice, and in order for anyone to be an apprentice, he needs to humble himself and learn from those ahead of him. It is those who continue in Christ's word that are true disciples (see John 8:31-32). They are those that arrive at the knowledge of the truth and walk in spiritual liberty.

Go into today knowing that submitting to discipleship is the key to growing in the knowledge of the will of God. A proud heart cannot be discipled. The last time you learned and grew in the kingdom of God was the last time your heart was humble. Many believers have had stunted growth because they became proud and stopped learning when they saw spiritual gifts in their lives, etc.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please deliver me from every pride that hinders me from learning and growing in your kingdom. Help me walk in the fulness of your will for me. Amen.

Predestined for Good Works - Part 2

Broadcast 4214
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4214
Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC) For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

In yesterday’s devotion, we explored how God has predestined every believer for good works, a purpose He prepared for us long before we were born. Today, we will continue to look at how walking in this purpose transforms not only our lives but also the lives of those around us.

After Clement gave his life to Christ, he realized that his search for purpose had been misdirected. Fulfillment didn’t come from following his own desires but from aligning with God’s purpose. As he grew in his relationship with the Holy Spirit, he found that God’s purpose gave him the lasting peace he had been searching for. When we walk in the good works God has planned for us, we find true satisfaction—not in achievements or possessions, but in knowing that we are living out God’s will.

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that God has specific plans for each of us, and these plans are always for good. When we discover our unique role in His kingdom, we can live with joy and confidence, knowing that every step we take is purposeful. This doesn’t mean life will always be easy, but it means that even the hard moments have a divine purpose that God will use for our growth and His glory.

Living out the good works God has planned often involves making daily choices that align with His will. For Clement, this meant distancing himself from old habits and choosing new, Spirit-led actions. He committed to studying the Word, seeking fellowship with other believers, and sharing his testimony. As he did this, he found that his life began to reflect the love and grace of Christ more and more.

Each day presents opportunities to walk in the good works God has planned. Sometimes, this means showing kindness to someone in need, sharing the gospel, or simply spending time in prayer and worship. God’s path often includes moments of impact—interactions that might seem small to us but have a big effect in someone else’s life. When we yield to God’s guidance, we can trust that He will lead us to fulfill our purpose.

God never calls us to something without also providing the strength and resources we need to accomplish it. 2 Peter 1:3 assures us that God has given us “everything we need for a godly life.” This means that whatever He calls us to do, He will equip us for. Clement experienced this firsthand as he stepped into his new life. With God’s help, he found the strength to overcome his past struggles and became a source of encouragement to others.

Sometimes, our path may seem challenging, and we may feel inadequate. But when we remember that God has equipped us with His Spirit, we can walk in confidence, relying on His strength rather than our own. When we pray and seek God’s help, He provides the wisdom, courage, and grace we need to fulfill our calling.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the good works You have planned for me. Help me to walk in Your purpose with faith and gratitude. Fill me with Your Spirit, and guide me to live in a way that reflects Your love and grace to others. Amen.

Predestined for Good Works

Broadcast 4213
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4213
Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC) For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
It wasn't until Clement accepted the Lord Jesus and was filled with the Holy Spirit that he understood his purpose for living. With a new vision for life, he began living a purpose-driven, purpose-filled life. Prior to this, Clement lived solely for pleasure, leading to an empty and purposeless existence. In his quest to fill the void in his soul and satisfy his insatiable hunger for pleasure, he succumbed to drug addiction. However, his mother never ceased praying for him, and his life was transformed when he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ.

The infilling of the Holy Spirit provides a well-taught believer with a vision for their life.

A proper study of the Bible on the topic of predestination reveals that it is a discussion typically reserved for believers in Christ (see Ephesians 1:4-5, Romans 8:28-30). Other applications often contradict the clear positions of scripture concerning God's will (1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9, Ezekiel 33:11). God's predestination does not apply to those outside His house; His sole plan for sinners is reconciliation and life. From God's perspective, sinners are dead (Colossians 2:13, Ephesians 2:1, 1 John 3:14, Genesis 2:17). Plans are not made for the dead, but only for those recreated in Christ Jesus who can walk in God's predefined plans—eternal in expression rather than time-based.

Today's Bible verse shows that we who are in Christ have been predestined for good works. Everything you will ever become has already been planned and arranged by God. The more you align with God's will, the more you will find yourself walking in the fullness of His good plans for you.

Remember that the good life God has for you in Christ Jesus has already been properly planned and fully paid for (2 Peter 1:3). All you need to do is receive it by faith with continual thanksgiving.

Prayer: Father, help me walk in faith and thanksgiving. Deliver me from all my fears. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Trusting the Spirit’s Guidance in Every Season

Broadcast 4212
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4212
John 16:13 (NKJV) "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."

As Terron continued his journey with the Holy Spirit, he learned the value of depending on the Spirit’s guidance in every season of life. Whether facing uncertainty, making important decisions, or seeking direction, the Holy Spirit was present to lead him into truth and help him navigate challenges.

The Holy Spirit speaks to us in different ways: through the Word of God, through inner impressions, through wise counsel, and even through circumstances. Terron learned that listening to the Spirit requires both quiet time in God’s presence and an openness to receive His guidance. As we develop the habit of listening, we become more sensitive to the Spirit’s leading and find ourselves walking in alignment with God’s will.

Walking by the Spirit often means stepping out in faith, even when the way forward isn’t fully clear. Trusting the Spirit’s guidance means we may not always understand the "why" or "how" behind God’s direction, but we trust that He is working for our good. As Terron grew in his walk, he learned to take each step in faith, believing that the Spirit’s guidance was leading him toward God’s best for his life.

One of the greatest gifts of following the Holy Spirit’s guidance is the peace He brings, even in uncertain times. When we surrender to the Spirit’s lead, He fills our hearts with a calm assurance that comes from knowing God is in control. This peace guards us against worry and fear and strengthens our trust in God’s perfect timing and provision.

Go into today knowing that the Holy Spirit is your guide and helper in every season. Trust Him with your decisions, seek His guidance in prayer, and remember that He is always leading you in the path of truth and life. When you rely on the Holy Spirit, you can face any season with confidence, knowing that God’s hand is upon you.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, guide me in every step I take. Help me to trust Your direction and fill me with Your peace in every season of life. Amen.

Living Out the Spirit’s Gifts and Calling

Broadcast 4211
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4211

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 (NKJV) "There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all."

As Terron continued to grow in his relationship with the Holy Spirit, he began to realize that God had equipped him not only to grow in personal character but also to serve others. The Holy Spirit gives gifts to each believer, and these gifts are intended to build up the body of Christ and demonstrate God’s love and power in the world.

The Holy Spirit gives different gifts to each believer. Some may receive gifts of wisdom, healing, prophecy, or teaching, while others may receive gifts like serving, leadership, or encouragement. Terron learned that the purpose of these gifts was not to elevate himself but to serve others and bring glory to God. The gifts are given so we can strengthen, encourage, and comfort those around us, helping them to know God’s love and power in practical ways.

For Terron, stepping out in faith to use his gifts meant seeking ways to serve in his local church and community. He found that as he served others with the gifts God had given him, his own faith grew stronger, and he began to experience the Holy Spirit working through him. Each of us has a role in God’s plan, and the Holy Spirit equips us uniquely for the work He’s called us to do. By embracing our gifts and serving where we’re called, we bring unity and strength to the body of Christ.

The gifts of the Spirit are best expressed through love and humility. When we operate in the Spirit’s gifts with love, we reflect Christ to others and fulfill His commandment to love one another. Using our gifts is not about gaining recognition but about serving selflessly and supporting the growth of others. Love and humility help us use our gifts in a way that builds others up and honors God.

Go into today knowing that the Holy Spirit has uniquely gifted you to serve and make a difference. Seek to recognize and use your gifts with humility and love, knowing that each gift contributes to the strength and unity of the body of Christ. Remember that as you serve others, God’s power will work through you, bringing His grace and presence to those around you.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me to recognize and use the gifts You’ve given me to serve others. Teach me to walk in love and humility, and let my life reflect Your glory. Amen.

Growing in the Fruit of the Spirit

Broadcast 4210
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4210
Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."

As Terron deepened his walk with God, he noticed that the more he yielded to the Holy Spirit, the more his character began to change. He wasn’t just experiencing God’s power; he was also growing in love, joy, and peace. This growth is what the Bible calls the "fruit of the Spirit," which naturally develops in a believer who lives a Spirit-led life.

The presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives doesn’t just empower us; it transforms us from the inside out. When we walk with the Spirit daily, our hearts begin to change, and we become more like Christ. This transformation is evident in the fruit of the Spirit—qualities that show God’s character in us. The more we surrender to the Spirit, the more love, patience, kindness, and self-control begin to grow in our lives.

The fruit of the Spirit doesn’t come from human effort but from staying connected to Christ. Jesus said, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit" (John 15:5). Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own, we cannot grow in spiritual fruit unless we remain close to Christ through prayer, worship, and obedience to His Word.

As we grow in the fruit of the Spirit, our lives reflect God’s nature to those around us. People begin to see God’s love, patience, and peace in us, which can draw them closer to Him. The fruits of the Spirit equip us not only for our own spiritual growth but also for impacting others with the love and grace of Christ.

Go into today knowing that the Holy Spirit is at work in you, growing the fruit of a Christ-like character. As you yield to Him, He will continue to develop these qualities in your life, making you a vessel of God’s love, peace, and goodness in the world. Prayer: Lord, help me to grow in the fruit of the Spirit and reflect Your character in all I do. Strengthen me to abide in You daily and transform me from the inside out. Amen.

Walking in the Spirit’s Power and Purpose

Broadcast 4209
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4209

Romans 8:14 (NKJV)  "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."

Terron knew that receiving the Holy Spirit was just the beginning. As he observed his cousin Dequan’s new walk with God, he realized that a Spirit-filled life goes beyond an initial experience; it is a daily journey of walking in God’s power and guidance. The Holy Spirit empowers us not only to overcome sin but to live out God’s purpose in our lives.

To truly walk in the Spirit, we must allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in every area of our lives. This means yielding our decisions, ambitions, and even our daily choices to God’s guidance. The Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts, guiding us through God’s Word, prayer, and sometimes through the wise counsel of others. As we learn to listen and obey His promptings, we are transformed and become more like Christ.

One of the reasons the Holy Spirit fills us is to empower us for the work God has called us to do. Jesus promised His disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them, and this power would enable them to be His witnesses to the world (Acts 1:8). This same power is available to us today, giving us courage to share the gospel, strength to serve others, and wisdom to fulfill our purpose.

Walking in the Spirit also strengthens our faith. The Spirit reminds us of God’s promises and gives us confidence to trust Him, even when challenges arise. He helps us pray in alignment with God’s will, and intercedes for us with groanings that words cannot express (Romans 8:26). This means we don’t have to rely on our own strength but can depend on the Spirit’s support and guidance.

Go into today with the assurance that the Holy Spirit is not only your guide but also your source of power and purpose. If you have handed your life over to Christ, seek to be led by the Holy Spirit daily, and you will experience the fullness of God’s blessing and strength.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, lead me in every step I take. Help me to live in Your power and fulfill the purpose You have for me. Amen.

The Gift of the Holy Spirit

Broadcast 4208
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4208
Acts 2:38 (NET) Peter said to them, “Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Terron was not sure why he had not received the gift of the Holy Spirit even though he was a Christian and had been in church all his life.

He started getting concerned when his cousin, who used to be a thug, believed and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He could see the transformation in Dequan’s life and he could tell that this transformation was because of the power of the Holy Spirit. Dequan could now also speak in tongues and pray in the Holy Spirit. Terron knew this was missing in his life — the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The gift of the Holy Spirit is received when people believe the gospel, repent, and are baptized into the Lord Jesus. Our sins are forgiven because we are now included in Christ and thus are partakers of His righteousness.

One of the reasons the Holy Spirit is given to us is that He might help us in our journey of sanctification. He comes to make us Holy; guiding us into all truth and filling our hearts with His peace and assurance of sonship. He is the one who helps us understand the word of God so we might come to the knowledge of God's truth. This knowledge brings us to the point of liberty from the sinful nature and participation in the divine life.

Go into today remembering that the Holy Spirit is given to those who have repented and are baptized in Christ. This means they have handed over the government of their lives to Christ and intend to so live. The Lord gives such people the Holy Spirit to empower and help them live as sons of God.

Have you handed over the government of your life to Christ or are you still the Lord of your life? This is one of the most important questions to answer if you intend to live a spirit-filled life.

The Mind of A True Apostle

Broadcast 4207

1 Corinthians 2:3-4 (NKJV) I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.
And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power

If you read the verses above, they may appear contradictory at first. Apostle Paul talks here about being with the Corinthians in weakness and much trembling, and yet in the same breath, he is talking about demonstrating the spirit and power of God.

‘I was with you in weakness and much trembling’. What does this mean?
This means Paul made it very clear to everyone that he was just an ordinary human being like them. He refused to elevate himself to superhuman status even though he did very many superhuman things.

For example, there was a time when some of the people he preached to in Lystra wanted to begin worshiping him as a god (Acts 14:14). He tore his clothes and revealed his flesh just to make it clear to them that he was an ordinary human being like them.

I can imagine that happening with some ministers today. They might sit on the throne offered to them, saying something like, “After all, the scriptures say we are gods. We have more authority than these idols they think we are.” But ministers with this attitude can never raise disciples who grow beyond spiritual infancy.

For people to be truly discipled, they need to see that their disciplers are human like them, experiencing the same challenges and struggles. However, if disciplers give the impression that they are somehow superhuman, they won’t be able to raise genuine disciples who mature in faith.

Because Paul made it clear to the people that he was a mortal human like them, when they saw the manifestation of the Spirit and power of God, they knew it wasn't Paul working but Christ working through Paul. Therefore, their faith was in Christ and not in Paul.

Go into today remembering that when people have their faith divided between men and God, they will not be able to grow in their knowledge of God. The Corinthian believers remained babes because of this very reason. Some said I am of Paul, others Apollos, etc. (see 1 Cor 3:1-4).

He worked harder in the church than all other deacons and even pastors, but he was least appreciated and acknowledged because the church leadership was very tribalistic and he was not from their tribe. Bitris felt so unappreciated and cheated, and was becoming increasingly bitter until he was reminded through scripture that all his labor was unto the Lord and not unto men. He realized that the fact that men didn't appreciate his labor of love was more assurance that God was going to reward him openly. Not long after he overcame the bitterness in his soul, God rewarded him with blessings that made all his antagonists very envious. God promoted him beyond everyone’s imagination because he was faithful in the little (see Luke 16:10-12).

There are seasoned servants of God who avoid publicly acknowledging their biggest contributors, understanding that God’s reward is far greater than any recognition from men. Some refrain even from saying “thank you” for personal gifts, recognizing that doing so may, in some cases, diminish the giver’s full reward from God.

We can understand from the doctrine of The Lord Jesus that when we do things to receive the praise of men, we do it at the expense of our reward from God (see Matthew 6:1-6).

Go into today remembering that it is better to receive the reward of God than the praise of men. If men refuse to acknowledge your labor of love, they are helping to ensure that your reward from God is intact and full.
Prayer: Lord, deliver me from anything that would hinder my reward. Amen.

Philippians 2:5 (NKJV) “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…”
The "blessed mindset" goes deeper than just positive thinking or confidence. It’s about cultivating the mind and nature of Christ within us, which is the true source of God’s eternal blessings. When we put on the mind of Christ, we align ourselves with God’s will, opening the door to His unlimited grace, favor, and wisdom.

Christ’s mindset is one of humility, love, obedience to the Father, and total trust in God’s purpose. This is the foundation for all spiritual blessings in our lives (see Ephesians 1:3). Walking in Christ’s nature enables us to see ourselves and the world through God’s perspective, empowered to overcome obstacles and guided to make choices that reflect His wisdom and love.

When we consciously embrace the mind of Christ, we begin to bear His nature—compassion, patience, self-control, and a deep-seated peace that surpasses understanding. These qualities not only allow us to navigate life’s challenges with strength and calm but also position us to experience God’s blessing as we live out His will on earth.

Each day, remind yourself that as a believer, you are called to grow into the mind and nature of Christ. This is the source of God’s eternal blessings, a wellspring of grace that never runs dry.

Prayer: Lord, grant me the mind and nature of Christ. Help me grow in humility, obedience, and faith, walking in Your eternal blessing each day. Amen.

The Blessed Man's Mentality

Numbers 6:22-24 (NKJV) “And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: ‘Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, “This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: ‘The Lord bless you and keep you…’”
Jade: What’s the secret to your success in life?

Amber: I consciously walk in God’s blessing every day.

ade: But I’m blessed by God too. Why am I not succeeding like you?

Amber: It’s not just about believing I’m blessed; I declare it every morning and expect to see the blessing manifest in my day. And I do.

Although the children of Israel were already blessed as descendants of Abraham—and were told that obedience to God’s laws would bring blessings (see Deut. 28:2-13)—God still instructed the priests to regularly pronounce blessings over them. This regular affirmation served a purpose: each time they heard the priests declare it, they were reminded that they were blessed. This awareness enabled them to walk confidently in the blessing, creating a culture of strength and assurance. Even today, many Jews have a mindset of excellence and superiority that reflects this heritage.

We too need regular reminders of our blessed state so we can walk in a mindset of blessing. Many Christians struggle to live out their blessing simply because they don’t nurture this “blessed mindset.”

Make it a habit to declare scriptures that remind you of how blessed you are. Start each day with this attitude, expecting things to work in your favor. Ask the Lord to deliver you from any insecurity or feelings of inferiority.

Go into today with the expectation that God’s blessing surrounds you. If God says you are blessed, it is wrong to think otherwise.

Whose table are you eating from?

Broadcast 4203
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4203

1 Corinthians 10:21 (KJV) “Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.”
I recall how meal times in boarding school could provoke anxiety; there was always a chance of missing out on a meal. Each student was assigned a table, and we had to follow a strict schedule. Failure to comply—whether by being late or bringing the wrong cutlery—could mean going hungry for the day.

In a similar way, idolatry is a clear misstep for believers who claim faith but participate in the “table of devils” through activities like using charms, occultism, or soothsaying. These overt practices, along with more subtle ones, put one at risk of missing out on God’s kingdom (see 1 Cor. 6:9-10; Gal. 5:19-21; Eph. 5:5-7).

In John 6:41, 48, 51, and 53-58, Christ unmistakably calls His flesh (the Word) food and His blood drink, which we must partake in to have life. Thus, through salvation and meditating on His Word, we dine at the Lord's table. In contrast, consuming content that appeals to sin and sensuality (like pornography) is equivalent to eating from the table of devils.

As you go into today, commit to partaking continually from the Lord's table, staying nourished on the Word even amidst adversity or doubt. In doing so, may God’s overflowing goodness and mercy follow you always (Ps. 23:5-6).

Prayer: Lord, help me to feed only from Your table and grow in You. Amen.

The Resurrection and the Life 2

Broadcast 4202
Listen to today's audio (with audio Bible): https://streamglobe.org/aud4201
John 11:25 (NLT) Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.

The resurrection of Jesus brings believers into a life of power and hope that goes beyond anything we can imagine in this earthly life. When Lazarus was raised from the dead, he returned to his old body, one that would eventually face death again. But Jesus’ resurrection was different. He rose with a glorified body that would never die—a body not bound by time, space, or the physical limitations we experience now.

This glorious transformation is our ultimate hope as believers. Romans 8:19 tells us that “all creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” This means our true nature, as sons of God, will only be fully seen when we are clothed in glorified bodies. These eternal, heavenly bodies will no longer be subject to pain, death, or decay; they’ll reveal God’s full intention for His children.

The redemption of our bodies, as described in Philippians 3:21, will be the final step in our journey as believers, making us fully equipped to rule and reign with Christ.

Jesus' resurrection was not only about conquering death but also about opening the door to a new kind of life—one that starts now and continues into eternity. While we wait for the fulfillment of this promise, we are empowered to live with the resurrected life of Jesus within us, breaking free from sin and embracing the abundant life He offers.

Go into today with the assurance that the resurrection power of Christ is working in you now, transforming you and preparing you for an eternal life with Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for the resurrection power that lives in me. Help me to walk in this power daily and live in anticipation of the glorious life You have promised. Amen.
