Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC) For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].It wasn't until Clement accepted the Lord Jesus and was filled with the Holy Spirit that he understood his purpose for living. With a new vision for life, he began living a purpose-driven, purpose-filled life. Prior to this, Clement lived solely for pleasure, leading to an empty and purposeless existence. In his quest to fill the void in his soul and satisfy his insatiable hunger for pleasure, he succumbed to drug addiction. However, his mother never ceased praying for him, and his life was transformed when he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ.
The infilling of the Holy Spirit provides a well-taught believer with a vision for their life.
A proper study of the Bible on the topic of predestination reveals that it is a discussion typically reserved for believers in Christ (see Ephesians 1:4-5, Romans 8:28-30). Other applications often contradict the clear positions of scripture concerning God's will (1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9, Ezekiel 33:11). God's predestination does not apply to those outside His house; His sole plan for sinners is reconciliation and life. From God's perspective, sinners are dead (Colossians 2:13, Ephesians 2:1, 1 John 3:14, Genesis 2:17). Plans are not made for the dead, but only for those recreated in Christ Jesus who can walk in God's predefined plans—eternal in expression rather than time-based.
Today's Bible verse shows that we who are in Christ have been predestined for good works. Everything you will ever become has already been planned and arranged by God. The more you align with God's will, the more you will find yourself walking in the fullness of His good plans for you.
Remember that the good life God has for you in Christ Jesus has already been properly planned and fully paid for (2 Peter 1:3). All you need to do is receive it by faith with continual thanksgiving.
Prayer: Father, help me walk in faith and thanksgiving. Deliver me from all my fears. In Jesus' name. Amen.
