Hebrews 13:15 (KJV) "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."

Greg faced challenges far beyond what he could have imagined. Yet, even in the midst of his trials, he held firmly to the understanding that God was in control of his life. This unwavering faith gave him a calmness and confidence that stood out. Every time Greg spoke, his words revealed his hope and trust in God, a hope that many around him found hard to comprehend.

As Greg journeyed through this difficult season, continually offering praise to God, his elder brother—who had long rejected the faith—was deeply moved. Witnessing Greg's unshakable trust in God during such trying times convinced him of the reality of Jesus. Greg’s testimony became the catalyst for his brother’s salvation.

Praising God is more than singing songs or saying the right words; it is acknowledging who He is. He is the omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient Creator and Sovereign over all things. Nothing happens without His knowledge or outside His permission. When we speak and act with this understanding, we are offering praise to Him.

However, there are moments when circumstances may tempt us to forget who God is. If we speak or act as though our lives are controlled by others or by chance, we fail to praise Him. For instance, if a robber threatens you with a loaded gun, yet you declare with confidence that your life is in God’s hands, not the robber’s, you are offering a profound sacrifice of praise.

Life will often present situations that challenge your faith, making it seem like God is not in control. But when you choose to respond based on the truth of who God is rather than the reality of your circumstances, you are giving Him the sacrifice of praise.

Reflection:
Today, remember that praising God is about acknowledging Him for who He is—the omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient Sustainer of all things. Let your words and actions reflect this truth, no matter the situation.
