Titus 3:8 (KJV)8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
The God-kind of life is not a hidden treasure but one that is meant to shine through us, impacting both our inner transformation and the world around us. When Titus 3:8 calls us to “be careful to maintain good works,” it is not a call to legalism but a call to live out the reality of the divine life within.
Paul’s message in Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which He prepared in advance for us to do. These works are not the root of salvation but its fruit. They reveal the reality of the life we have received.
But how can we ensure that this life consistently produces godly works?
-
Stay Connected to the Source
Jesus emphasized the importance of abiding in Him (John 15:4). Through prayer, the Word, worship, Christian fellowship, and consistent study of the Word, we remain connected to the Vine and allow His life to flow through us. -
Walk in the Spirit
Galatians 5:16 says, “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” Yielding to the Holy Spirit enables us to manifest the fruits of godliness and overcome the pull of the old nature. -
Be Intentional in Service
Good works are not limited to morality but extend to serving others in love and advancing God’s kingdom (Matthew 25:35-40). Look for opportunities to reflect Christ’s love through acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion. -
Trust in God’s Grace
Even as we strive to live out this life, we must remember that it is God who works in us both to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose (Philippians 2:13). Our part is to cooperate with His grace.
Reflection:
- Are you intentional about reflecting the God-kind of life in your daily interactions?
- How can you align more with the works God has prepared for you?
Go into today knowing that the God-kind of life is active and transformative. As you yield to the Spirit and walk in obedience, your life becomes a powerful testimony of God’s grace and goodness.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for creating me for good works in Christ. Help me to abide in You, walk in Your Spirit, and fulfill the purpose for which I was created. May my life be a beacon of Your love and a
reflection of Your glory. Amen.
